Doris G. Kuehn

Age: 90
Doris G. Kuehn, 90, of Columbus, formerly of Sabina, died Monday (June 17, 2002) at First Community Village, Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer W. Kuehn, who died Dec. 23, 1972. They were married June 4, 1938.
Mrs. Kuehn was born June 29, 1911, near White, S.D., daughter of the late Fred A. and Mary I. Cotherman Slamp. She graduated in 1929 from White High School and in 1934 from South Dakota State College. She taught commercial courses at Arlington High School in South Dakota before her marriage. In 1949, she moved to Lebanon with her husband and four sons. In Lebanon, she was active in the Presbyterian Church, the Cedar City Garden Club and the Cub Scouts. In 1955, the Kuehns moved to Sabina after purchasing Sabina Farmers Exchange, which continues to operate. Before moving from Sabina to Columbus, she was a faithful member of the Sabina United Methodist Church, an active volunteer at Clinton Memorial Hospital and a board member of the Clinton County chapter of the American Cancer Society. A gentle, kind and loving soul, she touched thousands of lives with her caring, generous spirit and humble nature. She will be missed so much, but remembered so warmly by all.
She is survived by four sons, Edwin (Ann) Kuehn of Sabina, James (Sue) Kuehn of Upper Arlington, John (Barbara) Kuehn of Centerville and Thomas (Linda) Kuehn of East Bridgewater, Mass.; 17 grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; a devoted sister, Roberta (Jack) Tharpe of Naples, Fla.; and a niece, Jann (James) Slayton of Wausau, Wis.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William C. Slamp.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Sabina United Methodist Church, with burial in Sabina Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dream Factory, P.O. Box 823, Wilmington, 45177; the Sabina Historical Endowment Fund or the Sabina 2000 Endowment Fund, each in care of the Clinton County Foundation, National Bank & Trust, Wilmington, 45177; Clinton Memorial Hospital Foundation, Wilmington; or to Hospice, in care of Riverside Hospital, Columbus.
Roger E. Beam
Died: Sunday, June 16, 2002
Age: 65
Roger E. Beam, 65, of Xenia, died Sunday evening (June 16, 2002) at his home after fighting a courageous battle with a brain tumor. His wife, Sue Ann Ater Beam, and his children were by his side. Mr. and Mrs. Beam were married Jan. 10, 1958, in Xenia.
Mr. Beam was born Sept. 9, 1956, at home in Xenia, son of the late Lawrence Albert and Veda Hiatt Beam. He was a well-known farmer and contractor and a lifetime resident of Greene County. For over 44 years, he and his wife have been area grain and livestock farmers and owners of Beam Excavating. He and his son, Marty Beam, owned Beam Valley Farms. He graduated from Spring Valley High School and attended The Ohio State University, where he studied agriculture. He was a member of Top Farmers of Ohio, Premium Agriculture Commodities Inc., Faith Community United Methodist Church and American Quarter Horses Association. He was on the Spring Valley Township Zoning Board of Appeals and supported various agriculture clubs throughout his life.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Marty (Nancy) Beam of Waynesville; three daughters, Tammy (Rod) Walford of Waynesville, Michaella (David) Quallen of Xenia and Heather (Todd) Lucas of Jamestown; nine grandchildren, Mary and Daniel Beam, triplets Kirk, Brittany and Mack Walford, C.R. and Halcy Quallen and Lane and Grace Ann Lucas; a sister, Helen (Jim) Wickline; two nephews, Marcus and Doug Wickline; and two aunts, Lerline Beam and Hazel Bone.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Faith Community United methodist Church, 100 Country Club Drive, Xenia, the Rev. Robert McDowell officiating, with burial Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at NEELD FUNERAL HOME, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Kenneth C. "Kenny" Irwin
Died: Sunday, June 16, 2002
Age: 48
Kenneth C. "Kenny" Irwin, 48, of New Vienna, died 5:33 p.m. Sunday (June 16, 2002) at The Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine "Geri" Irwin. They were married Dec. 24, 1994.
Mr. Irwin was born Aug. 27, 1953, in Wilmington, son of the late Clyde E. and Erma M. Little Irwin. He worked at Huhtamaki Plastics (formerly Packaging Resources) in New Vienna. He was a member of the New Vienna Church of Christ. He graduated from East Clinton High School.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John Moore of New Vienna; three daughters, Kristin Garrison of Sabina, Lissa Garrison of Greenfield and Angel Hatfield of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Christopher Hatfield, Tesla Hatfield and Corey Smith; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at L. EUGENE SMITH & SON FUNERAL HOME, 64 S. South St., New Vienna, Sidney Clay and the Rev. Rob Maggard officiating, with burial in New Vienna I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5400 Dupont Circle, Suite J, Milford, 45150.
James O. Garrison
Died: Saturday, June 15, 2002

James O. Garrison, 48, of Bowersville, died Saturday (June 15, 2002) at Kettering Medical Center.
Mr. Garrison was born Sept. 11, 1953 in Wilmington, son of James L. Garrison of Wilmington and the late Joanna Freeland Garrison. He was retired from Twist Manufacturing in Jamestown. Mr. Garrison graduated from Wilmington High School.
In addition to his father, Mr. Garrison is survived by his stepmother, Betty Garrison of Wilmington; three children, James J. Garrison of Bowersville, Jennifer (Michael) Short of Proctorville, and Brian Garrison of Pedro; four grandchildren, Kayla Marie Garrison, Matthew Short, Justin Short, and Brittany Short; four sisters, Louella Fae King of Okawville, Ill., Charlotte Mae Redman of St. Louis, Teresa Jeanette Colthar of Wilmington and Glenda Jean Moody of Jamestown; and a brother, Larry Michael Garrison of Wilmington.
In addition to his mother, a grandchild preceded Mr. Garrison in death.
The funeral service will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St. in Sabina, with interment in the Miller Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Georgia M. Bozell

Georgia M. Bozell, 106, of 75 Hale St., Wilmington, formerly of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Summitville, Ind., died 8:45 a.m. Friday (June 14, 2002) at Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Bozell, who died May 10, 1987. They were married Sept. 2, 1914.
Mrs. Bozell was born Dec. 17, 1895, in Marion, Ind., daughter of the late Arthur and Elva Davidson Overman.
She is survived by a son, Harold Bozell of Palmetto, Fla.; a daughter, Dorothy M. Allen of Wilmington; five grandchildren, John (Nancy) Allen of Ithaca, Mich., Hal (Sue) Allen of Wilmington, Paula (Bob) Knight of Arcadia, Fla., Sharon (Gary) Jones of Palmetto, Fla., and David (Julie) Bozell of Bradenton, Fla.; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Bozell.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at KELLY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 5221 Eighth St., Zephyrhills, Fla., with burial in Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto, Fla. Local arrangements are under the direction of REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington.
Mary Elizabeth Redkey

Mary Elizabeth Redkey
Mary Elizabeth Keller Redkey, 83, of Worthington, died Friday (June 14, 2002) at New Albany Care Center. Her husband of more than 60 years, Cleo C. Redkey, preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Blanchester, and was a 60-year member of Carey Chapter 221 O.E.S.
She is survived by two daughters, Kay [Roger] Johnson, and Diane Lowman; and four grandchildren, Barry [Christal] Johnson, Kathryn Meyers, Aric Johnson and Danielle Johnson.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Blanchester I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Burn Institute, Grace United Methodist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
