Mildred "Mickey" Curtis
Died: Saturday, March 2, 2002
Age: 75
Mildred Mickey Curtis, 75, of Sabina, formerly of New Vienna, died Saturday (March 2, 2002) at Miami Valley Medical Center. She is survived by her husband, J. Clayton Curtis, whom she married July 21, 1946.
She was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Marion, the daughter of the late Robert L. and Isadora Williams Murray. She was a homemaker and a member of the Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church of New Vienna.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Gary C. (Lynne) Curtis of Parkersburg, W.Va., Jerry Curtis of Sabina, Beverly (Jim) McDowell of Sabina and Barbara (Fred) Bryan of Bloomingburg; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ransom Murray.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Brett Lee Curtis; and two siblings, Opal Murray and Russell Murray.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, with Keith Perkins officiating, with burial in the New Antioch Cemetery. Visitation was 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Richard McKenzie
Died: Saturday, March 2, 2002
Age: 86
Richard McKenzie, 86, of South Solon, died Saturday (March 2, 2002) at Liberty Nursing Center in Jamestown. He was preceded in death by two wives, Mary Anna Ayers in 1949 and Pauline Schilling Dudley in 1989.
Mr. McKenzie was born April 1, 1915, in Montgomery County, son of the late John and Jenny McGary McKenzie. He was retired from farming, and was a former resident of Clinton County.
Mr. McKenzie is survived by his twin brother, Robert McKenzie of South Solon; a stepson, Larry Dudley of Jeffersonville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wives and parents, Mr. McKenzie was preceded in death by seven brothers, Howard, Joe, Bill, Jim, John, Thomas and George; and an infant sister.
The funeral service was conducted 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St. in Sabina, with interment in the South Solon Cemetery.
Violet Mae Pease
Died: Friday, March 1, 2002
Age: 82
Violet Mae Pease, 82, of Xenia, died Friday afternoon (March 1, 2002) at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles Joseph Pease.
Mrs. Pease was born Aug. 20, 1921, in Cincinnati, daughter of the late Henry and Carolyn Ruscher. She and her husband owned and operated the Sunnyside Restaurant and Dance Hall in Allensburg for over 25 years. Later she managed a hardware store in Nokomsis, Fla. She was a member of the Eagles and the first president of the women's auxiliary in Blanchester. She had attended the Solid Rock Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie L. (Harry) Craft of Xenia; a granddaughter, Angie (David) Salyers of Xenia; three great-grandchildren, Sara Craft, MaKenzie Salyers and Garett Salyers; and other family members and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Chuck Pease; a brother, Alfred Ruscher; a sister, Gerdie; and a grandson, Harry Craft Jr.
Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday at McCOLAUGH FUNERAL HOME, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, Pastor Mark Brooks officiating, with burial in the Lynchburg Cemetery. Visitation was from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Greenewood Manor for all of their excellent care.
Russell L. Sprinkle
Died: Monday, February 17, 2003
Age: 69
Russell L. Sprinkle, 69, of Samantha, died Monday (Feb. 17, 2003) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Sprinkle of Samantha.
Mr. Sprinkle was born Oct. 3, 1933, in Belfast, son of the late Elmer Francis and Clara Catherine Davis Sprinkle. He was a member of the Leesburg Friends Church and former president of the Quaker Knoll Camp Board.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Penny (Michael) Dillehay of Waynesburg; a daughter-in-law, Donna Beck Sprinkle of Villa Park, Ill.; two granddaughters, Samantha Nichole Sprinkle and Heather Renee Sprinkle, both of Villa Park, Ill.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dr. James R. Sprinkle.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Leesburg Friends Church, Pastor John Fitzgerald officiating, with burial in the Samantha Methodist Cemetery. Earl Leroy Story

Age: 83
Earl Leroy Story, 83, of Wilmington, died Monday (Feb. 17, 2003) at the Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington.
Mr. Story was born April 23, 1919, in Bowersville, son of the late Harry D. and Ilo Conrey Story. He had been employed for 63 years at Irwin Auger Bit. He was a member and past post commander of the Wilmington American Legion Post 49. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II.
