Wilson Fisher
Died: Wednesday, January 01, 2003
Age: 88

Wilson Fisher, 88, of Winter Springs, Fla., formerly of Wilmington, died Wednesday (Jan. 1, 2003) in Winter Springs, Fla. He was preceded by his wife, Pauline Burton Fisher, who died in 2000. They were married Nov. 25, 1939.

Mr. Fisher was born June 20, 1914, in Thurmont, Md., son of the late Joseph and Laura Wilson Fisher. He founded the Melvin Liquid Fertilizer Co. in 1957, served on the Simon Kenton School Board, was active in community affairs, Scouting and the Antique Farm Machinery Club. He was a member of the Church of God in Wilmington.

He is survived by three sons, Larry (Carole) Fisher of Atlanta, Roger (Ginny) Fisher of Winter Springs, Fla., and Randy Fisher of Orlando; four granddaughters; four grandsons; three great-granddaughters; a great-grandson; three brothers, Charles A. Fisher of Reesville, Jack Fisher of Clarksville and Levi Fisher of Ellenton, Fla.; and four sisters, Mary Burton of Lebanon, Violet Saunders of West Carrollton, Rose Wilkinson of Georgetown and Virginia Horn of Michigan.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, with burial in the Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

N. Bruce Camp
Died: Tuesday, December 31, 2002
Age: 55

N. Bruce Camp, 55, of Hillsboro, formerly of Wilmington, died 4:45 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 31, 2002) at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington. He is survived by his wife, Debra Adams Camp. They were married June 18, 1967, and were married for 35 years.

Mr. Camp was born Dec. 18, 1947, in Wilmington, son of the late Alfred Frank and Norma Jane Dawson Camp. He was a self-employed contractor for 35 years. He built many homes and businesses in Clinton County with his brother, including Pizza Hut in Wilmington. He attended the Tower of Strength Church in New Vienna. He was an avid horse lover and owned many horses during his lifetime. He was a hunter and an outdoorsman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Pete Camp of Hillsboro and Luke Camp of Wilmington; a daughter, Heather Ann Camp of Wilmington; two brothers, Kenneth Leo (Pat) Camp of Wilmington and Roger (Judy) Camp of Hillsboro; a sister, Jeanie (Chris) Cluxton of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Jacob Osborne, Justyn Osborne and Jessup Ferguson; his mother-in-law, Mary Jane Adams of Wilmington; a cousin, David Cole of Hillsboro; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, with burial in Prospect Cemetery, Highland County. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Martha A. Bartruff
Died: Tuesday, December 16, 2003
Age: 86

Martha A. Bartruff, 86, of Xenia, died Tuesday (Dec. 16, 2003) at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Bartruff, who died Nov. 8, 1988. They were married in 1935.

Mrs. Bartruff was born Feb. 4, 1917, in Fayette County, daughter of the late Joseph and Cleva Bruce Kingery.

She is survived by four daughters, Doris Zurface of Jamestown, JoAnn (LeRoy) Spence of North Lewisburg, Sandy Bartruff of Xenia and Pamela Bartruff of Minneapolis, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Kingery of Springvalley; a sister, Betty Bartruff of Washington Court House; and a daughter-in-law, Connie Bartruff of Washington Court House.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis; a son, John R. Bartruff; a granddaughter, Kathy; two sisters, Dorothy Pursley and Mary Matson; four brothers, Elmer, Joseph, John and Roy; and an infant sister, Nanetta.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, with burial in Milledgeville Plymouth Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Robert Edward Lewber
Died: Saturday, December 13, 2003
Age: 19

Robert Edward “Robie” Lewber, 19, of Hillsboro, died early Saturday morning (Dec. 13, 2003) at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hillsboro, with burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at TURNER & SON FUNERAL HOME, 602 N. High St., Hillsboro.

Miles L. Peelle
Died: Friday, December 12, 2003
Age: 97

Miles L. Peelle, 97, of Brevard, N.C., formerly of Sabina, died Friday (Dec. 12, 2003) in Brevard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor, who died in 1992.

Mr. Peelle was a son of the late Irving and Edna Custis Peelle. He was employed as a professor of biology at Adrian College from 1937 to 1971. He graduated in 1928 with a bachelor of science degree from Wilmington College and received a master of arts degree in 1929 from Haverford College.

He is survived by a son, David Peelle of Ann Arbor, Mich.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Barrett.

Memorial services in Wilmington will be announced at a later time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nature Conservancy or the National Audubon Society. Arrangements are under the direction of MOORE FUNERAL HOME in Brevard, N.C.

