Bonnie Kate Smith Scott, 87, of 580 E. Washington St., Sabina, died 6:15 p.m. Friday (April 19, 2002) at Autumn Years Nursing Center in Sabina. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Lauren Ooten, Charles H. Smith and Lee Scott.
Mrs. Scott was born Sept. 27, 1914, in Livingston, Tenn., daughter of the late John and Minerva Ferrell Jackson. She formerly worked at Model Cleaners.
She is survived by a son, James (Michele) Ooten of Naples, Fla.; two stepsons, Charles W. Smith of Macon, Ga., and Don (Barbara) Smith of Wilmington; three daughters, Georgia (Jack) Hopping of Easley, S.C., Alice Goldsberry of Englewood, and Brenda (Danny) Miller of Wilmington; two stepdaughters, Nancy (Frank) Wilt of Michigan, and Carol from Missouri; a sister, Mable Sherrill of Livingston, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Sherry Cassels, Rick Ooten, Kathy Ooten Saxton, John Cooper, Kris Hughes and Wayne Hughes; six stepgrandchildren, Kenny Stollings, Sharon Vickers, Jackie Smith, Mike Smith, David Smith and Gary Smith; several great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a stepson, Ron Scott; a stepdaughter, Dorothy Stollings; and several brothers and sisters.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Assembly of God Church, 609 W. Locust St., Wilmington, the Rev. Richard Bracht officiating, with burial in Clinton Memory Gardens, under the direction of REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington. Visitation will be from noon until time of the services Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Autumn Years Nursing Center Activities Fund, 580 E. Washington St., Sabina, 45169.
Milfred L. Cochran-Clement
Died: Thursday, April 18, 2002
Age: 59
Mildred L. Cochran-Clement, 59, of Blanchester, died Thursday (April 18, 2002) at The Christ Hospital, Cincinnati.
She was born Jan. 19, 1943, in Wilmington, daughter of the late James F. Mathias and Mary R. Creighton.
She is survived by two children, John (Kay) Cochran of Tennessee and Carol (Edward) Calloway of Fayetteville; six grandchildren; and a brother, Cloyd Miller of Cincinnati.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Miller.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at TUFTS SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, the Rev. John Poe officiating, with burial in Jefferson Township Cemetery, Westboro. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Joe C. Brummett
Died: Wednesday, April 17, 2002
Age: 76
Joe C. Brummett, 76, of West Union, died Wednesday (April 17, 2002) at The Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Brummett.
Mr. Brummett was born Dec. 18, 1925, in Pineville Ky., son of the late Rufus Brummett and Martha Brock.
He is survived by nine children, numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; five brothers; and a sister.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a child.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Goshen Church of God, Hill Station Road, Goshen, Brother James Earl McKinney officiating, with burial in Goshen Cemetery, Goshen. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at TUFTS SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1668 SR 28, Goshen.
Wilmer Marshall Foor
Died: Wednesday, April 17, 2002
Age: 83
Wilmer Marshall Foor, 83, of Blanchester, died Thursday (April 11, 2002) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Colletta D. Foor of Blanchester. They were married 56 years.
Mr. Foor was born April 16, 1919, in Robertsdale, Pa., son of the late Wilmer M. and Mary Ann Wolfe Foor. He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and retired as chief hospitalman on Dec. 9, 1958.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael R. (Tracey Edwards-Foor) Foor of Blanchester; and four grandchildren, China Leigh Foor of Blanchester, Sean M. (Sonya) Foor of Cincinnati, Reagan M. (Scott) Hutchison of Cincinnati and Serina N. Foor of Marietta, Ga.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary L. Foor.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at TUFTS SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, the Rev. Jan Michael Schaedel officiating, with burial in Blanchester I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Blanchester. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Alberta M. Grove
Died: Wednesday, April 17, 2002
Age: 72
Alberta M. Grove, 72, of Sabina, died Wednesday (April 17, 2002) at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Grove. They were married May 21, 1955.
Mrs. Grove was born Oct. 2, 1929, in Brown County, daughter of Elden and Ida Brewer Reed.
She is survived by five children, Sam Grisham of Mt. Orab, Gary Grisham of Piqua, Harvey Grove of Wilmington, Marty Grove of Springfield and Roxanne Gower of Sabina; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elden Lee Reed and Larry Gene Reed; and a sister, Dorothy Morgan.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and four sisters.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family Friday at Mt. Orab Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina.
Edwin W. Stults
Died: Wednesday, April 17, 2002
Age: 80
Edwin W. Stults, 80, of 347 Florence Ave., Wilmington, died Wednesday (April 17, 2002) at Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Residence. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth C. Caldwell. He is survived by his second wife of 18 years, Ariel Fricke Stults.
Mr. Stults was born in 1921, in Huntington County, Ind., son of the late Ora and Orpha Stults. He retired from Cincinnati Milacron Company after over 43 years of service. He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, Oakley Lodge 668 in Cincinnati and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Cincinnati. He was Scoutmaster of Troop 46 of Friends Church for several years and served on the Anthony Wayne District Committee. He was a member of Wilmington City Council for two years.
In addition to his second wife, he is survived by two sons, Edwin W. Stults Jr. of Linwood, Mich., and George C. Stults of Cincinnati; a daughter, Patricia McNichol of Pickerington; a sister, Pauline Barker of Huntington, Ind.; a brother, Gene J. Stults of Marion, Ind.; eighth grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; four stepchildren, Gus Fricke, Steve Fricke, Liane Fox and Lisa Bourque; eight step-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild.
In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil and George Stults.
There will be no funeral services or visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
