Charles Tony McKee

Age: 48
Charles Tony McKee Sr., 48, of Grove City, formerly of Wilmington, died 9:10 p.m. Monday (March 24, 2003) at his residence. He is survived by his former wife, Tressa McKee of Columbus.
Mr. McKee was born July 14, 1954, in Wilmington, son of Charles Richard McKee of Wilmington and Lola Lucille Spradley of Wilmington. He was employed as a clerk by the U.S. Postal Service in Columbus. He was a member of the Bible Missionary Baptist Church in Wilmington and the America Legion Post 532. He graduated in 1972 from Wilmington High School. He obtained an associate's degree in business management from Columbus State. He served in the U.S. Air Force after graduation and then served in the U.S. Army Reserve until his retirement in 1996.
In addition to his former wife and parents, he is survived by three sons, Charles Tony McKee Jr., Chadwick Lamont McKee and Brandon Scott McKee, all of Columbus; four sisters, Donna Sue (Daniel) Davis of Wilmington, Lois Jean Williams of Wilmington, Hazel Mae Washington of Wilmington and Gwendolyn Joyce (Robert) Durham of Fairborn; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jo McKee and Charlotte Ann McKee.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Bible Missionary Baptist Church, 243 Grant St., Wilmington, the Rev. Kurtis Summerville officiating, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 49 memorial squad. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington.
Ardis King Gaddis
Died: Monday, March 24, 2003
Age: 97
Ardis King Gaddis, 97, formerly of Beavercreek, died Monday (March 24, 2003) at Lincoln Park Manor in Kettering. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Gaddis, who died Oct. 7, 1974. They were married on Sweetest Day, Oct. 21, 1939.
Mrs. Gaddis was born May 20, 1905, in Martinsville, daughter of the late Clete and Pearl Simonton King. She had been employed at N.C.R. and Frigidaire and retired in 1965 from the Beavercreek School cafeterias. She was a charter member of the Green Valley Garden Club, Beaver Valley Chapter 570, O.E.S., and the Beavercreek Republican Women's Club. She also was a member of the Community United Methodist Church, the Rebecca Circle and the Beavercreek Senior Citizens Club. She graduated in 1923 from Martinsville High School. She never met a stranger and was a wonderful friend to all. She truly loved gardening, sewing, knitting, crafts, camping and traveling.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol (Larry) Oldham; and a brother, Carl D. King.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Walter S. King, and a sister, Clella K. Holt.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME, Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road, Beavercreek, Pastor Marian Adell officiating, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community United Methodist Church, 339 Meyer Ave., Riverside, 45431.
Eldred "Tiet" E Tietmeyer
Died: Monday, March 24, 2003
Age: 83
Eldred E. "Tiet" Tietmeyer, 83, of Waynesville, died Monday (March 24, 2003) due to a heart attack at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Joan Boeck Tietmeyer. They were married for 36 years.
Mr. Tietmeyer was born Dec. 7, 1919, son of Frank and Emma Tietmeyer. He retired in 1981 from Centerville Builders Supply after many years of service. Later he worked as the Waynesville building inspector. He was a member of the Waynesville Park Board and the Waynesville Tree Board. He graduated from Harveysburg High School.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Keith (Nancy) Tietmeyer of Florida and Mark (Brenda) Boeck of West Virginia; four daughters, Miriam George of Waynesville, Debbie (Mick) Creamer of Waynesville, Beverly (Tony) Moon of Waynesville and Ann Boeck of Dayton; 14 grandchildren, Kevin and Kent George, Karla George Lamb, Kyle George, Kara George Warren, Michelle Tietmeyer Giannone, Cameron, Jared and Megan Moon, Sherry and Ray Wright, Helen Boeck and Jackson and Travis Creamer; 18 great-grandmother; a brother, Charles Elmer Tietmeyer of Lebanon; and a sister, Irma Helen Peters of Blanchester.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Tietmeyer; a grandson, Jeff George; a brother, Francis Eugene Tietmeyer; and a son-in-law, Ronnie George.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at STUBBS-CONNER FUNERAL HOME, 185 N. Main St., Waynesville, the Rev. Hugh Hurley officiating, with burial in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Waynesville Friends of the Park.
Ruth Jean Humphreys
Died: Saturday, March 22, 2003
Age: 67
Ruth Jean Humphreys, 67, of Washington Court House, died Saturday (March 22, 2003) at her residence.
She was born Oct. 16, 1935, in Clinton County, daughter of the late Clair and Esther L. Hunt Ames. She was been a resident of Washington Court House since 1974, attended Grace United Methodist Church, held an associate's degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Southern State Community College, was a former member of the farm bureau and had been a 4-H leader with the Buzzin Dozen. She loved to cook, play piano, go to the beach, playing bridge and was a loving mother. She enjoyed her work as a seamstress, and formerly had worked as an LPN with the Orient State Correctional Facility.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan (Steven) Craig of North Canton; four sons, Chris (Deborah) Humphreys of Jeffersonville, Matthew Humphreys of Washington Court House, Daniel Humphreys of Columbus and Jon Humphries (companion Susan Corona) of Avondale, Ariz.; a brother, Roger Ames of Beaver; a brother-in-law, the Rev. Gary Arnold of Greenville, N.C.; a sister, Martha Gillespie of New Vienna; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a former husband, Neil Wendell Humphreys of Jacksonville, Fla.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Norman Ames; and a sister, Mary Arnold.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at MORROW FUNERAL HOME, Washington Court House, the Rev. Gary Arnold, chaplain of the Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, N.C., officiating, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rhonda Lee Farmer

