Cameron Bryant Dillinger
Died: Monday, May 19, 2003
Age: 13

Cameron Bryant Dillinger, 13, of Xenia, died unexpectedly Monday (May 19, 2003) at Greene Memorial Hospital, Xenia.

He was actively involved in school, and greatly loved by his classmates and teachers. He was a wonderful help to the softball and volleyball teams. He was a very talented artist and writer, as well. He was loved by his family.

He is survived by his father, Troy Dillinger; his mom, Marteena Dillinger; his mother, Roberta Strutzenberg; three brothers, Tylor, Cody and J.T.; a sister, Holley; his grandparents, Dan and Becky Dillinger and Tom and Teena Smith from Wilmington; and a great many aunts, uncles, cousins and great-grandparents.

Services will be held noon Saturday at McCOLAUGH FUNERAL HOME, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, the Rev. R. James "Pete" Creamer officiating, with burial in Second Creek Cemetery in Blanchester. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to a memorial fund set by Troy's friends in the name of Mashall T. Dillinger and Cameron Bryant Dillinger at any Fifth Third Bank.

Phillip H. Partridge
Died: Monday, May 19, 2003
Age: 92

Phillip H. Partridge, 92, of Hillsboro, died Monday evening (May 19, 2003) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Gillahan Partridge.

Mr. Partridge was born March 29, 1911, in Delaware, Ohio, son of William and Pearl Hughes Partridge.

Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Hillsboro Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the TURNER & SON FUNERAL HOME, 602 N. High St., Hillsboro. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Clinton County, 61 E. Main St., Wilmington, 45177.

Jean F. Gallagher
Died: Monday, May 19, 2003
Age: 84

Jean F. Gallagher, 84, of Wilmington, died Monday (May 19, 2003) at her residence.

She was born Oct. 5, 1918, in Washington Court House, daughter of the late Charles Francis and Lois Craig Gallagher. She was the first librarian for the Sabina Library that opened in September 1937. She retired as a supervisor for the United States Trotting Association after 32 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Wilmington, Phoebe Group Christian Women Fellowship and the Sabina Historical Society. She graduated from Sabina High School in 1937 and graduated from Columbus Business School.

She is survived by a brother, Charles Ray Gallagher of Wilmington; a niece, Ann (Bill) Williams of Wilmington; three nephews, Dennis Gallagher of Mason, Brian Gallagher of Clarksville and Craig Gallagher of Florina, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Mary Gallagher of Washington Court House; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dana Gallagher.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, with burial in the New Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ruth Ann Wiederhold Wysong
Died: Sunday, May 18, 2003
Age: 62

Ruth Ann Wiederhold Wysong, 62, of Mason, formerly of Castleberry, Fla., died Sunday (May 18, 2003).

She was born Dec. 10, 1940, in Blanchester, daughter of the late Earl and Bernice Clark Spray Wiederhold. A 1958 graduate of Clarksville High School, she worked as an education administrator/president of the Career City College in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She was a member of the Morrow First Church of God.

She is survived by a son, Jeffrey L. (Faye) Wysong of Bailey, Colo.; her stepfather, Marion Spray of Morrow; a brother, Monte Wiederhold of Lebanon; a sister, Karen Trainer of Morrow; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Wiederhold of Clarksville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Morrow First Church of God, 105 Lincoln St., Morrow, with burial in Edwardsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the VALE-HOSKINS FUNERAL HOME, Morrow. Memorial contributions may be made to either the church or Hospice of Cincinnati.

Paul E. Bean
Died: Wednesday, September 03, 2003

Paul E. Bean, 71, of Grove City, died Wednesday (Sept. 3, 2003) at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bean. They were married for 45 years.

He had retired from Shaffer Services.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Pam (Rick) Anderson and Jon (Kelli) Bean; three grandchildren, Jesse, Lindsey and Alex; a brother-in-law, James Surber; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 2697 Columbus St., Grove City, Pastor Dennis George officiating, with interment in Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 16308, Columbus, 43216-6308.