Miles L. Peelle

Age: 97

Dale Earl Adams
Died: Wednesday, December 10, 2003
Age: 63

Dale Earl Adams, 63, of 250 S. Nelson Ave., Lot 20, Wilmington, died 11:50 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 10, 2003) at Hospice of Dayton. His wife, Pamela Ann Clark Adams, survives. They were married July 2, 2001.

Mr. Adams was born April 8, 1940, in Clinton County, son of Mabel Marie Barr Adams of Martinsville and the late Earl Elijah Adams. He worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two stepsons, Donald (Trina) Burkett of Mississippi and Michael (Kim) Cook of Wilmington; two stepdaughters, Melinda Cook of Wilmington and Bobbie Burkett of Texas; three brothers, Robert (Wanda) Adams of Williamsburg, Joe (Karen) Adams of Lynchburg and Chris (Dora) Adams of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Linda (Art) Whitaker of Martinsville and Kay (James) Hofer of Clarksville; five stepgrandchildren; his mother-in-law, Laura Cox of Blanchester; a brother-in-law, Richard Caplinger of Wilmington; a sister-in-law, Mary Peckolt of Celina; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Kip Adams.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, with burial in Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of the services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, 45420.

Winston Florence
Died: Wednesday, December 10, 2003
Age: 61

Winston Florence, 61, of Hillsboro, died unexpectedly Wednesday (Dec. 10, 2003) at his residence. His wife, Janet Freeman Florence, survives. They were married June 21, 1963, in Lansing, Mich.

Mr. Florence was born Jan. 15, 1942, in Cynthiana, Ky., son of the late Robert Newton and Ethel Mae Navarre Florence. He was a retired employee of Executive Cellular. He was a 1961 graduate of Harrison County High School in Cynthiana, Ky., and a 1965 graduate of Cincinnati Bible Seminary. He was a member and past president of the Lynchburg Lions Club and a J-13 District youth chairman representative to the Ohio Lions Club. He also was a member of the Pricetown Church of Christ and had served for 10 years as pastor of the Mt. Victory Church near Kenton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, Winston David (Gloria) Florence of Hamilton, James (Shara Cox) Florence of Hillsboro, Steve (Amy) Florence of Lebanon, Dan (Rhonda) Florence of Hillsboro and John (Wendy Krzys) Florence of Maineville; 13 grandchildren, Jenny Kennel, Brian Adkins, Christina Angel, Jackie Willis, Michael Willis, Savannah Florence, Cheyenne Florence, Shana Florence, Erin Florence, Syndi Cox, Sam Florence, Anna Florence and Shalaina Hauke; four great-grandchildren; five sisters, Nana Humphrey of Cnythiana, Ky., Inez Webb of Chicago, Ill., Susan Jennings of Oxford, Ga., Lois Moore of Cynthiana, Ky. and Mary Ann May of Sadieville, Ky.; and a brother, Cecil Florence of Greencastle, Ind.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pricetown Church of Christ, Leo Kuhn officiating, with burial in the Barker Cemetery, Pricetown. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the TURNER AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 602 N. High St., Hillsboro, and from 10 a.m. until time of the services Saturday at the church. Lions club memorial services will be 7:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Lions Eye Research Foundation, c/o Phil McElwee, 134 E. Dorothy R. Koch
Died: Tuesday, December 09, 2003
Age: 87

Dorothy R. Koch, 87, of Wilmington, died Tuesday (Dec. 9, 2003) at Cape May Retirement Village, Wilmington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. Koch.

Mrs. Koch was born June 5, 1916, in Highland County, daughter of the late Christian L. and Minnie May Jones Redkey. She was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church. She graduated from Greenfield McClain High School.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Sara Kathryn Redkey of Hillsboro; five nieces, Georgia M. Chaney of Wilmington, Maxine Cramton of Columbus, Marilyn (Lou) Bitar of Philadelphia, Pa., Rita (Bob) Jones of Hyannis, Mass., and Jayne (Ford) Halter of Hamilton; two nephews, James Cramton of Martinsville and Loren (Linda) Redkey of Hillsboro; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews; and seven great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, James Edwin Redkey, Robert Wayne Redkey, William J. “Bill” Redkey and Christian L. Redkey; and two sisters, Margaret A. McConnaughey and Kathryn R. Cramton.

Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at HOPE MILLER-THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME, 241 E. Main St., Hillsboro, John Cramton officiating, with burial in Greenfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Clinton County, 61 E. Main St., Wilmington, 45177.
