Dale Smith
Died: Friday, September 7, 2001
REEDSVILLE -- Dale E. Smith, 68, of Reedsville, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg.
He was born March 12, 1933, in Parkersburg, son of the late Claude and Gladys Rockhold Smith.
He was retired 31 years from the Army Corps of Engineers, a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, member of the Reedsville Fire Department since 1958, a member of Reedsville Church of Christ, and a member of Coolville Masonic Lodge 337 F&AM for 43 years.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Thelma Jean Smith; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Connie Smith of Reedsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and John Smith of Reedsville; a daughter, Jodi Bissell of Reedsville; a sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Marvin Reed of Reedsville; five grandchildren, Melissa and Brandon Smith, Shelby and Brock Smith, and Darci Bissell, all of Reedsville; and his mother-in-law, Olive Smith of Reedsville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Melvin R. Smith.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at White-Moquin Funeral Home, Coolville, with the Rev. Phillip Sturm officiating. Burial will be held in Reedsville Cemetery ,where military services will be conducted by Tuppers Plains VFW.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a Masonic service today at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Margaret Burt
Died: Sunday, March 23, 2003
Age: 84
ATHENS -- Margaret "Tubby" Burt, 84, of Athens, died Sunday, March 23, 2003 at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Born July 23, 1918, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late E.G. and Glenna Wise Burt. She was a graduate of Athens High School and attended Ohio University. She retired from McBee's, was a member of Christ Community Wesleyan Church, Alpha Gamma Delta and Green and White Club, and was an avid Ohio University Sports enthusiast and volunteer at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by two nephews, James Burt of Norwalk, Conn., Lawrence Burt of Oconomowoc, Wis.; a sister-in-law, Trudy Burt Meyer of Wisconsin; and a cousin-in-law, Robert Hartung of Estero, Fla.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Burt.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Christ Community Wesleyan Church, with Rev. Denver Dodrill officiating. Private burial will be in West Union Street Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours observed.

Age: 63
RADCLIFF -- Ernest S. Good, 63, of Radcliff, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens. He was born Jan. 19, 1940, in Alice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elben Oley and Robbie L. Denney Good.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Nelson Good; a son, Steven Good; and a daughter, Linda Puckett.
Services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m., at J.P. Rogers Funeral Home in Wellston, with the Rev. Kay Puckett officiating. Burial will be in Yankee Street Cemetery, Wilkesville.
Friends may call at the funeral home today, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Age: 75
WELLSTON -- Helen L. Jones, 75, of Jenkins Memorial Nursing Home, formerly of South New Jersey Avenue in Wellston, died Sunday, March 23, 2003.
She is survived by a daughter, Sallyanne Holtz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Gladys Kinnison; and her husband, Thomas E. Jones.
Interment was in Ridgewood Cemetery. No calling hours were observed.

Glady Opal McClain
Died: Sunday, March 23, 2003
Age: 97
CUTLER -- Glady Opal McClain, 97, a 60-year resident of Cutler, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2003, at her home.
Born Jan. 26, 1906, in Jackson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Roy and Hattie Thomas Burnem, and was the last surviving member of that family. She received her education in the Buffalo Lick School, excelling in geography, spelling and the field of poetry. She was a model homemaker. She attended Stewart Wesleyan Church in Stewart.
She is survived by four daughters, Donna McClain and Judy (Roy) Alkire of Marietta, Doris DeVore of Belpre and Janice of Cutler; five sons, Albert (Catherine) of Vincent, Thomas, Robert and David of Cutler, and Jerry (Mable) of Torch. Also surviving are grandsons, Eric, Shawn, Ryan, Jerry Ray McClain, Jed DeVore and Decon Alkire; granddaughters, Tamara Thomas, Christie McClain, Judi Rae DeVore, Selena Knight and Tracy Sandford; great-grandsons, Tyler, Trenton, Brett, Tyler Ray McClain, Brendon, Cole Corbin Alkire and Joshuah Sandford; great-granddaughters, Lyndsey Sandford, Ashley Knight, Haley DeVore and McKayla McClain; a special niece, Lois (Don) Bell; and a special nephew, Henry Thomas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert A. McClain; two grandchildren, Jada DeVore and Roger McClain; five brothers, Robert, Jason, Guy, Eddie and Edwin Burnem; and two sisters, Orpha and Orley Hill Thomas.
Services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, with the Revs. Dave Cogar and Steve Shellett officiating. Burial will be in Graham Chapel Cemetery near Athens.
Friends may call at the funeral home today, from 2 to 9 p.m.
Honorary pallbearers are the congregation of Stewart Wesleyan Church; active pallbearers will be the grandchildren.

Beulah Geiger Williamson

Age: 80
LOGAN -- Beulah Geiger Williamson, 80, of Logan, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at Arcadia Acres Nursing Home in Logan.
Born Oct. 27, 1922, in Candytown, she was the mother of the late John and Viola Mae Bachus.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, John L. Williamson and George W. Geiger.
Private graveside services will be held Wednesday at Ebenezer Cemetery, Perry County. No calling hours will be observed.

Benny Crabtree
Died: Saturday, March 22, 2003
ATHENS -- Benny Crabtree of Lake Dallas, Texas, formerly of Athens, went home to be with his Lord on March 22, 2003, following a brief illness.
He was born April 26, 1962, in Columbus to the late Bob and Flo Charles Crabtree. He was an avid fan of stock car and dirt track racing and loved fishing.
He is survived by one brother, Joey, of Lake Dallas; one sister and her husband, Mary and Charles Lantz of Coolville; three nieces, Janelle and Ericka Crabtree of Coolville and Jade Crabtree of Lake Dallas; one nephew, Charles Lantz Jr. of Coolville; and one grandmother, Mary Crabtree of Lucasville; and several aunts and uncles.

James Duane Fouts
Died: Saturday, March 22, 2003
Age: 59
HEMLOCK -- James Duane Fouts, 59, of Pataskala, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Manor Care in Westerville.
Born July 8, 1943, in Columbus, he was the son of the late Glenn A. and Evelyn A. Marfell Fouts. He was a janitorial manager for ABS from 1980 to 1994, a U.S. Navy veteran who retired in 1980 after 20 years of service, and a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and AARP.
He is survived by a son, Doug Fouts of Glena; daughters, Pamela Straford of Pataskala and Rebecca Fouts of London; his stepmother, Wilma Fouts of Columbus; brothers, Terry Fouts and Larry Fouts of Columbus, and Randy Fouts of Wisconsin; sisters, Ida Lou Burgess of Baytown, Texas, and Carolyn Fortner of Hemlock; several nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Fouts.
Services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Hemlock Community Church, with the Rev. Earl Crabtree officiating. Interment will be in Beechgrove Cemetery.
Friends may call at J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, 118 W. Walnut St., Shawnee, today from 4 to 8 p.m.

Rhonda Kay Jayjohn LeMay
Died: Saturday, March 22, 2003
McARTHUR -- Rhonda Kay Jayjohn LeMay, 40, of McArthur, died Saturday, March 22, 2003, as the result of an auto accident.
Born Sept. 1, 1962, in McArthur, she was the daughter of Geneva "Rosie" Brown Jayjohn of Wellston and the late Willard Norman Jayjohn.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her former husband, Duane LeMay; children, Stephanie LeMay, Jennifer Combs and Duane LeMay II.
Services will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m., at McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Burial will be in Wyckoff Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 2 to 8 p.m.
