Elsie Carroll Baker

Elsie Carroll Baker, 85, of Xenia, formerly of Wayne Township, Clinton County, died Friday (Oct. 31, 2003) at Greenwood Manor Nursing Center, Xenia. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph E. Carroll, who died in 1950, and her second husband, Edwin Baker, who died in 1983.
Mrs. Baker was born April 2, 1918, in Clinton County, daughter of the late Jehue B. and Minnie Fay Flint Jackson. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge.
She is survived by two sons, Robert L. (Charlotte) Carroll of Wilmington, William D. Carroll of Beavercreek; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Charlie Jackson of Patriot; and four half-sisters, Mildred (Bart) Miller, Myrtie (Ellis) Thornton, Helen (Golder) Dailey, all of Patriot, and Goldie (Jack) Quimby of Gallipolis.
In addition to her first husband, second husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Mantia; two sisters, Bessie Leaverton and Hazel Williams; a brother, Louis Jackson; three half-brothers, Floyd, Bill and Johnny Jackson; and a half-sister, Mattie Ebehart.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, with burial in Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
William "Bill" Kuebler

Age: 86
William “Bill” Kuebler, 86, of Piketon, formerly of Blanchester, died Monday (July 7, 2003) at Pike Community Hospital, Waverly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor C. Walker Kuebler, who died Feb. 2, 2002. They were married for almost 65 years.
Mr. Kuebler was born May 7, 1917, in Cuba, son of the late John Kuebler and Isabella Kuntz. He was a member of the Waverly Senior Citizens. He was a member of the Catholic faith. He attended Cuba Elementary School.
He is survived by four children, Marilyn (Tom) Swift of Palmyra, Mich., Gloria (Mickey) Rannells of Midland, John (Chris) Kuebler of Tucson, Ariz., and Robert Ed Kuebler of Piketon; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Helen Kuebler and Tommy Kuebler; two brothers; three sisters; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held noon Friday at TUFTS SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, Father James Black officiating, with burial in St. Martin Cemetery, St. Martin. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home.
Susan Tolle Mongold

Age: 47
Susan Tolle Mongold, 47, of Hillsboro, died Monday (July 7, 2003) at Heartland of Hillsboro.
She was born March 20, 1956, in Wilmington, daughter of Norman Tolle of New Vienna and Dolly Collins Aldridge of Hillsboro.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a stepfather, Bobby Aldridge of Hillsboro; a stepmother, Sherry Tolle of New Vienna, two daughters, Christina (Ken) Kisling of Lynchburg and Tonya (Brian) Hall of Hillsboro; a sister, Brenda (Doug) White of Hillsboro; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church, the Rev. Keith Perkins and the Rev. Richard Burns officiating, with burial in the Sabina Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Clinton County, 61 E. Main St., Wilmington, 45177. Debra Mae Sanders
Died: Sunday, July 06, 2003
Debra Mae Sanders went home to be with her Maker on July 6, 2003.
She was born in 1951, daughter of the late Clarence and Inez Caraway Sanders. Her mother died in 1992 and her father died in 1995. She lived at the family’s home place in Port William and had attended the Port William School. She had worked in several places, and at the time of her death, she was working at Kings Island Amusement Park.
She is survived by relatives and friends.
A graveside memorial committal service will be held 6 p.m. Friday at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Port William, with her dear friend, Jim Ewing, officiating. In case of rain, services will be held at the Port William United Methodist Church, 241 Main St., Port William. This was submitted by friends and neighbors who loved her.
Lynne Marie Glaze
Died: Saturday, July 05, 2003
Lynne Marie Glaze, infant daughter of Gary and Sharon Davis Glaze of Hesperia, Calif., passed away suddenly July 5, 2003, at home.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two great-grandmothers, Blanche Davis of Wilmington and Gertrude Reitenbaugh of Adelanto, Calif.; a grandmother, Janet Davis of Adelanto, Calif.; an uncle, Tim Davis of Adelanto, Calif.; an aunt, Sandra Davis (Tom) King of Hesperia, Calif.; and a sister, Mary, at home.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Matthew and Jacob Glaze; and a grandfather, Howard Davis, who had lived in Wilmington.

