William C. Clemens

Age: 87
William C. Clemens, 87, of Columbus, died Friday (Feb. 28, 2003) at the Laurels of Norworth in Worthington, after an extended illness. His wife, Frances Haines Clemens, survives. They were married Jan. 16, 1943.
Mr. Clemens was born July 12, 1915, in Redfield, N.Y., son of the late Clarence A. and Jennie Cochrane Clemens. He was a former employee of Curtis Wright, North American Aviation and Rockwell Aviation. He was also a retired teacher with the Columbus Public Schools. He was a graduate of the Oswego State Teachers College and the Ohio State University. He served as an usher and portal chief at OSU for over 40 years. A 50-year Mason at the Westgate Lodge, he was a member of the Overbrook Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sandra Johnson of Columbus; two sons, William Jr. (Brenda) Clemens of Lancaster and James (Jeanie) Clemens of Dublin; a granddaughter, Misty (Tony) Clucus; stepgrandchildren, Judee and Gina Masoni, Jimmie Green and Shawn Hillman; a great-granddaughter, Serena Clucus; several nieces and nephews; and a special canine companion, Ginger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, with burial in White Oak Grove Cemetery, Fayette County. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Donald Lee Goosey

Age: 45
Donald Lee Goosey, 45, of Hillsboro passed away Friday (Feb. 28, 2003) at the Mercy Hospital Clermont. He is survived by his wife Sue Goosey of Hillsboro.
He was born July 15, 1957 in Dayton, the son of Don
and Mary Locke of Burnside, Ky.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two sons, Jeremy Goosey and John Goosey, both of Xenia; a stepdaughter, Michelle Powers of Hillsboro; a brother, George (Vickie) Fugate of Sabina; three sisters, Pauline (Richard) Morris of Leesburg, Cynthia (Bill) Haines of Washington Court House, and Teresa (Jeff) Temple of Floyd Knobs, Ind.; two stepgrandsons, Hayden and Parker; and several nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes, Mr. Goosey was cremated. Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the RHODES-EDGINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 138 E. Main St., Hillsboro, with memorial services at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home, John Gillum officiating. Paul D. Zurface
Died: Friday, February 28, 2003
Age: 71
Paul D. Zurface, 71, of Bloomington, died Friday (Feb. 28, 2003) at the Cincinnati Veterans Medical Center. He is survived by his faithful and loyal wife, Dorothy Arrasmith Zurface.
Mr. Zurface was born Feb. 5, 1932, in Wilmington, son of Cora Douglas Zurface of Bloomington and the late Harry O. Zurface. He was a retired plasterer and drywaller throughout the area. He attended the Sabina schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three children, Sue Smith of Dayton, Barbara (Ron) Kell of Jamestown and Jim (Tina George) Zurface of Jamestown; several stepchildren; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Zurface of Bloomington and Helen (Zane) Bailey of Xenia; and a brother, Bob (Dorie) Zurface of Sabina.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, June York, and two brothers, Gene and Donald Zurface.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family Monday in the New Maple Grove Cemetery, Port William. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clinton County Community Action. Arrangements are under the direction of LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina.
Ruth Ann Cooper
Died: Thursday, February 27, 2003
Age: 59
Ruth Ann Cooper, 59, of Wilmington, died Thursday (Feb. 27, 2003) at her residence. She is survived by her husband, John W. Cooper Sr. of Wilmington.
Mrs. Cooper was born Dec. 20, 1943, in Fayette County, daughter of the late Walter and Louella Davis. She attended church at Villars Chapel.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, John W. (Linda) Cooper Jr. of Hillsboro, Charles (Dee) Cooper of Wilmington, Tracy (Kelli) Cooper of Clarksville, Lisa (Mike) Kratzer of Midland and Steve (Tracy) Cooper of Middletown; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the FISHER-EDGINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 97 W. Locust St., Wilmington, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Audrey M. Lambert
Died: Thursday, February 27, 2003
Age: 83
Audrey M. Lambert, 83, of Reesville, died Thursday (Feb. 27, 2003) at Autumn Years Nursing Center. She is survived by her husband, Warren M. Lambert. They were married Aug. 1, 1949.
Mrs. Lambert was born Nov. 9, 1919, in Morgan County, Ky., daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Adkins Cundiff. She retired as a nurse's aid.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Donna Sue (Emmett) Ferguson of Wilmington; two sons, Jimmy Warren (Marsha) Lambert of Jeannette, Pa., and Timothy Dwayne Lambert of Sabina; two grandchildren, Katherine Lambert of Jeannette, Pa., and Emmett Michael Ferguson of Circleville; two great-grandchildren, Caleb Michael and Savannah Lynn Ferguson; a brother, Charles Roscoe (Kathleen) Cundiff of Hillsboro; six special nieces, Carla Jane, Janice Lynn, Gail Rose, Linda Eve, Audrey Gwinn and Juanita Fae Cundiff; and numerous other nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Cundiff; two infant brothers, Sherman and Earl Cundiff; three sisters, Elizabeth Fultz, Myrtle Conley and Elsie Gardner.
Mrs. Lambert requested a graveside service, which will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek, no visitation and that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to her husband. Arrangements are under the direction of LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina.
Mary Jo Kelly
Died: Monday, February 24, 2003
Age: 79
Mary Jo Kelly, 79, of 7 Willis Court, Washington Court House, died 12:29 a.m. Monday (Feb. 24, 2003) at The Ohio State University Medical Center, where she had been ill and a patient since Feb. 18. She is survived by her husband, Foster Kelly. They were married March 7, 1943.
Mrs. Kelly was born Feb. 5, 1924, in Fayette County, daughter of Frank C. and Ersie Marie Maynard Sanders. She lived most of her life in this community. She was a member of Jefferson Chapter 300 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Jeffersonville.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Rita (Robert) Lanman of Sabina; a son, Larry (Maria) Kelly of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren, Jenny (Billy) Stewart of Sabina, Joey (John) Dame of Parker, Colo., and Jamie (Sean) Kneiper of Aurora, Colo.; a great-grandson, Anduin Kelly; and a sister, Betty (Joe) Wildermuth of Akron, Ind.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Laura Arnold and her twin sister, Emma Jo Kelly.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the KIRKPATRICK FUNERAL HOME, 554 Washington Ave., Washington Court House, with burial in the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Historical society, 517 Columbus Ave., Washington Court House, 43160.
