Connie Hamilton Conner, 71, of Wilmington, formerly of Cambridge, died Wednesday (Dec. 3, 2003) at her home.
She was born Oct. 5, 1932, in Phoenix, Ariz., daughter of the late William and Dolores Noriega Hamilton. She had retired from the former Cambridge State Hospital as a TPW and currently worked as a nursing assistant at Clinton Memorial Hospital in the emergency department. She graduated in 1952 in Byesville High School. She was Catholic by faith.
She is survived by her life-long love, Clyde Conner of Mineral Ridge; three sons, Raymond Conner of Wilmington, Paul (Darlene) Conner of Youngstown and Clayton (Patricia) Conner of Cambridge; two daughters, Cindy (Steve) Webb of Sabina and Nancy (Kenneth) Frump of Lynchburg; four brothers, Edward (Helen) Hamilton of Dalzell, S.C., John Hamilton of Byesville, Thomas (Bonnie) Hamilton of Arizona and Bob (Debbie) Hamilton of Old Washington; a sister, Anita K. (George) Azevedo of Tracey, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Kimberly Valentine and Tabitha Conner.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at BLACK FAMILY FUNERAL SERVICES INC., 231 E. Main St., Byesville, the Rev. Randolph White officiating, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
Ruthanna Bond Gallagher
Died: Wednesday, January 14, 2004
Ruthanna Bond Gallagher of Jamestown died Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2004). She was preceded in death by her first husband, George E. Bond, and her second husband, William J. Gallagher. She and her second husband lived for 36 years at 3685 Corry Road, Jamestown.
Mrs. Gallagher was born Nov. 1, 1921, in Clarksville, daughter of the late Clem J. and Edith May Camp Gray. She was a member of the Biblical Christian Church of God. She had lived with her daughter, Joy Ann Bond of Xenia, for the past 16 years.
She is survived by a sister, Genevieve Shreve of Xenia, Calif., and a daughter, Joy A. Bond of Xenia.
In addition to her first and second husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, William E. Bond.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday at McCOLAUGH FUNERAL HOME INC., 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, Ance Cates officiating, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bowersville. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southwest Ohio Renal Care Inc., 215 S. Thelma Lucas

Age: 86
Thelma Lucas, 86, of Blanchester, died Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2004) at Blanchester Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Lucas, who died in 1988.
Mrs. Lucas was born May 13, 1917, in Barefoot, Ky., daughter of the late Noah Florence and Lillie Medlin. She was a member of the 20th Century Club, Wilmington Friends Meeting, Seniors Bridge Club and Blanchester Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two children, Judy Tingle of Blanchester and Robert Dean Lucas of Corpus Christi, Texas; a brother, Leroy Florence of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; a sister, Mildred Hawthorne of Blanchester; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Glen R. Lucas, who died in 1994; and two brothers, Roscoe and Arthur Dick Florence.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at TUFTS SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, Pastor Mary Banner officiating, with burial in the Blanchester I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Blanchester. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert E. Dorothy L. Wilson

Age: 86
Dorothy L. Wilson, 86, of Wilmington, died 7:48 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2004) at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard J. Wilson, who died Jan. 26, 1990. they were married March 8, 1938.
Mrs. Wilson was born Dec. 8, 1917, in Port William, daughter of the late Harper J. and Gertrude Elizabeth James Ellison. She retired in 1985 after 21 years serving as a cook for Wilmington High School. She was a member of the Wilmington Church of Christ, D.A.R and the Wilmington Senior Citizens. She graduated in 1936 from Wilmington High School.
She is survived by three sons, Roger (Lou Ellen) Wilson of Xenia, Ronald (Kathy) Wilson of Naples, Fla., and Robert (Tammy) Wilson of Wilmington; two daughters, Jean (Chuck) Black of Wilmington and Janet Wilson of Blanchester; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a cousin, Jack Daughtery; and her cat and special buddy, Rascal.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Truesdell Street, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ Building Fund, 909 W. Locust St., Wilmington, 45177. Arrangements are under the direction of REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington.
Robert E. Walker
Died: Wednesday, January 14, 2004
Age: 77
Robert E. Walker, 77, of Sabina, died Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2004) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Matson Walker. They were married Dec. 30, 1946.
He was born son of the late Sherman H. and Helen Aey Walker of Wilmington. He retired in 1987 from Dayton Power & Light company after 42 years of service and recently retired from VRI after 12 years of service. He operated a television and antenna repair shop for over 50 years and was associated with Littleton Funeral Home for several years. He also was a drummer in several area dance bands. He was a member and past master of Sabina Masonic Lodge 324 F&AM; member of Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati and Aladdin Temple of Shrine, past district educational officer of the Eighth District Wilmington York Rite Masons and past president of the Clinton County Shrine Club. He was a member of the Sabina Methodist Church and was instrumental in organizing and was a member of the Sabina Area Christian Men’s Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Connie (Gregory) Cady of Powell; three grandchildren, Kelly (Michael) Sowers of Powell, Bradley (Ericka) Cady of Westerville and Robert (Lisa) Cady of Dublin; four great-grandchildren, Dorian and Andra Cady and Jordan and Rachel Sowers; a brother, Frank (Mary Lou) Raymond Walker of Cincinnati; and a sister-in-law, Doris Craig Walker of Wilmington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard O. and John H. Walker, and a half sister, Virginia Thompson.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday at LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, with burial in Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and will be followed by Masonic services at 8 p.m.

Teresa L. Vinup Harrison, 37, of Port William, died Tuesday (Jan. 13, 2004) at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington.
She was the daughter of Beverly Ross Sheeley. She was a caregiver at Clinton County MR/DD. She graduated in 1985 from East Clinton High School.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Edward and Ryan Vinup of Wilmington; a daughter, Brittany Vinup of Wilmington; two sisters, Carol Knisley of Sabina and Becky Newman of Wilmington; and two brothers, Floyd Newman of New Vienna and Danny Sheeley Jr. of Wilmington.

Teresa L. Vinup Harrison, 37, of Port William, died Tuesday (Jan. 13, 2004) at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington.

Richard "Dick" Perry
Died: Tuesday, January 13, 2004
Age: 60
Richard “Dick” Perry, 60, of Wilmington, died 11:30 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 13, 2004) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Kay” Perry. They were married June 11, 1966.
Mr. Perry was born Nov. 19, 1943, in New Richmond, son of Betty Jo McCann Perry of Seaman and the late Orville Lee Perry. He retired in 2000 from Quality Quaker Management after 20 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 49. He enjoyed bowling and golf. He attended the First Church of God in Wilmington. He graduated in 1961 from Sardinia High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Richard Perry Jr. of Wilmington and Matthew (Nicole) Perry of Jamestown; a daughter, Tara (Craig) Michael of Sabina; a brother, Roger Perry of Seaman; a sister, Kaye Perry of Peebles; three grandchildren, Latisha Perry, Austin Michael and Griffen Perry; two stepgrandchildren, Malacai McDufford and Aria Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death a brother, David “Dobe” Perry.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, the Rev. Ray Storer officiating, with burial in Locust Grove Cemetery, Peebles. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
