James T. Lawrence, 52, Westboro, died Thursday (Jan. 9, 2003) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Ellamae Jones Lawrence. They were married Sept. 20, 1970.
Mr. Lawrence was born June 5, 1949, in Tiptonville, Tenn., son of John Thomas and Mary Settles Lawrence of Wingo, Ky.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by three children, James Thomas Lawrence Jr. of Westboro, Shawn Clifton (Karla) Lawrence of Westboro and Elissa Lawrence of Blanchester; three grandchildren, Shawn, Samantha and Kayla; and two brothers, Carl and Larry Lawrence, both of Wingo, Ky.
A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, with burial in Sabina Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Dorothy M. Lamb
Died: Wednesday, January 08, 2003
Age: 72
Dorothy M. Lamb, 72, of Hamilton, died Wednesday (Jan. 8, 2003) at Hospice of Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Lamb, who died June 20, 1972. They were married Feb. 2, 1952.
Mrs. Lamb was born Oct. 11, 1930, in Niles, daughter of the late Gomer and Irene Pugh Miles. She graduated in 1952 from Ohio University. She had worked for Pease Industries, Mary Louise Schum's Interior Decorating, the Phi Kappa Tau National Fraternity headquarters in Oxford and the Butler County Mental Health. She was vice president of Lamb Farms Inc. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a board member of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Butler County and of the Hamilton Fairfield Arts Council.
She is survived by two daughters, Sallie (Dean) Minnich of Burlington, N.C., and Barbara (Michael) Hynak of Arlington, Va.; a son, Peter R. Lamb of Hamilton; and two grandchildren, Lindsey Minnich of Burlington, N.C. and Christopher Hynak of Arlington, Va.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Miles, and a son, David Lamb.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. today at WEBB NOONAN FUNERAL HOME, Ross Avenue at South D Street, Hamilton. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Millidgeville Cemetery in Millidgeville. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 225 Ludlow St., Hamilton, 45011, or to a charity of the donor's choice. Marvin W. McCollum

Marvin W. McCollum, 80, of 8 Willow Ridge, Wilmington, died 3:55 p.m. Monday (Jan. 6, 2003) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Doris M. McCollum. They were married June 8, 1948.
Mr. McCollum was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Clermont County, son of the late Samuel Edward and Julia May Shumaker McCollum. He was a retired farmer and salesman. He attended the First Baptist Church of Wilmington. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Clinton County.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Wayne E. (Janet) McCollum of Muskegon, Mich., and Myron D. (Sharon) McCollum of West Liberty; two daughters, Julia Ann (Dennis) Watkins of West Liberty and Jacque Lynne Gundolf of Urbana; eight grandchildren, Christina Ulmer, Chad Ulmer, Duane (Nicole) McCollum, Jason McCollum, Kyle Gundolf, Ashley Gundolf, Brian McCollum and Nathan McCollum; a stepgranddaughter, Tara (Josh) McGill; six great-grandchildren, Tyler Ulmer, Peighton Ulmer, John Ulmer, Matthew Ulmer, Julie Ulmer and Shelby Ulmer; and a stepgreat-grandson, Tristen Miknist.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Glendon Edward McCollum and Howard E. McCollum.
Services will be held noon Friday at REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, Pastor Kelly D. McInerney officiating, with burial in Jefferson Township Cemetery, Westboro. Raymond W. Danes

Age: 80
Raymond W. Danes, 80, of Wilmington, formerly of the Lees Creek area, died Monday (Jan. 6, 2003) at Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Residence. She was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret E. Hagler Danes, who died Sept. 22, 2000. They were married Dec. 27, 1941.
Mr. Danes was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Dayton, son of the late Ernest E. and Jenny O. Grady Danes. He was a livestock hauler and a machinist.
He is survived by a son, Kenneth R. (Peggy) Danes of Wilmington; a granddaughter, Lisa Rene (Brian) Sweetman; a grandson, John M. (Loretta) Danes; two stepgrandchildren, Thomas (April) Drake and Dustin Drake; two great-grandchildren, Noah Sweetman and Madison Drake; and a brother, Ernest Danes of Memphis, Tenn.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald L. Danes; a daughter-in-law, Karen Danes; a grandson, Rodney Danes; three brothers, West, Pearl and Harold Danes; two infant sisters; and two infant brothers.

