Age: 80
Hazel Ruth Mosel Smith, 80, of Wilmington, died Sunday (Feb. 24, 2002) at the Blanchester Care Center, Blanchester.
She was born Dec. 20, 1921, in Bridgeport, Conn., the daughter of the late John and Hazel Hair Mosel. She was an active member and volunteer of the Audubon Society, a volunteer at the Bridgeport Hospital, and was an active reader and nature lover.
She is survived by a son, Dr. Norman Smith of Wilmington; two daughters, Carole Smith Berney of Watertown, Mass., and Lauren Smith Soliday of Seattle, Wash., a sister, Natalie Collings of Stratford, Conn.; and six grandchildren, Erik Smith of Wilmington, Adam Smith of Wilmington, Jennifer Berney of Olympia, Wash., William Berney of Watertown, Mass., Devin Soliday of Seattle, Wash. and Marie Soliday of Seattle, Wash.
In addition to her parents, a brother, Robert Mosel, is deceased.
No services are planned locally. A graveside service will be held in Connecticut at a later date. The FISHER-EDGINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 97 W. Locust Street, Wilmington, is serving the family.

Cleo Curtis Redkey

Age: 83
Cleo Curtis Redkey, 83, of Worthington, died Sunday (Feb. 24, 2002) at Riverside Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Keller Redkey.
He was a former manager of Fairley Hardware Store in Blanchester and a former president of Wm. Glenny Glass Co. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Blanchester American Legion Post 179, Blanchester Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Syrian Temple AAONMS. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kay (Roger) Johnson and Diane Lowman; two grandchildren, Barry (Christal) Johnson and Kathryn Meyers; and two great-grandchildren, Aric and Danielle Johnson.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at HANNAH-TUFTS-SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, with Masonic services will be held at 1:45 p.m. Burial will be in Blanchester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, Worthington Chapel, 515 High St., Worthington, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at HANNAH-TUFTS-SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Burn Institute or a charity of the donor's choice.
Harry Glenn Garman

Harry Glenn Garman, 88, of 9605 S. Indian River Drive, Fort Pierce, Fla., died 8:27 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 23, 2002) at her residence. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Bennett Garman. They were married Jan. 1, 1948.
Mr. Garman was born Oct. 28, 1913, in Wilmington, son of the late Frank and Winnie Garman. He was a retired dairy farmer. He graduated from Wilmington High School.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Dale Garman, and a sister, Charlotte Baughn.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, The Rev. Robert Byler officiating, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Wanda J. Bentley Riley

Wanda J. Bentley Riley, 59, of Walton, Ky., died Friday (Feb. 22, 2002) at St. Luke Hospital, Florence, Ky.
She was born July 27, 1942, in Clinton County, the daughter of the late Guy and Louise Huffman Taylor. She was a member of the Sabina United Methodist Church and attended Sabina High School. She was formerly a nurses' aide at Fayette County Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia L. Bentley of Walton, Ky.; a son, Gary L. (Ginnie) Bentley of Hebron, Ky., two grandchildren; and a brother, Larry Taylor of Sabina.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina. Burial will be in the Sabina Cemetery. Visitation will be noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Edward Kenneth Daniels

Age: 64
Edward Kenneth Daniels, 64, of Hillsboro, died Friday (Feb. 22, 2002) at Highland District Hospital. His wife, Lana Schreiner Daniels, survives. They were married June 17, 1995, in Hillsboro.
Mr. Daniels was born Dec. 4, 1937, in Marion, Ind., son of the late Edward Francis and Ruby Moore Daniels. He had been an educator for 38 years, starting his career as a high school teacher at Eastern High School, and later accepted a position as a professor with the Tri-County Academic Center and Southern State Community College, where he was a professor of speech, drama and English. He was a member of the AA community since 1981, a former board member of Family Recovery Services, former member of the Hillsboro Rotary Club and was the past exalted ruler of the B.P.O. Elks 361. He was also a member of the Highland County Board of MRDD and was a member of the Beta Theta Pi social fraternity. A 1957 graduate of Woodward High School, his received a bachelor of science degree in education June 15, 1967, from the University of Cincinnati, and received his master's degree in speech and theater from the University of Cincinnati on Aug. 25, 1978. He was an actor, director and writer, and was well-known for his play The Story of Santa Claus.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Laura Sigler of Newport, Ky.; two stepdaughters, Sonya (Kevin) Curren of Georgetown, Ky. and Tania (Corey) Perry of Powell; two grandchildren, Emily and Ty; four stepgrandchildren, Coree, Andrew, Casey and Ryan; several nieces and nephews; along with his best friend Max.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Lambing and Diane Mountel.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Central Campus of Southern State Community College, Hillsboro, John Porter officiating. A reception will follow the celebration at the college. Darrell B. Johnson, 62, of Wilmington, died Friday (Feb. 22, 2002) at Clinton Memorial Hospital. His wife Ann Howard Johnson survives.
Mr. Johnson was born Feb. 28, 1939, in Clinton County, son of the late Elerick and Reva McClannhan Johnson of Wilmington. He retired from the Randall Company after 34 years. A member of the Martinsville I.O.O.F. Lodge, Mr. Johnson had served in the National Guard.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Johnson is survived by two sons, Jonathan Roach of New Vienna and Jeffrey Roach of Wilmington; two grandchildren, Vernon Bradley Roach and John Thomas Roach; two sisters, JoAnn Morris Fulton of Wilmington and Bonnie Butler of New Vienna; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St. in Sabina, with interment in the Clinton Memory Gardens. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Age: 71
Zelma M. Ross, 71, of Wilmington, died Friday (Feb. 22, 2002) at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Residence. She is survived by her husband, Vernon Ross of Wilmington.
Mrs. Ross was born April 7, 1930, in Lawrence County, W.Va., daughter of the late Luther and Myrtle Bass Petty. She retired in 1984 from the Kroger Company after 30 years of service.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Karen Willis of Leesburg and Cheryl W. Aln of Peebles; three grandchildren, Chrystal (Brian) Henkaline of Wilmington, Eric (Beth) Willis of Hillsboro and Shannon (Michael) Labig of Washington Court House; five great-grandchildren, Britney Willis, Treyton Willis, Parker Willis, Alexander Henkaline and Sadhira Henkaline; two sisters, Mae (Gene) Carr of Springfield and Mary Dever of Florida; and two brothers, Henry (Joan) Petty of Florida and George Petty of Missouri.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family Tuesday, Hospice Chaplain Lynn Gitzinger officiating, with burial in Clinton County Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 937 N. High St., Worthington, 43085, in her memory.
