Roush B. Workman
Died: Saturday, May 4, 2002
Age: 89

Roush B. Workman, 89, of Lynchburg (Fairview community), died Saturday morning (May 4, 2002) at the Laurels of Hillsboro. His wife, Eleanor Vanniman Workman, survives. They were married in June 1960 in Hillsboro.

Mr. Workman was born July 17, 1912, in Fairview, son of the late Ott and Dena Roush Workman. He was a retired farmer and had worked for the Lynchburg-Clay Schools. He was a member of the Fairview Church of Christ, the Lynchburg Lodge 178 F & AM, was a lifetime member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati and the Syrian Temple of Cincinnati. He had played in the Syrian Shrine Band, was a Kentucky Colonel and had played in the Liberty Band, which was a band from several Adams County communities. He was a 1931 graduate of Lynchburg High School.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Virgil V. (Fern) Workman of Washington Court House; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elzie and Jennie Barnes Roush, who raised him; his first wife, Myrle Williams Workman; and a brother, John E. Workman.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the DAVIS-TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 201 Broadway St., Lynchburg, Larry Herdman officiating, with burial in the Barnes Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Church of Christ.

James D. Wright
Died: Saturday, May 4, 2002
Age: 48

James D. Wright, 48, of Wilmington, formerly of Warren County, died Saturday (May 4, 2002) in New Vienna. His wife, Carolyn Howard Wright of Wilmington, survives.

Mr. Wright was born May 15, 1953, in West Liberty, Ky., son of William Arthur Wright of New Vienna and the late Irene Sloas Wright. He spent most of his life in Clinton and Warren counties, where he worked for Kendrick Moving and Storage for several years. He attended Pleasant Grove First Church of God.

In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by a son, James "Jimmy" D. Wright Jr. of Lebanon; a stepson, Larry Rainey of Hillsboro; a stepbrother, Bob of Kentucky; and two stepsisters, Anna Lou Perry and Dorothy Cassidy, both of Kentucky.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at VALE-HOSKINS FUNERAL HOME, Morrow, with interment in Morrow Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jeffrey Scott Leisure
Died: Friday, May 3, 2002
Age: 40

Jeffrey Scott Leisure, 40, of Sabina, died Friday (May 3, 2002) as result of a truck accident on U.S. 22 near Melvin. His wife, Tina Dearth Leisure, whom he married June 8, 1985, survives.

Jeff was born Feb. 22, 1962, in Fayette County, son of Donald and Beverly Butcher Leisure of Washington Court House. Jeff was the owner of Leisure Trucking. A 1980 graduate of Miami Trace High school, he was a Wilson Township Trustee and a member of the Sabina Church of Christ. He was the number one husband and father, enjoying many family vacations throughout the years, and loved attending his children's sporting events, as well as just spending time with his family. He was also an avid trophy game hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his wife, Jeff is survived by four children, Illyssa, Matthew, Mollie and Macie, all at home; a sister, Tammy Palmer of Washington Court House; three brothers, Randy (Denise) Leisure of Jeffersonville, David (Mindy) Leisure of Jeffersonville, and Dennis (Krista) Leisure of South Salem; his in-laws, Janet and Herbert Dearth of Sabina; several nieces and nephews; and many friends and associates.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Leisure.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sabina Church of Christ, 115 E. Washington St., with burial in the Sabina Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jeff Leisure Children Memorial Fund, c/o National Bank and Trust of Sabina, 135 N. Howard St., Sabina, 45169. LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, is in charge of the arrangements.

Edward E. Reeder
Died: Friday, May 3, 2002
Age: 61

Edward E. Reeder, 61, of Martinsville, died Friday (May 3, 2002) at Clinton Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his second wife, Tamatha Reeder of Martinsville; and his first wife, Judith Reeder of Martinsville.

Mr. Reeder was born Oct. 24, 1941, in Fairborn, son of Blanche Evans Reeder Leming of Wilmington and the late Kenneth William Reeder. He was a member of the Sugar Run Valley Baptist Church.

In addition to his first and second wife and mother, he is survived by four children, Lou (Wallace) Little of Port William, Joseph (Tammy) Reeder of Liberty Township, David Thomas Reeder of Port William and Johnathan K. Reeder of Martinsville; three brothers, George (Elizabeth) Reeder of Blanchester, Jacob Reeder of Lebanon and Kenneth (Tammy) Reeder of Port William; four grandchildren, Michael E. Reeder of Martinsville, Constance A. Freeland of Port William, Adrian D. Freeland of Wilmington and Caelyn E. Reeder of Liberty Township; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher T.D. Reeder and Darian Reeder.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Everett C. Reeder; three sisters, Edith Brittain, Sharon Reeder and Linda Reeder; two uncles, Homer and Carl Evans; and three aunts, Edna Shinkle, Edith Puterbugh and Psyche Stevenson.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the FISHER-EDGINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 97 W. Locust St., Wilmington, the Rev. Earl McGuffey officiating, with burial in the New Burlington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of the services Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to family, c/o Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St., Wilmington, 45177.