He is survived by two sons, Robert L. Story Sr. of Wilmington and David L. (Theresa) Story of Virginia; four grandchildren, Robert L. Story Jr. of Wilmington, Aaron L. Story of Wilmington, Summer Leann Story of Virginia and Sarah Story of Virginia; a dear friend, Diana Valentine of Wilmington; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Nunn of Miamisburg; and a niece, Sandy Quigley of Wilmington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Story Nunn.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the FISHER-EDGINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 97 W. Locust St., Wilmington, Bob Baker officiating, with burial in the Bowersville Cemetery, where the Wilmington American Legion memorial squad will accord full military honors. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pauline Walker Van Arsdell
Died: Monday, February 17, 2003
Age: 95
Pauline Walker Van Arsdell, 95, of the St. Paul, Minn. area, died Monday (Feb. 17, 2003). She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Van Arsdell.
Mrs. Van Arsdell was born April 16, 1907, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Harry Harford and Testa Spears Walker. She lived in Wilmington and Columbus in Ohio; Houston, Texas; and Mahtomedi, Minn. She was a Lazasrus buyer and an artist.
She is survived by a son, William R. (Carmen) Van Arsdell Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; a half sister, Beatrice (Robert) Walker Warren of Wilmington; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; and nephews, nieces and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a half brother, Frank Spears, and a half sister, Ethel Spears Williams.
Requiem Eucharist will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the St. John in the Wilderness Church in White Bear Lake, Minn. A private family committal service will be held at the St. John's Church Cemetery.
William "Bill" T. Wollard
Died: Monday, February 17, 2003
Age: 77
William T. "Bill" Woolard, 77, of Hillsboro, died Monday (Feb. 17, 2003) at the Highland District Hospital, Hillsboro.
Mr. Woolard was born March 13, 1925, in Leesburg, son of Pearl Rowe Woolard Wise of Hillsboro and the late Ralph Woolard. He was a police officer for the city of Hillsboro, serving as chief of police for over 25 years. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio State Sheriff and Police Officers associations, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1161, Bainbridge American Legion Post 14, the Highland Lodge 38 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati and a life member of the AmVets Post 61 and the V.F.W. Post 9094.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Darlene (Tom) Coleman of Wilmington; a son, Thomas Edward "Ed" (Teresa VanHoose) Woolard of Bonita Springs, Fla.; two stepsons, James E. "Jim" (Dawn) Ryan of Naples, Fla., and Jerald Lee "Jerry" Ryan of Bonita Springs, Fla.; two sisters, Mary Ann Pitzer of Hillsboro and Betty Jane (Bob) Tommasino of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother, Robert (Etta) Woolard of Augusta, Ga.; a half sister, Georgeanna (Robert) Saunders of Miamisburg; two half brothers, Charles (Lee Ann) Wise of Bainbridge and Earl "Butch" Wise of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Robin (John) Cloud, Brian Coleman, Tracy and Mark Rupp and Rachel and Sarah Ryan; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Brayden Cloud.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the TURNER & SON FUNERAL HOME, 602 N. High St., Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Masonic services and Scottish Rite Ring services will be held 7:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Glenna Jean Current Faul

Age: 61
Glenna Jean Current Faul, 61, of Wilmington, died Sunday (Feb. 16, 2003) at Clinton Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 5, 1940, in Clinton County, daughter of the late Jesse and Lena Duvall Current.
She is survived by four sons, Timothy (Karmi) Fox of Wilmington, Mark (June) Sablock of Georgia, J.R. (Kim) Sablock of Georgia and Jim (Charmane) Sablock of New Hampshire; three daughters, Sandy (Buddy) Rowe of Wilmington, Pam (Grover) Houston of Wilmington, Chris (Gerald) Roake of Georgia; three brothers, Bill Current of New York, Jesse "Bud" Current of Wilmington, Harold "Speedy" Current of Wilmington; a sister, Ruth Scott of Columbus; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dave Current, and a sister, Betty Fox.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Pastor Elizabeth J. Looney officiating. No visitation is scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of FISHER-EDGINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 97 W. Locust St., Wilmington.
