Everett Leroy Harvey

Age: 93
Everett Leroy Harvey, 93, of Otterbein in Lebanon, formerly of Clarksville, died 12:55 a.m. Friday (Jan. 16, 2004) at Otterbein. He is survived by his wife, Clara Sewell Harvey. They were married Feb. 15, 1937.
Mr. Harvey was born Aug. 27, 1910, in Clarksville, son of the late Charles Eli and Bessie Hoover Harvey. He worked for 30 years, from 1942 to 1972, at National Cash Register. He was a member of the Clarksville F&AM Lodge 323, the Scottish Rite-Valley of Cincinnati and a former member of the men’s choir at Otterbein. He was clerk-treasurer of the Clarksville Vernon Board of Education from 1947 to 1960 and the Clinton-Massie Board of Education from 1960 to 1974. He was a member of the Clarksville United Methodist Church. He graduated in 1928 from Clarksville Vernon High School and attended Wilmington College.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Timothy A. (Susan) Harvey of Grandview Heights; three daughters, Suzanne Harvey (William) Madison of Neptune Beach, Fla., Judith Harvey Briggs of Wilmington and Pamela Harvey (William) Dase of Powell; two sisters-in-law, Haskell Sewell of Lebanon and Juanita Harvey of Waynesville; a sister, Ruth Harvey Shawhan of Otterbein in Lebanon; eight grandchildren, Mark Madison of Laguna Beach, Calif., Melissa Madison McCrea of Stanford, Conn., David Briggs of Cincinnati, Jeffrey Briggs of Cincinnati, Jennifer Harvey LaChonce of Holland, Mich., Kathryn Harvey of Grandview Heights, Sarah Harvey of Grandview Heights and Laura Harvey of Grandview Heights; two great-grandchildren, Meredith Briggs and Elias LaChonce; and a close family friend, Joyce Mussetter (Donald) Berry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Clarence Harvey, Charles Harvey, Norman Harvey, Herbert Harvey and Harold Harvey; and two sisters, Freda Harvey and Erma Shawhan.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Clarksville United Methodist Church, 68 S. First St., Clarksville, the Rev. Ann Myers officiating, with burial in Clarksville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, with Masonic services and Scottish Rite services held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarksville United Methodist Church, 68 S. Henry "Cliff" Clifford Pell

Age: 92
Henry Clifford “Cliff” Pell, 92, of Blanchester, died Thursday (Jan. 15, 2004) at Clinton Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Wandalee Pell, who died October 2002.
Mr. Pell was born April 23, 1911, in Lewis County, Ky., son of the late Charles Pell and Mary Elizabeth Bate.
He is survived by four children, Betty (Lawrence) Baker of Blanchester, Judy (John) Schaeffer of Cincinnati, Terry (Pam) Pell of Blanchester and Ron (Linda) Pell of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at TUFTS SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, Jim Krusling officiating, with burial in Plainview Cemetery, Newtonsville. Ruthanna Bond Gallagher
Died: Wednesday, January 14, 2004
Ruthanna Bond Gallagher of Jamestown died Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2004). She was preceded in death by her first husband, George E. Bond, and her second husband, William J. Gallagher. She and her second husband lived for 36 years at 3685 Corry Road, Jamestown.
Mrs. Gallagher was born Nov. 1, 1921, in Clarksville, daughter of the late Clem J. and Edith May Camp Gray. She was a member of the Biblical Christian Church of God. She had lived with her daughter, Joy Ann Bond of Xenia, for the past 16 years.
She is survived by a sister, Genevieve Shreve of Xenia, Calif., and a daughter, Joy A. Bond of Xenia.
In addition to her first and second husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, William E. Bond.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday at McCOLAUGH FUNERAL HOME INC., 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, Ance Cates officiating, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bowersville. Thelma Lucas

Thelma Lucas, 86, of Blanchester, died Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2004) at Blanchester Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Lucas, who died in 1988.
Mrs. Lucas was born May 13, 1917, in Barefoot, Ky., daughter of the late Noah Florence and Lillie Medlin. She was a member of the 20th Century Club, Wilmington Friends Meeting, Seniors Bridge Club and Blanchester Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two children, Judy Tingle of Blanchester and Robert Dean Lucas of Corpus Christi, Texas; a brother, Leroy Florence of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; a sister, Mildred Hawthorne of Blanchester; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Glen R. Lucas, who died in 1994; and two brothers, Roscoe and Arthur Dick Florence.

Dorothy L. Wilson

Age: 86
Dorothy L. Wilson, 86, of Wilmington, died 7:48 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2004) at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard J. Wilson, who died Jan. 26, 1990. they were married March 8, 1938.
Mrs. Wilson was born Dec. 8, 1917, in Port William, daughter of the late Harper J. and Gertrude Elizabeth James Ellison. She retired in 1985 after 21 years serving as a cook for Wilmington High School. She was a member of the Wilmington Church of Christ, D.A.R and the Wilmington Senior Citizens. She graduated in 1936 from Wilmington High School.
She is survived by three sons, Roger (Lou Ellen) Wilson of Xenia, Ronald (Kathy) Wilson of Naples, Fla., and Robert (Tammy) Wilson of Wilmington; two daughters, Jean (Chuck) Black of Wilmington and Janet Wilson of Blanchester; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a cousin, Jack Daughtery; and her cat and special buddy, Rascal.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Truesdell Street, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ Building Fund, 909 W. Locust St., Wilmington, 45177. Robert E. Walker

Age: 77
Robert E. Walker, 77, of Sabina, died Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2004) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Matson Walker. They were married Dec. 30, 1946.
He was born son of the late Sherman H. and Helen Aey Walker of Wilmington. He retired in 1987 from Dayton Power & Light company after 42 years of service and recently retired from VRI after 12 years of service. He operated a television and antenna repair shop for over 50 years and was associated with Littleton Funeral Home for several years. He also was a drummer in several area dance bands. He was a member and past master of Sabina Masonic Lodge 324 F&AM; member of Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati and Aladdin Temple of Shrine, past district educational officer of the Eighth District Wilmington York Rite Masons and past president of the Clinton County Shrine Club. He was a member of the Sabina Methodist Church and was instrumental in organizing and was a member of the Sabina Area Christian Men’s Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Connie (Gregory) Cady of Powell; three grandchildren, Kelly (Michael) Sowers of Powell, Bradley (Ericka) Cady of Westerville and Robert (Lisa) Cady of Dublin; four great-grandchildren, Dorian and Andra Cady and Jordan and Rachel Sowers; a brother, Frank (Mary Lou) Raymond Walker of Cincinnati; and a sister-in-law, Doris Craig Walker of Wilmington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard O. and John H. Walker, and a half sister, Virginia Thompson.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday at LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, with burial in Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and will be followed by Masonic services at 8 p.m.

Teresa L. Vinup Harrison, 37, of Port William, died Tuesday (Jan. 13, 2004) at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington.
She was the daughter of Beverly Ross Sheeley. She was a caregiver at Clinton County MR/DD. She graduated in 1985 from East Clinton High School.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Edward and Ryan Vinup of Wilmington; a daughter, Brittany Vinup of Wilmington; two sisters, Carol Knisley of Sabina and Becky Newman of Wilmington; and two brothers, Floyd Newman of New Vienna and Danny Sheeley Jr. of Wilmington.