Rhonda Lee Farmer, 52, of Wilmington, died Friday (March 21, 2003) at Clinton Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 18, 1950, in Cincinnati, daughter of Peggy Black of Sabina and the late Robert Black.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen Farmer of Van Wert; three sisters, Donna (Darrell) Nolley, JoAnn Dye and Regina (Randy) Gerber of Sabina; and a brother, Gary (Gerry) Spears of Cincinnati.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Patrick Spears.
A private graveside service will be held, with burial beside her father at Arlington Memorial Gardens, Cincinnati.
Ashley Marie Colthar
Died: Thursday, March 20, 2003
Age: 14
Ashley Marie Colthar, 14, of Hillsboro, died Thursday (March 20, 2003) at Miami Valley Hospital.
She was born July 27, 1988, in Wilmington, daughter of James R. and Barbara (Shafer) Colthar of Hillsboro. She was a member of the freshman class at Hillsboro High School, where she had been a freshman basketball cheerleader, played varsity and reserve soccer, currently was training for the track team and had played summer softball. She was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, was a volunteer at Camp Dovetail and had worked at Shaffer Park during the summer.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Christy Colthar and Heather Colthar of Hillsboro; maternal grandmother, Myrtle Shafer of Hillsboro; an aunt, Caroline Irion of Hillsboro; three uncles, Robert (Jo) Colthar of Lynchburg, Maynard Shafer of Columbus, and David (Donna) Shafer of Leesburg; and a host of cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Clement Shafer; and paternal grandparents, Reed J. and Jean Colthar.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Richards Memorial Field at Hillsboro High School. In case of inclement weather, the service will be moved to the high school gymnasium. The Rev. James Caldwell of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church and Pastor Jon Morgan of the Chillicothe Walnut Street United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in New Market Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Robinson Hall of the First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro.

Nancy Lou Plummer, 75, of Wilmington, died Wednesday (March 19, 2003) at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington.
She was born April 22, 1927, in Mowrystown, daughter of the late Homer T. and Elsie May Stevens Plummer. She was a member of the Mowrystown Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Barbara Plummer of Wilmington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Plummer.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mowrystown Cemetery, the Rev. Robert League officiating. No visitation is scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of FISHER-EDGINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 97 W. Locust St., Wilmington.
