Raymond Adams
Died: Sunday, February 24, 2002
RACINE -- Raymond F. Adams, 61, of Racine, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at his residence.
Born April 9, 1940, he was the son of Florence Norris Adams of Racine and the late Marshall Adams.
Services will be held Thursday, 2 p.m., at Cremeens Funeral Home in Racine. Burial will be in Letart Falls Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Clara Rinehart
Died: Friday, February 22, 2002
CREOLA -- Clara Mae Rinehart, 81, of Creola, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at Holzer Medical Center.
Born Oct. 25, 1920, in Hocking County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew E. and Catherine Hoy Reynolds.
She was a member of Ebenezer Church and Sereno Chapter 128 OES, McArthur.
She is survived by a nephew, Mark (Peggy) Rinehart of Salt Lake City, Utah; nieces Barbara Rinehart (Bob McKintyre) of Redwood City, Calif., and Melissa Rinehart of Akron; a great-niece and great-nephew, Julia and Jeremy McKintyre; a sister-in-law, Virginia Reynolds of McArthur; and a brother-in-law, Verne (Rosie) Rinehart of McArthur.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Rinehart, on Feb. 28, 1990; a sister, Martha Marie Danielson; a brother, Samuel Reynolds; and a half brother, Jesse Hoy.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur, with the Rev. Robert McManaway officiating. Burial will be in Elk Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from noon to 2 p.m., with an Eastern Star service at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Niles Barnett
Died: Wednesday, February 20, 2002
BELPRE -- Niles O. Barnett, 92, of Belpre, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.
Born in Clarksburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Clarence A. and Savilla Queen Barnett. He was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Belpre and a graduate of Ohio University, with a bachelors degree in science and chemistry. He retired from the Belpre school system, where he taught from 1953 until 1969. Prior to teaching at Belpre, he taught in Racine and Coolville. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Coolville Masonic Lodge and Belpre Shrine Club.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Carol Barnett of Dublin; four grandsons, Eric R. Barnett of Menlo Park, Calif., Mark C. Barnett of New York, N.Y., Bradley Barnett of San Rafael, Calif., and David Barnett of Scottsdale, Ariz. Also surviving are two brothers, Berl Barnett of Marietta and Chester Barnett of Columbus; and two sisters, Clarabel Knight of Marietta and Doris Fick of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alyce Chevalier Barnett, in 1983; a son, William C. Barnett; and an infant son, Charles M. Barnett.
Services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Leavitt Funeral Home in Belpre, with the Rev. David Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Coolville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 6 to 9 p.m., where Masonic services will be conducted by Coolville Masonic Lodge at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Pearl Brooks
Died: Tuesday, February 19, 2002
THE PLAINS -- Pearl Harrison Brooks, 72, of The Plains, died early Tuesday morning, Feb. 19, 2002, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Born in Athens County on Feb. 19, 1930, he was the son of Jennie Secoy Brooks of Athens and the late Jesse Brooks. He was a retired shipping and receiving employee of Ohio University, a member of Bethel Apostolic Church of Albany, and an Army veteran of the Korean conflict.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Evelyn Jones Brooks; daughters Tina (Jeffrey) Smathers of Chauncey and Tammy (Matt) Hoisington of Athens; grandchildren Tara Smathers and Scott Smathers of Chauncey, and Hadley Hoisington of Athens; a great-grandchild, Brennan Smathers of Chauncey; sisters Goldie Dille of McConnelsville and Ruth Anderson of Cleveland; and brothers Arthur (Janet) Brooks of Columbus, Jack (Judy) Brooks of Cleveland and Leslie (Lena) Brooks of The Plains.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by brothers Lawrence and Owen Brooks.
Services will be Friday, 1 p.m., at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home, Athens, with Elder Jonathan Pollard officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens, with graveside military rites conducted by K.T. Crossen American Legion Post 21.
Friends may call at the funeral home today, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

LOGAN -- The Rev. Noah Kenneth Damron, 75, of Logan, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, in Logan.
He was born Feb. 11, 1927, in Pikeville, Ky.
He is survived by his wife, Evah Faye Wallace Damron.

Born June 8, 1939, in Washington, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John and Mabel Keller Roble.
She is survived by her husband, James E. Cecil; and children Tina Cecil, James Cecil III and William Cecil.

SYRACUSE -- Paul Eugene Harris II, 45, of 1209 College Road, Syracuse, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Holzer Medical Center.
Born April 23, 1956, in Mason, W.Va., he was the son of Paul Eugene Harris I of Racine and the late Minnie Susan Goodnight Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry R. Gibbs Harris; a daughter, Heather Dawn Harris; and a son, Joshua Heath Harris.
Services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at Racine United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Letart Falls Cemetery.

Richard Mason

MIDDLEPORT -- Richard Allison Mason, 67, of Middleport, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant, W.Va.
Born June 24, 1933, in Durango, Colo., he was the son of the late William A. and Sarah E. Kissane Mason.
Services will be held Saturday, 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pomeroy. Burial will be in Meigs Memory Gardens.

Mildred Mingus
Died: Tuesday, May 29, 2001
GLOUSTER -- Mildred E. Mingus, 78, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Sunny Vee Nursing Home in Delaware, Ohio.
She was born Feb. 21, 1923, in Morgan County, to James and Bertha Roberts Mingus. She was a 1940 honor graduate of Homer Union High School in Morgan County, and was a clerk for Consolidated Biomedical Laboratories.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Mingus of Delaware; a stepson, Donald (Connie) Mingus of Millfield; two step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild; two sisters, Mary Ruth Taylor of Canton, and Hazel (Herbert) Schonborn of New Lexington; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson W., in 1974; and a brother and sister-in-law, Jacob and Frances Triplett.
Services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at Robinson Funeral Home in Delaware. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 that afternoon at Maplewood Cemetery in Glouster.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m.
