BUCHTEL -- Helen Louise Rutter, 52, of Buchtel, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at her home.
Born March 10, 1950, in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Flossie Coakley Smith.
She is survived by a niece who was raised in her home, Barbara Jean Christian; by brothers, Robert Coakley of Nelsonville, John (Linda) Weston of Malta, James Weston of Nelsonville, William (Jo) Weston of Chesterhill and Edward (Mandy) Smith of Nelsonville; a sister, Jennie Bauer of Nelsonville; several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Jean Guy.
Private graveside services will be held Friday at Whitmore Cemetery, Buchtel. Arrangements are by Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville.
Walter A. Wilson

Age: 73
POMEROY -- Walter A. Wilson, 73, of Peach Fork Road, Pomeroy, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at his home.
Born Nov. 10, 1929, in Pomeroy, he was the son of the late John and Maggie Hudson Wilson. He is survived by children Kathy Herdman, Rhonda Fetty, Donna Jean Crump and Thomas E. Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. King Wilson.
Services will be Friday, 11 a.m., at Ewing Funeral Home, Pomeroy. Burial will be in Meigs Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m.
Jay Allen Bohn
Died: Monday, February 3, 2003
Age: 47
HAMDEN -- Jay Allen Bohn, 47, of Athens, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Holzer Medical Center, Jackson.
Born May 1, 1955, in Lima, he was the son of Jackie L. and Mary V. Phines Bohn of Lima.
A memorial service will be held today, 6:30 p.m., at Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur. There will be no calling hours.
Ruth Margret Koenig Browning
Died: Sunday, February 2, 2003
Age: 75
MURRAY CITY -- Ruth Margret Koenig Browning, 75, of McDermott, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
Born May 31, 1927, in Murray City, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Freda Koenig. She was married to William C. Browning.
She is survived by daughters Marge Oyster, Peggy Miller, Reva Brady and Erica Blair; and sons Terry, Tim, Dan, Mike and Harold "Geno" Browning.
A memorial service will be held in the spring. There will no calling hours, and it is requested that no flowers be sent.
John M. Snyder
Died: Sunday, October 13, 2002
Age: 96
JOHNSTOWN -- John M. Snyder, 96, of Johnstown, formerly of New Plymouth, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at Northview Senior Center, Johnstown.
Born Jan. 27, 1906, in Hocking County, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Bessie Burt Snyder. He retired from the Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry, and was a well-known gunsmith. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Logan.
He is survived by a daughter, Anna Mae (Jess) Barnett of Johnstown; a son, Carl (Kathy) Snyder of Columbus; a son-in-law, Clarence Genheimer of Columbus; a half-sister, Ruby Sheets of Columbus; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Della Woodard Snyder; a daughter, Faye Genheimer; a grandson, Mark Snyder; and a half-sister, Loumetta Jasper.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur, where friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Elk Cemetery. The Rev. Paul L. Elhard will officiate.
Cindy Webster Fuller

AMESVILLE -- Cindy Webster Fuller, 48, of Columbus, formerly of Amesville, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, in Lancaster.
Born June 8, 1954, in Columbus, she was the daughter of George and Louise Webster. She is survived by a son, Rick Burns, and a daughter, Michelle Palmore.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens. Burial will be in Mound Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Charles W. Hannon

Age: 84
ROCKBRIDGE -- Charles W. Hannon, 84, of Rockbridge, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.
Born Dec. 31, 1917, in Colton, he was the son of the late Preston and Rose May Hannon.
Mr. Hannon was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Phillips Hannon.
Funeral services will be today at 1 p.m. at Cardaras Funeral Home in Logan. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Columbus. Calling hours will begin one hour prior to the service.
Clarence E. Hudnell
Died: Saturday, October 12, 2002
Age: 76
NEW MARSHFIELD -- Clarence E. "Bill" Hudnell, 76, of Steinmeyer Road, New Marshfield, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 19, 1926, at his home place in Hebbardsville, he was the son of the late Anderson Winfield and Dessie Carsey Hudnell. He was an Army veteran, serving 1945 to 1947 in the 388th Military Police Service Battalion, and in the Navy from 1951 to 1952. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3477 and a member of K.T. Crossen American Legion Post 21 and AMVETS/Cooties.
He is survived by his wife, Freda Thompson Hudnell; his son, Rick (Darlene) Hudnell; his daughters, Bonnie Calentine, Chris (Charlie) McClain, and Wanda (Glen) Goins; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.; and a brother, Hayes (Carolyn) Hudnell.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Brenda Kay Hudnell; six brothers; and two sisters.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home in Albany today.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association of Athens County.

RUTLAND -- Nelson E. Jarvis, 62, of Rutland, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at Rutland.
Born Sept. 11, 1940, in Wolf Summit, W.Va., he was the son of the late Hayes L. Jarvis and Beatrice Buel Hitt Jarvis.
He is survived by daughters Melinda Ann Gibbs and Michelle Leare.
No funeral services or calling hours will be held. Arrangements are by the Fisher Funeral Home, Middleport.

Clara Lathrope

LOGAN -- Clara Lathrope, 91, of Logan, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan.
Born Aug. 10, 1911, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Friedrich and Pauline (Wolf) Hettenbach.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Allen Lathrope.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. No calling hours will be observed.
