David Llwellyn Martin

Age: 88
David Llwellyn Martin, 88, of 51 College St., New Vienna, died 12:45 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 30, 2003) at Clinton Memorial Hospital. His wife of 61 years, Doris Mae Palmer Martin survives. They were married July 13, 1942.
Mr. Martin was born May 5, 1915 in Dublin, Ohio, son of the late Forest H. and Anna Parker Martin. He was a 1934 graduate of New Vienna High School. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served 25 months of active duty in the Pacific with the 5th Air Force Service Command, which supplied and maintained the 5th Air Force. He was a member of the 59th Air Service Group, which gained wide recognition when, on a few hours notice, it prepared planes and supplied the move of the 11th Airborne Division from Okinawa into Japan on the original occupation wave. He also saw service in New Guinea, the Netherlands, East India, the Philippines and Okinawa. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater ribbon with campaign stars for the New Guinea and Southern Philippines campaigns and the Philippines Liberation ribbon. He retired in 1980 from Irwin Auger Bit after working there for 33 years. He attended the Word Of Life Christian Center.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Larry David (Sharon Kay) Martin of Martinsville; and two grandchildren, Brian Lee Martin of Martinsville and Carrie Beth Martin of Martinsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gayle Elaine Martin; and a brother, Ronald Martin.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the L. EUGENE SMITH AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 64 S. South St., New Vienna, with Pastor Charles Ellison and Pastor James Brown officiating. Burial will be in the New Vienna I.O.O.F. Cemetery, with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 49 memorial squad. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Frank L. Morotn
Died: Tuesday, September 30, 2003
Age: 64
Frank L. Morton, 64, of Sabina, died Tuesday (Sept. 30, 2003) at Clinton Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Morton was born June 24, 1939, in Wayne Township, son of Mary E. Watson Morton of Sabina and the late John J. Morton. He was a retired farmer in Wayne Township and was a member of the United Church of Christ in Lees Creek. He was a 1957 graduate of Simon Kenton High School.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Eddie and Mark Morton, both of Sabina.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, William.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, with burial in the Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek. Jesse W. Woodhouse

Age: 89
Jesse W. Woodhouse, 89, of New Carlisle, died Monday (Sept. 29, 2003) at Community Hospital, Springfield. His wife, Airebell, preceded him in death.
Mr. Woodhouse was born in Springfield, son of the late John R. and Cecile May Reames Woodhouse. He was a retired metal finisher for Navistar. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 286 in New Carlisle, VFW Post 9966 in New Carlisle and AMVETS Post 148. He was a vice president and chairman of the board of the Navistar Credit Union for 18 years. He was a volunteer at the Elderly United in New Carlisle.
He is survived by a son, Robert (Sharon) Woodhouse of Wilmington; three daughters, Linda Woodhouse of New Carlisle, Patricia (Emerson) Gentner of Xenia and Jerrie (Edgar) Moore of Melbourne, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Daniel (Delores) Woodhouse of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a sister, Iva Blevins of Melbourne, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Genevia Eubanks of Littlefield, Mich., Betty (Joe) Hess of South Charleston and Mayme (Ray) Bruner of Dayton; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Jr.; a granddaughter, Debra Sue Van Bibber; a great-grandson, Roy Edgar Bynum; a brother, Robert J. Woodhouse; and two sisters, Bertha Woodhouse and Mae Mayhew.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN & CHRISTMAS FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Brandon "Bo" G. Moberly
Died: Monday, September 29, 2003
Age: 18
Brandon G. “Bo” Moberly, 18, of 399 Ogden Road, Wilmington, died Monday, September 29, 2003 in a work-related accident on Starbuck Road in Clinton County.
Mr. Moberly was born March 19, 1985, in Wilmington, son of Gerald L. “Moe” Moberly and Teresa Moberly of Wilmington. He was a 2003 graduate of Clinton-Massie High School. He was employed by the Clinton County Highway Department. He attended the First Church of God and was a member of the C Square Truck Club in Wilmington.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Britney Harrison of Wilmington; grandparents, Dewey and Donna Gallimore of Wilmington and Louise Moberly of Buford; aunts and uncles, Mike (Pam) Lewis of Wilmington, Eugene Moberly of Buford, Glen (Cindy) Moberly of Buford, Ronnie (Linda) Moberly of Buford and Larry (Erma) Moberly of Buford; a nephew, Bryson Harrison of Wilmington; as well as several cousins.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, Pastor Bob Johnston officiating, with burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Bowersville. Matthew Jay Colson

Age: 33
Matthew Jay Colson, 33, died Sept. 28, 2003, in Orlando, Fla., as a result of a motor vehicle crash.
Mr. Colson was born April 18, 1970, in Dayton, son of Diane Atkins of Dayton and the late Charles S. Colson. He was a self-employed painter since 1989 in the central Florida area. He graduated in 1989 from Clinton-Massie High School, where he was an all-star football and baseball player.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three brothers, Todd (Antoinette) Colson of Albuquerque, N.M., and Brian Colson and Bradley Colson, both of Centerville; two sisters, Stephanie Dramis of Huber Heights and Alicia Colson of Centerville; his stepfather, Robert Atkins of Wilmington; his stepmother, Jan Colson of Centerville; his grandmothers, Janice Allen of St. Cloud, Fla., Joyce Atkins of Wilmington and Betty Morris of Pensacola, Fla.; two nieces, Michaela and Madison Dramis; two nephews, Trevor and Sean Colson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Donald P. Allen and Leroy Atkins; and a cousin, Amy Braccio.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Oct. 18 at Wilmington Church of God, Pastor June Looney officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
David R. Butts
Died: Sunday, September 28, 2003
Age: 66
David R. Butts, 66, of Wilmington, died 1:15 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 28, 2003) at his residence.
Mr. Butts was born Dec. 21, 1936, son of the late Charles and Carole Riddle Butts Sherman. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.
He is survived by four sons, Rick (Cindy) Butts of Texas, Jeff (Joanne) Butts of Sabina, Scott (Mary) Lander of Martinsville and Michael Butts of Wilmington; four daughters, Donna Begley of Mason, Karen West of Chickasaw, Okla., Sharon (Cliff) Meager of Waynesville and Rebecca Adams of Hamilton; a brother, Dick (Mary) Butts; 19 grandchildren; four nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington. Visitation will be from noon until time of the services Saturday at the funeral home.