Betty Jean Stevenson

Age: 65
Betty Jean Stevenson, 65, of Lynchburg, died Saturday afternoon (July 5, 2003) at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington. She is survived by her husband, George Stevenson. They were married June 20, 1959, in Morrisville.
Mrs. Stevenson was born Jan. 1, 1938, in Lancaster, daughter of Elizabeth Cupp Holmes of Martinsville and the late Paul L. Holmes. She had retired after 25 years combined service as an educator in the Franklin, Lynchburg, Martinsville and Wilmington elementary schools. She was a member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church, where she served on the Nurture Outreach Commission. She was a member of
the Wilmington Emmaus Community.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Sarah) Stevenson of Martinsville and Lt. Col. Jerry (Maj. Sioban) Stevenson, presently stationed in Iraq; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Finnuala Stevenson of Oregon; two brothers, Robert Holmes of Martinsville and Paul “David” (Joan) Holmes of Gainesville, Va.; and three sisters, Paul Holmes of Cincinnati, the Rev. Mary (Dan) Banner of Maineville and Linda (Andy) Dervan of Detroit, Mich.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Wilmington United Methodist Church, the Rev. Dean Feldmeyer officiating, with burial in the Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at the church. George Paul Channell

Age: 82
George Paul Channell, 82, of Huber Heights, formerly of Wilmington, went home to be with the Lord on Friday (July 4, 2003) at Mercy Hospital, Springfield. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eveleen, who died in 1971. He is survived by his second wife, Colleen M. Channell. They were married for 30 years.
Mr. Channell had been a fire inspector for the Huber Heights Fire Department for 18 years and worked at Dayton Power & Light for 18 years. He was an U.S. Army veteran and served during World War II. He was a member of the First Church of the Open Bible.
In addition to his second wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sheryl (Al) Rountree of North Carolina; two sons, Robert (Janet) Channell of Indiana and Duane (Dee) Channell of Missouri; a stepdaughter, Beverly (Earnie) Johnson of Nevada; a sister, Margaret Hill of Indiana; three brothers, Robert (Myrtle) Channell of Tennessee, Charles Channell of Florida and Milton (Betty) Channell of Illinois; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives and friends.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Terry, who died in 1960.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at MARKER & HELLER FUNERAL HOME, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike, Huber Heights, Pastor Gary Petersen officiating, with committal and interment at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the First Church of the Open Bible.
Cecil "Gene" E. Webb

Age: 83
Cecil E. “Gene” Webb, 83, of Ironton, died Thursday (July 3, 2003). He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Eloise Webb.
Mr. Webb was a son of the late George E. and Molly Webb. He was a U.S. Army veteran and serviced in campaigns in the European theater during World War II. He was a devoted father and caring grandfather.
He is survived by three children, Donald E. Webb, Michael W. (Diana) Webb and Teah K. Webb Randolph; five grandchildren, Tanzi, Shannon, Rachel, Bridgett and Brent; and two great-grandchildren, Tanner and Sophie.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at CRAVER-RIGGS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 529 Main St., Milford, with burial in Graceland Memorial Gardens, Milford. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Effie Jean Dunn, 75, of Martinsville, died Thursday (July 3, 2003) at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Martin Wilson, who died in 1980. She is survived by her second husband, Ford Dunn of Martinsville.
Mrs. Dunn was born March 13, 1928, in Fleming County, Ky., daughter of the late Ray Litteral and Myrtle Templin.
In addition to her second husband, she is survived by five children, Johnie Ray (Susie) Watson of Lexington, Ky., Jo Ann (Jeffery) Butts of Sandy Hook, Ky., Janet (Albert) Weaver of Sandy Hook, Ky., Jimmy (Sharma) Watson of Sandy Hook, Ky., and Joy Lynn (Homer) Wagoner of Isonville, Ky.; two stepdaughters, Brenda (Burt) Lee of Savannah, Ga., and Debra Thompson of Martinsville; a brother, George R. Litteral of Kansas; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son and a brother.
Services will be held 7 p.m. Monday at the TUFTS SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester, the Rev. Rudy Haag and the Rev. Dan Mayo officiating. Burial will be held noon Tuesday in the Elliott County Memory Garden in Sandy Hook, Ky. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
