Richard Mullins

Age: 63
Richard Mullins, 63, of Lynchburg, died Sunday (April 6, 2003) at Heartland of Hillsboro. He is survived by his wife, Sue Pickering Mullins. They were married July 18, 1959, in Maysville, Ky.
Mr. Mullins was born March 17, 1940, in Floyd County, Ky., son of the late Frank and Hattie Little Mullins. He had worked for Highland Stone, a division of the Davon Corporation, for over 42 years as a concrete technician. He was a member and elder of the Lynchburg First Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Debbie (Mike) Mount, Cheryl (Garyn) Waits and Natasha Mullins, all of Lynchburg; a son, Jerry Mullins of Lynchburg; eight grandchildren, Travis, Danielle and Desarae Mount, Felicia, River and A. Mullins and Gage and Lexi Waits, all of Lynchburg; three brothers, Julius (Juanita) Mullins of Melvin, Ky., Gene (Wilma) Mullins of Fairborn and Bulius (Patsy) Mullins of Enon; two sisters, Fonetta (Jack) Hilterbran of Peebles and Marcella Hilterbran of Nicholasville, Ky.; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Netta Pickering of Helen, Ga.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Mullins, who died July 13, 1987; and a brother, Jim Mullins.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Lynchburg First Church of Christ, Rick Godlove officiating, with burial in the Troutwine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lynchburg First Church of Christ, P.O. Box 391, Lynchburg, 45142. Kathleen W. Clark
Died: Thursday, April 3, 2003
Age: 79
Kathleen W. Clark, 79, of the Rainsboro community, died 10:25 a.m. Thursday (April 3, 2003) at the Crestwood Nursing Home, Hillsboro. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George G. Graham, and her second husband, Clarence C. Clark.
Mrs. Clark was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Adams County, daughter of Ethel C. Brooks Hoffer of Wilmington and the late James L. Hoffer. She was retired from Robert Shaw Controls in Hillsboro. She was a member of the Rainsboro United Methodist Church. She graduated from Kingman High School in Clinton County.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by four sons, Dana L. (Sherri) Clark of Bainbridge, Jerald C. (Carol) Clark of Loveland, James R. (Kathy) Clark of Irvine, Calif., and Wayne O. (Patricia) Clark of Washington Court House; a daughter, Marian A. (Charles) Dodds of Hillsboro; three brothers, Wade (Martha) Hoffer of Spring Valley, Russell (Rose Mary) Hoffer of Wilmington and Teddy (Shirley) Hoffer of Xenia; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Hoffer of Wilmington and Beverly Hoffer of Hillsboro; a sister, Marie (John) Williamson of Wilmington; 14 grandchildren, Gina L. Clark, Tara E. Clark, Rachel Clark, Michael (Kathy) Clark, Donald (Angie) Clark, David Clark, Theresa Clark, Amy (Eric) Kline, Janet Dodds, Becky (Michael) Crabtree, Ruth (Craig) Cutright, Shelly Clark, Jill (Tom) Koskinen and Mary Clark; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her first husband, second husband and father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Georgia Kay Graham; and two brothers, Carl Hoffer and David Hoffer.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, the Rev. Janie Shoemaker officiating, with burial in the Woodland Cemetery, Xenia. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Eldon "Dutch" A. Hickey
Died: Wednesday, April 2, 2003
Age: 75
Eldon "Dutch" A. Hickey Sr., 75, of Seaman, died Wednesday (April 2, 2003) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ross Hickey of Seaman. They were married for 52 years.
