Lillian B. Ellis, 88, of Wilmington, died 12:05 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 9, 2003) at her residence. Her husband, Paul F. Ellis, survives. They were married Aug. 21, 1947.
Mrs. Ellis was born Jan. 26, 1915, in Norwood, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Troesher Boutet. Mrs. Ellis was a homemaker. She attended the Wilmington Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ellis is survived by three sons, Ronald (Nancy) Gleis of Cincinnati, Harry (Maurene) Gleis of Loveland and Kevin (Mary) Ellis of Wilmington; a daughter, Paula Jean (Sam) Schiml of West Alexandria; a brother, Carl Boutet of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren, Tracy Brown, Shelly Williams, Deann Ramey, Stephen Gleis, Mark Gleis, Jared Ellis and Brady Ellis; nine great-grandchildren, Adam Hardwick, Marissa Gleis, Chelsea Gleis, Morgan Ramey, Michael Ramey, McKenzie Gleis, Meghan Gleis, Paul Brown and Alexander Brown; and 16 nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward Boutet, John Boutet, Howard Boutet and William Boutet.
The funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at the REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St. in Wilmington, Keith Dimbath officiating, with interment in the Sugar Grove Cemetery. Donald "Donnie" E. Crisp

Age: 58
Donald E. “Donnie” Crisp, 58, of New Vienna, died Thursday evening (Aug. 7, 2003) at his home. He is survived by his wife, Anette Dickerson Crisp. They were married Aug. 31, 1996, in Kentucky.
Mr. Crisp was born April 29, 1945, in Grayson, Ky., son of Magdeline Flannery Crisp Alent of Kentucky and the late Donald Leroy Crisp. He was a self-employed contractor and insurance agent. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church in New Vienna. He was a Kentucky Colonel and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (William) Smith of St. Paris and Heather (Timothy) Cooper of Urbana; two stepdaughters, Kristina Lilly and Angela Lilly of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Chloe and Olivia Cooper and Emily Smith; five stepgrandchildren, Chasity, Chase, Brittany, Jeffery and Brandon Lilly; a sister, Debbie (Clide) Nickels of Kentucky; and a niece, Francine McNiece of Kentucky.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Rocky Branch Enterprise Baptist Church in Sandy Hook, Ky., Pastor Keith Perkins officiating, with burial in the Crisp-Redwine Family Cemetery in Sandy Hook, Ky. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church, 7741 SR 350, New Vienna, and from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the Rocky Branch Enterprise Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the TURNER & SON FUNERAL HOME, 602 N. High St., Hillsboro.
Robert "Bob" J. Rose

Age: 62
Robert “Bob” J. Rose, 62, of Midland, died Thursday (Aug. 7, 2003) at his home. He is survived by his wife, Darla Goodin Rose of Midland.
Mr. Rose was born July 31, 1941, in Blanchester, son of the late Robert Rose and Fannie Tracey.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Bobby (Crista) Rose Jr. of Midland, Tina Rose of Wilmington and Tony Rose of Tampa Bay, Fla.; four brothers, Russell Rose, Terry Rose, Gary Rose and David Rose; eight sisters, Carol Dameron, Kathryn Sinclair, Barbara Richard, Sheila Tedrick, Irene Shields, Geraldine Feck, Betty Green and Sharon Hawkey; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be held 8 p.m. Monday at TUFTS SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, the Rev. Terry Rose, the Rev. Betty Green and Pastor Barbara Richard officiating. Verna L. Schock
Died: Thursday, August 07, 2003
Age: 94
Verna L. Schock, 94, of Clarksville, died Thursday (Aug. 7, 2003) at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Schock, who died in 1989.
Mrs. Schock was born Sept. 3, 1908, daughter of the late Sim and Cinda Reece Hobbs. She was of the Holiness faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty (C.H.) Hollingsworth, Wilmington; three grandchildren, Debbie (Curt) Moore of Springboro, Lori Schaffner of Marysville and Daniel Hollingsworth of Springboro; three great-grandchildren, Abby, Courtney and David Ryan; a sister, Edna Moore of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raleigh and Waid Hobbs.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at STUBBS-CONNER FUNERAL HOME, Waynesville, assistant Pastor Jeremy Stout and the Rev. Walter Lamb officiating, with burial in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Jane H. Cluley

Age: 47
Jane H. Cluley, 47, of Atlanta, formerly of Wilmington, died Wednesday (Aug. 6, 2003) at Joan Glancy Hospital, Atlanta.
She was born June 5, 1956, in Washington Court House, daughter of Bess Stamm of Wilmington and the late Norman H. Stamm. She was a project manager at NCR. She was a member of the Sabina Friends Church. She graduated in 1974 from East Clinton High School.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two children, Kate Cluley of Dayton and Len Cluley of Wilmington; two sisters, Karen Lambert and Vicki Stamm; and a brother, John Stamm.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family, with burial in Sabina Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the East Clinton Band, East Clinton FFA, Sabina Library or Sabina 2000. Arrangements are under the direction of LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina.
James Paul Spahr

Age: 78
James Paul Spahr, 78, of Milford, died Tuesday (Aug. 5, 2003) in Miami Township. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Spahr.
Mr. Spahr was born July 1, 1925, in Owensville, son of the late James Cleveland Spahr and Dora Viola Smith. He had retired as an electrician from Nutone. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas J. Spahr and Robert (Jackie) Spahr; a daughter, Sharon K. Panetta; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 741 Center St., Milford, the Rev. Dwight Hesson and the Rev. Tim Nowlin officiating, with burial in Graceland Memorial Gardens, Milford.
