Thomas Edward Roth, 56, of Blanchester, died Sunday (March 16, 2003) at his home. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Regan Roth of Blanchester.
Mr. Roth was born Jan. 6, 1947, in Cincinnati, son of the late Edward Roth and Virginia Hartlaub. He was a member of the Cincinnati Lodge Fraternal Order of Police 69 and the Holy Name Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Michael (Jeannine) Roth of Cincinnati, Jenni (William) Trabel Jr. of Cincinnati, Reid Radcliffe of Blanchester and Megan Radcliffe of Blanchester; a brother, John "Jack" Roth of Cincinnati; two sisters, Mary Kay (Jeff) Speckert of Cincinnati and Kimberly (Paul) Quarry of Cincinnati; and two grandchildren, Joshua Trabel and Mia Roth.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the Holy Name Catholic Church, 746 SR 133 South, Blanchester, Fr. Mike Savino officiating, with burial in the Blanchester I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Blanchester. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the TUFTS SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Main St., Blanchester. Betty Joyce Smith
Died: Sunday, March 16, 2003
Age: 74
Betty Joyce Smith, 74, of Hillsboro, died Sunday (March 16, 2003) at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro. Her first husband, Ralph E. Henderson, preceded her in death in 1965. Her second husband, Henry O'Dell Smith, preceded her in death in 1998.
Mrs. Smith was born Dec. 23, 1928, in Lesage, W.Va., daughter of the late Sidney and Urna Clary Blake. She attended the Rainsboro Church of Christ. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Highland County Senior Citizens, and was a caregiver for Skilled Nursing II.
Mrs. Smith is survived by four daughters, Hattie (Doug) Lovedahl of Hillsboro, Brenda Waugh of Scottsdale, Ariz., Marsha (Gary) Sharp of Chesapeake, and Kelly Henderson of College Station, Texas; two brothers, Eustace Blake of Ona, W.Va., and Robert H. Blake of Lesage, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands and parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by three brothers and seven sisters.
The funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at the HOPE MILLER-THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME, 241 E. Main St., Hillsboro, Mike Free officiating, with interment in the Resthaven Memory Gardens. Robert Lee Huff, 56, of Greenfield, died Saturday (March 15, 2003) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Marilou Barrett Huff.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Patrick (Roxanne) Huff of Kingston.
In accordance with Mr. Huff's wishes, he will be cremated, with burial at the convenience of the family in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Leesburg. Visitation will not be observed. Georgiana Hook Peterson

Age: 77
Georgiana Hook Peterson, 77, of Wilmington, died Saturday (March 15, 2003) at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Maynard Peterson.
Mrs. Peterson was born Aug. 5, 1925 in Jamestown, daughter of the late George Hook and Marie Brackney Hook. She was a member of the Port William United Methodist Church.
Ê She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Peterson of Atlanta, Ga; a son, Neil (Sarah) Peterson of Wilmington; a sister, Ruth Ellen Creager of Mt. Orab; two grandchildren, Kathy (Bryan) Fisher of Clarksville and Jennifer (Rob) Cleaver of Greenwood, Ind.; and five great-grandchildren, Megan Branham, Morgan Fisher, Briann Fisher, Zachary Cleaver and Anna Cleaver.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Hook; and a sister, Francis Woods.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the FISHER-EDGINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 97 W. Locust St., Wilmington, Jim Ellis officiating, with burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until tie of the services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Floyd Renner

Age: 81
Floyd Renner, 81, of Pleasant Plain, died Friday (March 14, 2003) at Bethesda Hospital in Montgomery. His wife, Corma Kirby Renner, died Dec. 1, 1992.
Mr. Renner was born Aug. 5, 1921, son of the late Joseph and Dealia Bustell Renner. He was retired from Sterns and Foster.
He is survived by two sons, Charles (Judy) Renner and Richard (Shelia) Renner; two sisters, Ressela Anderson and Ruby Renner; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at TUFTS SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 129 N. Riverside Drive, Loveland, with interment in Myers Cemetery, Goshen. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Alma Ethel Elam

Age: 87
Alma Ethel Elam, 87, of Wilmington, died March 13, 2003, at Laurels of Hillsboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley K. Elam.
Mrs. Elam was born Aug. 19, 1915, in Frenchburg, Ky., daughter of the late Cordis and Mary Evelyn Lawson. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Mike (Judy) Elam of Wilmington; a daughter, Romayne Hays of Lynchburg; a brother, David Lawson of California; a sister, Eleanor Webb of Dayton; five grandchildren, Doug (Connie) McPherson of Wilmington, Mark (Cheri) McPherson of Buford, Clay (Bev) McPherson of Greenfield, Brian (Marsha) McPherson of Sabina and Stephanie Elam of Wilmington; seven great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ida (Lawrence) Davis and Alpha (Frances M.) Eaton.
Burial was March 19 in Clinton County Memory Gardens under the direction of REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington.
William "Bill" H. Turner
Died: Thursday, March 13, 2003
Age: 67
William H. "Bill" Turner, 67, of 508 Grove St., Wilmington, died 1 p.m. Thursday (March 13, 2003) at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington. He is survived by his former wife, Zella Turner.
Mr. Turner was born Sept. 5, 1935, in New Vienna, son of the late Leroy and Susie Lee Turner. He had retired as a lieutenant from the Clinton County Sheriff's Department on July 1, 2001, after 30 years in law enforcement. He formerly had worked for the Sabina Police Department, the Wilmington Junior High School and as a veterinarian's assistant for Dr. Thomas South in Sabina. He was a member of the Buckeye State Sheriff's Association and Fraternal Order of Police. He graduated from New Vienna High School, where he was a former basketball player. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed gardening and all outdoor activities.
In addition to his former wife, he is survived by two sons, Stewart Garrette of Chillicothe and William F. (Cheryl) Turner of Aurora, Colo.; three daughters, Sherry (Robert) Pritchet of Las Cruces, N.M., Sharon Davis of Xenia and Kim (Rodney) Sanford of Xenia; a brother, Robert Turner of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Della T. Hill of Dayton; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Jackson, Edna Jackson and Belva Bealer.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, Pastor Kelly D. McInerney officiating, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 49 memorial squad. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Jane Marie Seaman

Age: 88
Jane Marie Seaman, 88, of Cynthiana, Ky., formerly of Lexington, died Wednesday (March 12, 2003) at Trilogy Health Center.
She was born Nov. 29, 1914, in Cincinnati, daughter of the late Charles Albert and Mildred Marie Hodson Dickman. She was a retired licensed practical nurse and a member of the Connersville Christian Church.
She is survived by a son, James Bruce (Mary Lou) Seaman of Loveland; two daughters, Mary Frances (Clifford) Neat of Cynthiana, Ky., and Ann Marie (Robert) Norman of New Vienna; nine grandchildren, Cindy Hill, Debbie Pulliam, Michael Neat, Jennifer McIlvain, Robert Eugene Norman Jr., Ben Emery Norman, Christine Marie Dearth, James Anthony Seaman and Timothy Scott Seaman; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at WARE FUNERAL HOME, 846 US 27 North, Cynthiana, Ky., Brother Ronnie Hupp officiating, with burial in Kentontown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Connersville Christian Church.