Wesley G. Burton
Died: Monday, April 29, 2002
Age: 64

Wesley G. Burton, 64, died Monday (April 29, 2002). He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Gail Reava Burton.

Mr. Burton was born in 1937 at home in Clarksville. He graduated in 1955 from Clarksville High School and attended The Ohio State University. He was employed for 30 years by the R.L. Polk Company. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a devoted husband, loving father and dear grandfather.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Laura Burton and Bryan (Tammy) Burton; two grandchildren, Haley and Sydney; a brother, James (Rhonda) Burton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Westwood United Methodist Church, 3460 Epworth Ave., Cincinnati. Memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice, Volunteer Services, 11500 Northlake Drive, Suite 400, Cincinnati, 45249. Wayne F. Carver
Died: Friday, April 19, 2002
Age: 79

Wayne F. Carver, 79, of Wilmington, died 12:55 p.m. Friday (April 19, 2002) at Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Residence. He is survived by his wife, Roberta "Bobbie" Achor Carver. They were married June 15, 1941.

Mr. Carver was born July 11, 1922, in Clinton County, son of the late Fred and Christella Fisher Carver. He formerly worked at NCR for 32 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 49 and the former fire chief of the Martinsville Fire Department. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the Army Air Corps. He graduated from New Vienna High School. He was a member of the Martinsville Friends Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Cheryl L. (Terry) Thatcher of Wilmington; a sister, Pauline Cobb of Arizona; two grandchildren, Thomas (Deanne) Thatcher and Christine (Jason) Davis; and five great-grandchildren, Alexis Thatcher, Taylor Thatcher, Mitchell Thatcher, Garrett Davis and Cody Davis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Carver.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, Mike McCormick officiating, with burial in Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Lewis C. Lyons
Died: Friday, April 19, 2002
Age: 82

Lewis C. Lyons, 82, of Blanchester, died Friday (April 19, 2002) at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Pytosh Lyons.

Mr. Lyons was born Dec. 7, 1919, in Blanchester, to the late David Lyons and Creola Myers. He was a member of American Legion Post 179, Blanchester, and Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Blanchester.

He is survived by three children, Darlene L. (Bill) Smith of Charles Town, W.Va., Kay L. Lyons of Blanchester and David N. Lyons of Charlotte N.C.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at TUFTS SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, Gene Williams officiating, with burial in Blanchester I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Blanchester. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Herbert Richard Minshall
Died: Friday, April 19, 2002
Age: 78

Herbert Richard Minshall, 78, of 1341 Washington Ave., Washington Court House, died 12:45 p.m. Friday (April 19, 2002) at the Court House Manor Nursing Home, where he had been a residence since Jan. 5. He had been in failing health the past year. He is survived by his wife, the former Martha L. Nance. They were married Nov. 10, 1944.

Mr. Minshall was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Fayette County, son of Ernest and Hazel Cox Minshall. He lived most of his live in the Fayette County community. He was a chemical manager for Clinton County Landmark for 24 years, before his retirement in 1986. Prior to that he was a route supervisor for Pennington Baker. He was also a retired farmer. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He attended Heritage Memorial Church of Christ in Christian Union. He was a member of the Fayette County Commission on Aging and the Clinton County Farm Bureau.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Bonnie (Max) Ours of New Holland; two granddaughters, Tami Ours and Michelle (Robert) Rutherford, both of New Holland; two sisters, Pauline Pierce of Peoria, Ariz., and Helen (John "Jack") Sollars of Bloomingburg; a stepsister, Janet L. Kelley of 715 MacArthur Way; a stepbrother Richard (Marjorie) Hodson of Dayton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard L. and Robert E. Minshall; and a half brother, Edward Eugene (Gene) Minshall.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at the KIRKPATRICK FUNERAL HOME, 554 Washington Ave., Washington Court House, the Rev. Robert H. Kline, associate pastor at Heritage Memorial Church, officiating, with burial in New Holland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Ohio Parkinson Society, P.O. Box 18313, Columbus, 43218-0313.