Richard "Meece" A. Jordan

Age: 43
Richard A. "Meece" Jordan, 43, of St. Paris, died Sunday evening (Jan. 5, 2003) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Carmen (Stewart) Jordan of St. Paris.
Mr. Jordan was born March 11, 1959, in Xenia, son of Richard K. and Marilee Bogan Jordan of Xenia. He served in the U.S. Army from 1977 to 1979. He attended the Xenia Grace Chapel.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a son, Joshua Jordan of Riverside; a granddaughter, Skylar Purk; a stepson, Daniel (Rachel) Shelpman of Xenia; a stepdaughter, Jessica Shelpman of St. Paris; two brothers, Douglas C. (Becky) Jordan of Wilmington and Brian K. (Ann) Jordan of Leesburg; a sister, Jennifer L. (Scott) Pennington of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Roxanne Jordan.

Danziel "Dan" N. Hockett

Age: 75
Danziel N. "Dan" Hockett, 75, of Oak Harbor, died Thursday (Jan. 3, 2003) at his residence. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Joan M. Novak.
He was born Dec. 18, 1927, in Miami County, son of Danzel and Geneva Harmon Hockett. He was a journeyman carpenter and locksmith, retiring in 1979 from General Motors. He was a home builder and enjoyed woodworking. He was an avid
fisherman and was known to other fisherman as "Daniel Boone." He loved Lake
Erie and was a first-class skipper of his own boat. He was well known for his great sense of humor and was termed a "gentle soul" by his mother-in-law. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor; I.U.E. 801, Dayton; charter member of the Alliance for Retired Americans; Moose Lodge 1610, Port Clinton; and Boat USA.

Mildred Margaret Crone

Age: 88
Mildred Margaret Crone, 88, of Wilmington, died 10:20 a.m. Friday (Jan. 3, 2003) in Dayton Heart Hospital.
She was born Sept. 20, 1914, in Fayetteville, daughter of the late Arthur and Mary McConn Crone. She was a loyal employee for 36 years to the Cecil and Louise Gamble family of Cincinnati and Pasadena, Calif. She returned to Ohio after her retirement in 1980 and became active in the St. Columbkille Catholic Church and several organizations in Wilmington. She belonged to the English Club, the Kensington Club and the Wilmington Republican Women's Club. She was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church. She played bridge and canasta with several groups. She loved to entertain and always had nice luncheons for her friends and family. She will always be remembered by her family as a wonderful aunt and by her many friends as a gracious lady and hostess.
She is survived by five nieces, JoAnn (Marvin) Chamberlin of Blanchester, Jeanette (Michael) Wientjes of Wilmington, Mary Ann Berger of Hamilton, Marlene Rhodes of Batavia and Celeste (James) Phares of Trenton; two nephews, the Rev. Patrick Crone of Cincinnati and Felix (Jane) Rude of Whitehouse; three great-nieces and six great-nephews, Ron Wientjes of Wilmington, Don (Heidi) Wientjes of Wilmington, Laura Curliss (Dr. Patrick Gentile) of Blanchester, Dr. David (Erin) Curliss of Urbana, Deron (Colleen) Curliss of Madison, Wis., Rebecca Rhude of Whitehouse, Felica (Tim) Huntington of Washington, D.C., Brent Phares of Hamilton and David Phares of Alabama; two great-great-nieces and six great-great-nephews, Meaghan Curliss, Matthew Curliss, Michael Curliss, Maeve Curliss, Kevin Curliss, Connor Curliss, James Curliss and Michael Gentile; and two sisters-in-law, Marie Crone and Viola Crone.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Crone and Edward Crone; and two sisters, Gertrude M. Rude and Hilda Berger.