Mr. Hickey was born April 11, 1927, in Clermont County, son of the late Alvin and Maudie Mayne Hickey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was associated with the Bible Baptist Church of West Union. He was a member of the Goshen Masonic Lodge 332 and the Cincinnati Carpenter Union Local 2.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Floyd (Sue) Hickey of Seaman, Lloyd (Christine) Hickey of Seaman and Eldon (Kimberly) Hickey Jr. of Seaman; three daughters, Charlene (Jim) Hull of Seaman, Darlene (Jim) Tadlock of Winchester and Judy (Tom) Cross of Winchester; 16 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; five brothers, Gordon Hickey of Blanchester, Jack Hickey of Hillsboro, Claude Hickey of Blanchester, Art Hickey of Cincinnati and Woodrow Hickey of Texas; and three sisters, Thelma Wilson of Wilmington, N.C., Loris Garrison of Blanchester and Zella Mae Johnson of Wapakoneta.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Truman Hickey and Evan Hickey.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the LEWIS-SULLIVAN FUNERAL HOME, 18029 SR 247, Seaman, the Rev. Bill Webb and the Rev. Tim Carter officiating, with burial in Cherry Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Masonic services held at 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Hope, 1 W. Jack J. Foster
Died: Monday, March 31, 2003
Age: 77
Jack J. Foster, 77, of 3166 SR 134 South, Wilmington, died 6:15 a.m. Monday (March 31, 2003) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, June Robinson Foster. They were married April 7, 1951.
Mr. Foster was born Sept. 2, 1925, in Burtonville, son of the late A.S. and Pearl Irene Howe Foster. He was the owner-operator of Clinton Well Drillers for 38 years. He graduated from Wilmington High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Evelyn Becker, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Foster, Harry Foster and Charles Foster; and two sisters, Mary V. Eberwine and Dorothy Sanderson.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, the Rev. Donald K. Mertz officiating, with military honors accorded by the American Legion Post 49 memorial squad. Burial will be held 11 a.m. April 8 at the New Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Clinton County, 61 E. Main St., Wilmington.
Ruth Louise McChesney
Died: Sunday, March 30, 2003
Age: 88
Ruth Louise McChesney Meddock, 88, of Bowersville, died Sunday afternoon (March 30, 2003) at Greene Memorial Hospital, Xenia. She had been in failing health for two years. She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Meddock, who died in January. They were married for 68 years.
Mrs. Meddock was born Nov. 23, 1914, in Sedan in Scioto County, daughter of the late Renwick Blaine and Harriet Mae Bonner McChesney. She drove a school bus for the Jefferson Township Schools from 1943 to 1948, served on the Bowersville Board of Elections for 28 years and worked as a deputy registrar for five years. She was a member of the Jamestown Church of Christ in Jamestown. She graduated in 1932 from the Rarden High School in Rarden. She enjoyed gardening and possessed a "green thumb." As long as her health permitted, she liked to sew, crochet and read. She was the last member of her immediate family.
She is survived by two daughters, Eileen (Paul) Richardson of Jamestown and Margene (Richard) Hargrave of Xenia; four grandchildren, Debra L. (Kelly) Guthrie of Jamestown, Robert P. (Angilina) Richardson of Jamestown, Steven E. (Elizabeth A.) Hargrave of Roswell, Ga., and Sharon A. (Tal) Steiner of Grove City; six great-grandchildren, Crystal L. (Matthew) Guisleman of Wilmington, Korinne L. Guthrie, Kyle J. Guthrie, Taylor C. Richardson, all of Jamestown, Emma G. Hargrave of Roswell, Ga., and Matthew D. Steiner of Grove City; two sister-in-laws, Geneva Conley McChesney of New Richmond and Beulah Meddock Rulon of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy McChesney, Ernest McChesney, Richard McChesney and Robert McChesney; and two sisters, Mary McChesney Meddock and Lenora McChesney Smalley.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the POWERS FUNERAL HOME, 12 N. Limestone St., Jamestown, with burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Bowersville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, 24 N. Jefferson St., Dayton, 45402-2018.
Charles "Buck" V. Wright
Died: Thursday, March 27, 2003
Age: 87
Charles V. "Buck" Wright, 87, died peacefully in his sleep March 27, 2003, in Northport, Fla. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Brackney Wright. They were married for 60 years.
Mr. Wright was born Nov. 23, 1915, in Melvin. He had retired as a machinist with General Motors in Dayton and was a farmer for 30 years in Clinton County. He was a Mason. He had lived for 28 years in Preble County. In 1981, he moved to Florida.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Lillian (Ed) Robinette of Dayton, RaeAnna Guckian of Dayton and Peggy (Randy) Elliott of Chardon; a son, Rodney B. (Linda) Wright of Buford, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held March 30 at the Holiday Park Clubhouse, Holiday Park Mobile Home Park, Northport, Fla. A private memorial service will be held in Ohio at a later date to be announced.
