Robert E. Seaman
Died: Friday, February 22, 2002
Age: 83

Robert E. Seaman, 83, of Sabina, died Friday (Feb. 22, 2002) at his residence. His wife of more than 36 years, Mildred Kirk Seaman, survives.

He was born May 8, 1918, in New Vienna, son of the late Joseph Emory and Emma Queen Sloan Seaman. He was retired from the Randall Company's maintenance department and operated Bob's Woodshop in Sabina.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mary Frances (Cliford) Neat of Cynthiana, Ky., and Ann Marie (Robert) Norman of New Vienna; a son, James Bruce (Mary Lou) Seaman of Loveland; three stepchildren, Kenneth Bernard of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Betty Neanover of Blanchester and Terry Lynn Bernard of Tavares, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edith (Willis) Reynolds of Blanchester.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Long and Helen Donahue.

Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Vienna. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Clinton County, 61 E. Main St., Wilmington, 45177. LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, is serving the family.

Larry E. Sprinkle
Died: Friday, February 22, 2002
Age: 52

Larry E. Sprinkle, 52, of Hillsboro, died Friday (Feb. 22, 2002) at his residence. His wife, Linda Vance Sprinkle, survives. They were married April 22, 1970 in Hillsboro.

Mr. Sprinkle was born May 26, 1949, in Hillsboro, son of the late Clifford Eugene Sprinkle and of Adelia Irene Cochran Sprinkle, who survives. He was a self-employed truck owner-operator. A U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam era, Mr. Sprinkle was a life member of the AmVets Post 61. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1161.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Sprinkle is survived by two daughters, Tracy Lynn (Craig) Hall of Sidney, Terra Lee (James) Burton of Hillsboro; a son, Travis Lane (Amber) Sprinkle of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Nathan Alan Hall, Allison Sue Hall and Jacob Anthony Burton; and a sister, Fonda Chandler of Hillsboro.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at the TURNER & SON FUNERAL HOME, 602 N. High St. in Hillsboro, John Porter officiating, with interment in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery where military honors will be presented by the Highland County Honor Guard. Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Benjamin R. Garrett
Died: Saturday, February 9, 2002
Age: 76

Benjamin R. Garrett, 76, of 1156 W. San Jose Ave., Fresno, Calif. 93711, died Saturday (Feb. 9, 2002) at Saint Agnes Hospital, Fresno, Calif. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at YOST WEBB FUNERAL HOME in Fresno. Services also will be held 10 a.m. Feb. 19 in the chapel of Memorial Park in Wheelersburg, Ohio. Arrangements are being made by BRANT FUNERAL HOME in Portsmouth.

Phillip Dean Taylor
Died: Thursday, February 7, 2002
Age: 55

Phillip Dean Taylor, 55, of Blanchester, died Thursday (Feb. 7, 2002) at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington. He is survived by his wife, Brenda L. Greenwell Taylor of Blanchester.

Mr. Taylor was born March 6, 1946, in Midland, son of Tressie Keeton of Blanchester and the late Delbert Taylor. He was a member of the Faith Evangelic Free Church in Milford.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two children, Kathy (Stan) Dohner of Laura and Duane Taylor of Goshen; a brother, Darrell Taylor of Midland; and four grandchildren, Aaron, Kristin and Ethan Dohner and Vanessa Taylor.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at TUFTS SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, with burial in Jefferson Township Cemetery, Westboro. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5400 Dupont Circle, Suite J, Milford, 45150.

Boyd A. (Bo) Curtsinger
Died: Wednesday, February 6, 2002
Age: 38

Boyd A. Bo Curtsinger, 38, of Wilmington, formerly of Clarksville, Ind., died 6:52 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 6, 2002) at University Hospital of Cincinnati.

Mr. Curtsinger was born Feb. 14, 1963, in Jeffersonville, Ind., son of Geri Webb of Wilmington and the late John D. Curtsinger. He worked at Kroger in Kettering for several years. He graduated from Clarksville High School in Indiana and obtained an associate's degree from Sinclair Community College in Dayton.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a stepfather, Robert L. Webb of Wilmington; a brother, John D. (April) Curtsinger Jr. of Wilmington; a sister, Robin Lin (Garron L.) Sneed of Charlestown, Ind.; two stepsisters, Stephanie Shumaker of Kettering and Jennifer Webb of Miamisburg; a grandmother, Wanita Aubrey of Wilmington; five nieces and nephews, Tiffany Sneed, Whitney Sneed, Shane Curtsinger, J.D. Curtsinger and Hayley Curtsinger; a stepniece, Charisse Sobczak; three other stepnieces; three aunts and an uncle; Terry (Joel) Walraven, Janice Mooney and special friend Nelson Redfern, Ann (Charles) Abbott and John K. Singer; a cousin, Jessica Walraven; numerous other cousins; and three special friends, Saundra Begley, Cheryl Fiscus and Lisa Nicely.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Shawn K. Curtsinger; a grandfather, Jesse Singer; and grandparents, William and Rena Curtsinger.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, the Rev. Arthur F. Myers officiating, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 105 W. Lura Doan Hubbard Middleton
Died: Tuesday, February 5, 2002
Age: 71

Lura Doan Hubbard Middleton, 71, of Wilmington, died Tuesday (Feb. 5, 2002) at Wilmington Nursing & Rehabilitation Residence.