Paul E. Bean

Age: 71

Age: 83

Elsie Boyd, 83, of Blanchester, formerly of Loveland, died Tuesday (Sept. 2, 2003) in Wilmington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn A. Boyd.

Mrs. Boyd was born Jan. 28, 1920, in Morehead, Ky., daughter of the late Oscar and Christine Pelfrey Johnson. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by five children, Carolyn (George) Wolbers, Janet Howard, Glenn D. Boyd, Betty (Gerald) Buerkle and Charlene (Leroy) Doctor; a brother, Alva (Dorothy) Johnson; a sister, Maxine Strickland; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Hill.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at TUFTS SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 129 N. Riverside Drive, Loveland, the Rev. Howell Hackler officiating, with burial in Graceland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, 8899 Brookside Ave., Suite 102, West Chester, 45069.

Donna C. Whittenburg
Died: Monday, September 01, 2003
Age: 75

Donna C. Whittenburg, 75, of Cincinnati, formerly of Wilmington, died 4:55 a.m. Monday (Sept. 1, 2003) at Mercy-Franciscan Hospital, Cincinnati. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Whittenburg, who died Feb. 15, 1985. They were married April 1, 1948.

Mrs. Whittenburg was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Lexington, Ky., daughter of the late William Russell and Katherine Byrnes Carmichael. After raising 14 children, she worked as a nanny for two local families. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Sodality, Right to Life and Habitat for Humanity. She was a volunteer for Hospice of Clinton County and Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. She was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church, where she served as lector, eucharistic minister and on the Parish Council. She graduated from St. Catherine’s Academy in Lexington, Ky., and attended the University of Kentucky.

She is survived by six sons, Russell (Nancy) Whittenburg of Marysville, Doug (Donna K.) Whittenburg of Cincinnati, Ken Whittenburg of Wilmington, Jim Whittenburg of Cincinnati, Carl (Elissa) Whittenburg of Whitney, Texas, and Mark (Marla) Whittenburg of Philadelphia, Pa.; seven daughters, Barbara (Rob) Srodulski of Lexington, Ky., Phyllis (Charlie) Zehnder of Lexington, Ky., Fran (David) Alvis of Dayton, Christy (Joe) Moore of Sandusky, Claudia Hopkins of Orlando, Fla., Loretta (Jorge) Nazario of Westerville and Martie (Brian) Slate of Pataskala; a sister-in-law, Marge Carmichael of Lexington, Ky.; two sisters, Lois (Harold) Barber of West Liberty, Ky., and Chris (Jim) Rexroat of Orlando, Fla.; 33 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Whittenburg; a brother, William Russell “Bill” Carmichael Jr.; and a granddaughter, Miranda Slate.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 73 N. Mulberry St., Wilmington, the Rev. James Wedig and the Rev.-Deacon Robert Baker officiating, with burial in Clinton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1580 King Ave., Columbus 43212.

Pearl "Connie" M. Shadley
Died: Saturday, August 30, 2003
Age: 81

Pearl M. “Connie” Shadley, 81, of Dayton, died Saturday (Aug. 30, 2003) at the home of her brother in Lynchburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earpley T. Shadley, who died July 8, 1998. They were married Oct. 28, 1939.

Mrs. Shadley was born May 2, 1922, in Corwin, daughter of the late Ralph and Audrey Jane Collins Biggs. She was a member of the Evangel Church of God in Dayton and had been very active in the Odd Fellow Lodge and Rebekah Lodge. She and her husband lived in Sabina until 1947, then moved to Dayton.

She is survived by a sister, Bonnie Lee (Jay) Collins of Lebanon; two brothers, Howard W. Biggs of Lynchburg and James Walter Biggs of Waynesville; a host of nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, Donald Shadley of Sabina; and two sisters-in-law, Grace Shadley and Dorothy House, both of Sabina.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles E. Biggs, John Donald Biggs and Ralph Biggs Jr.; and a sister, Pauline.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, with burial in the Sabina Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
