Marie E. Chamberlin
Died: Saturday, February 22, 2003
Age: 58

Marie E. Chamberlin, 58, of Reynoldsburg, died Saturday (Feb. 22, 2003) at Echo Manor Extended Care Center, Reynoldsburg.

She was born June 25, 1944, in Cincinnati, daughter of Granville H. Chamberlin of Lebanon and the late Louella Chamberlin. She had retired as a school teacher from the Columbus City School system. Marie graduated from Blanchester High School and from The Ohio State University. In retirement, she devoted her time to the Stephen Ministry, was active with the Emmaus Walk, and loved to lead Bible classes.

In addition to her father, Marie is survived by two brothers, Marvin (Joann) Chamberlin of Blanchester, and Melvin (Brenda) Chamberlin of Beaver, W.Va.; a sister, Shirley Ledford of Midland; a special friend, Brenda Waligura of Reynoldsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, Marie was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Vasser.

The funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at the Westboro United Methodist Church, Westboro, the Rev. H. Douglas Shriner and the Rev. Tony Hudson officiating, with interment in the Jefferson Township Cemetery, Westboro. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the TUFTS SCHILDMEYER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Main St. in Blanchester. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Westboro United Methodist Church Women's CWC, 110 Jonesboro Road, Midland, Ohio, 45148.

Danny Davis
Died: Friday, February 21, 2003
Age: 56

Danny Davis, 56, of Hillsboro, died unexpectedly Friday (Feb. 21, 2003) at the Highland District Hospital, Hillsboro. He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Barnes) Davis of Hillsboro.

Mr. Davis was born Aug. 9, 1946, in New Market, son of the late McClellan and Edna P. Kidder Davis. He was employed at Technicolor in Wilmington. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1161. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brian Davis of Dayton; two brothers, Wib (Ruth) Davis of Hillsboro and Dale (Barbara) Davis of Mason; a sister, Irene Stroop of Hillsboro; a sister-in-law, Betty Davis of Hillsboro; her father-in-law, Paul Barnes of Hillsboro; a brother-in-law, Ralph (Judy) Barnes of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William B. Davis.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the HOPE MILLER-THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME, 241 E. Main St., Hillsboro, Derek Stump officiating, with burial in the New Market Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, P.O. Box 182039 Dept. O13, Columbus, 43218-2039.

Rowena F. Farquer
Died: Friday, February 21, 2003
Age: 96

Rowena F. Farquer, 96, formerly of Lynchburg, died Friday (Feb. 21, 2003) at Heartland of Hillsboro.

She was born Feb. 9, 1907, in Warren County, daughter of the late James S. and Frances Louise Rilea Farquer. She had owned her own farm and raised dairy cows, grew and harvested tobacco, along with other farming responsibilities. In 1965, she retired from Wright Aeronautical and moved to Lynchburg.

She is survived by a grandson, Richard (Connie) Warner of Hillsboro; six great-grandchildren and their families, Christy Swartz, Richard Warner Jr., Jeromey Warner, Jamie Warner, and Tonie and Jonie Warner; five great-grandchildren, Mason, Bailey, Bryden, Annalyse and Tanner; a brother, Tom Farquer of Sardinia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lancaster; six brothers, Robert R., Clarence R., Ralph H., James C., Wilbur M. and Jack R. Farquer; and three sisters, Emma Mae Westfall, Ruby Culberson and Ruth Isabel Stanforth.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Blanchester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The DAVIS-TURNER FUNERAL HOME, Lynchburg, is serving the family.

Mary N. McCarren
Died: Friday, February 21, 2003
Age: 83

Mary N. McCarren, 83, formerly of Harveysburg, died Friday (Feb. 21, 2003) at Quaker Heights Nursing Home in Waynesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur K. McCarren.

Mrs. McCarren was born Nov. 14, 1919, in Port William, daughter of Charles and Ethel Brakefield Beason. She was a member of the Sharon United Methodist Church in Kingman. She was formerly employed at Clinton County National Bank and Murphy Bailey Realtors in Wilmington.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Nellie (Raymond) Rich of Waynesville and Lucy McCarren of Harveysburg; a brother, Owen (Dorothy) McCarren of Oregonia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Cecil and Dwight Beason.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miami Cemetery, Waynesville, Charles Ellison officiating. STUBBS-CONNER FUNERAL HOME, Waynesville, is in charge of the arrangements.

Carroll Brown Allen
Died: Thursday, February 20, 2003
Age: 93

Carroll Brown Allen, 93, died Thursday morning (Feb. 20, 2003) at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, S. Paul Allen, who died in 1989.

Mrs. Allen was born April 4, 1909, in Port William, daughter of the late Stephen C. and Nettie Shrack Brown. She and her husband lived in Atlanta, Ga., for many years.

She is survived by a sister, Mary Brown (Rendell) Vance of Wilmington, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Stephen C. Jr., Edmund, Lester and Henry Brown; and two sisters, Edith Brown Shanks and Pauline Brown.

Private services for the family will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of FISHER-EDGINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 97 W. Locust St., Wilmington.

Shirley F. Hardwick
Died: Wednesday, February 19, 2003
Age: 66

Shirley F. Hardwick, 66, died Wednesday (Feb. 19, 2003) at Arbor Hospice Residence.

She was born Aug. 23, 1936, in Prestonsburg, Ky., daughter of William and Jessie Steal Powell. She was a long-time Washtenaw County resident and had retired from Ford Motor Company, Saline Plant.

She is survived by six children, Phillip (Kristy) Hardwick, Deloris Ludwig, Patricia (Danny) Blanton, David Hardwick, Allen (Lynnette) Hardwick and Mary (Keith) Caudill; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Viola Plumley; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the NIE FUNERAL HOME, 2400 Carpenter Road, Ann Arbor, Mich., Pastor Elmer Caudill officiating, with burial in the Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