She was born Aug. 29, 1931, in Harlan, Ky., daughter of Lloyd and Joann King Doan.

She is survived by five daughters, Barbara Sue Davidson of Detroit, Mich., Joann Pass of Augusta, Ga., Billy Jean Weekley of Greensboro, Ga., Lorain Davis of Fayetteville and Pamela Spray of Wilmington; a son, Varda Hubbard of Detroit, Mich.; a sister, Tinci McCutcheon of Indiana; a special grandson, Billy Thomas Hubbard of Wilmington; and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the FISHER-EDGINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 97 W. Locust St., Wilmington, Sister Regina Haag officiating, with burial in Clinton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home in memory of Lura Middleton.

Robert Cundif
Died: Monday, February 4, 2002
Age: 32

Robert Cundiff, 32, of 138 Rice Drive, New Vienna, died 3:12 a.m. Monday (Feb. 4, 2002) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jo Cundiff. They were married Aug. 23, 1991.

Mr. Cundiff was born Jan. 10, 1970, in Bangkok, Thailand, son of Pin Oomngangrong Cundiff of New Vienna and the late Jackie Dean Cundiff. He was employed at McKee Addison in Wilmington. He was a graduate of Laurel Oaks.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Christian Cundiff of New Vienna; three daughters, Abbigail Cundiff, Carlie Cundiff and Joleena Cundiff, all of New Vienna; a brother, Charles David (Crystal) Cundiff of Hillsboro; his grandparents, Charles and Kathleen Cundiff of Hillsboro; two nephews, Clay Napier of Hillsboro and Kyle Cundiff of Hillsboro; a mother-in-law, Shirley Truman of Hillsboro; a brother-in-law, Bill Woodward of Centerville; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Lucas of Hillsboro; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Angel Cundiff, and a brother, Paul Cundiff.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at L. EUGENE SMITH & SON FUNERAL HOME, State Route 73, New Vienna, with burial in New Vienna I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Dorothea Woods
Died: Sunday, February 3, 2002
Age: 70

Dorothea L. Woods, 70, of Xenia, passed away Sunday morning (Feb. 3, 2002) at Grandview Hospital. Her husband, Aubrey B. Woods, survives. They were married June 23, 1951.

Mrs. Woods was born Feb. 2, 1932, in Clinton County, daughter of the late Estel Eldon and Ruth Marie Caplinger Spurgeon. She retired from the Xenia City Schools food service, and was a member of the Northside Christian Church and the Aldora Chapter 262 Order of the Eastern Star.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Marla (Thomas) Whitacre of Xenia; a son, Ronald (Rhonda) Woods of Xenia; five grandchildren, Shawn Woods, Nicole Woods, Tara Whitacre, Scott Whitacre and Brad Whitacre; three sisters, Jody (Gene) Cameron of Xenia, Mary (Glen) Carter of Springboro and Janet Neeld of Xenia; a brother-in-law, Thomas Blessing of Xenia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Blessing.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Northside Christian Church, 733 Country Club Drive, Xenia, the Rev. Isaac J. Flora and David Scott officiating, with interment in Valley View Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northside Christian Church. NEELD FUNERAL HOME, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, is handling the arrangements.

Laurence (Sam) Liming
Died: Saturday, February 2, 2002
Age: 81

Laurence Sam Liming, 81, of Jamestown, died 2:30 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 2, 2002) at Liberty Nursing Center, Xenia, after a seven-year battle with cancer. His wife, Ellen Elizabeth Dean, died in 1999. They were married in 1945.

Mr. Liming was born Aug. 1, 1920, in Greene County, son of the late Charles and Stella Mae Breakfield Liming. He graduated in 1939 from Jefferson High School in Bowersville and was a lifelong farmer in the Jamestown area. He was a past president and member of the Greeneview Board of Education for eight years.

He is survived by a son, Larry (Katherine) Liming of Xenia; two daughters, Peggy (Larry) Oemisch of Xenia and Patty (Rick) Dershem of Xenia; eight grandchildren, Brad and Barry Bendall, Angie and Jeremy DeHart, Jon (Lori) Liming, Julie Perdue, and Mark and Holly Campbell; several great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Glenn, Elbert and Roy Liming.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Max, Wilton and Floyd Liming; and a sister, Wanda Bradds.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the McCOLAUGH FUNERAL HOME, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, pastors Clarence Dinnen and James BonDurant officiating, with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Port William. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, 45420.
