Judith Simmons Ames, 79, of Savannah, Ga., died Friday (Nov. 29, 2002) at Memorial Health University Medical Center
She was born in Sturbridge, Mass., the daughter of the late Don W. and Ethel Simmons. She grew up in Wilmington and lived most of her adult life in Santa Maria, Calif. She moved to Savannah, Ga., from California in May 2001. She retired from Lucent Technologies (formerly Western Electric Co.) after more than 30 years of service.
She is survived by a son, William Michael Carruth of Savannah, Ga.; a daughter, Tarin (Mark) Swendra of Savannah, Ga.; a stepmother, Lucille Simmons of Wilmington; and a stepbrother, Timothy Simmons of Greensboro, N.C.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Ames; and a brother, Donald A. Simmons.
Private services will be held in Georgia. Visitation will be

Esther B. Troike Tanner Botts
Died: Thursday, November 28, 2002
Age: 95
Esther B. Troike Tanner Botts, 95, of 537 Van Tress Drive, Fairborn, went to be with the Lord at 8:20 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 28, 2002) at Patriot Ridge Community Nursing Facility, Fairborn. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Tanner, and her second husband, Elon W. Botts Sr., who died in 1987. Mrs. Botts married her second husband in 1955.
Mrs. Botts was born March 26, 1907, in Sandusky, daughter of the late Henry and Suzie Troike. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Fairborn.
She is survived by two stepsons, Elon W. Jr. (Eva) Botts of Grove City and Paul E. (Pam) Botts of Fairborn; two stepdaughters, Elma Rosell of Wilmington and Mary Alice (William) McConnell of Martinsville; a brother, Gilbert Troike of Sandusky; seven stepgrandchildren, James E. (Sue) Botts of Columbus, Joy (John) Ames of Wilmington, Sharon (Mark) Dome of Wilmington, Brenda (Neil) Heinz of Brunswick, Cathy (Dan) Rowley of Brunswick, Mark (Sandy) Flynn of Fairborn and Todd (Jennifer) Flynn of Enon; 20 stepgreat-grandchildren; and 14 stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband, her second husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Troike, and a stepgreat-granddaughter, Stacey Dome.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, with burial in Cowan Creek Cemetery, Clinton County. Marilyn J. Clark
Died: Tuesday, November 26, 2002
Age: 73
Marilyn J. Clark, 73, of Wilmington, died Tuesday (Nov. 26, 2002) at The Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. She is survived by her husband, Eugene Clark.
Mrs. Clark was born May 5, 1929, in Wilmington, daughter of the late William and Thelma Baber McKee. She was a former dietitian for Clinton Memorial Hospital and Prairie View Apartments. She also was a volunteer for Clinton County Head Start and the Orion Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of the Bible Missionary Baptist Church. She made baskets and crafts. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and being around children.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Nelson D. (Dena) Logan of Kingston, N.Y., and Timothy E. Clark of Columbus; six daughters, Sue Ann Logan of Wilmington, Deborah J. (Gerald) Woodruff of Wilmington, Delorse T. (Anthony) Geesbae of Sterling, W.Va., Linda D. (Charles Wilson) Clark of Indianapolis, Ind., Rhonda L. Clark of Xenia and Carla L. Logan of Wilmington; two brothers, Robert McKee of Wilmington and Dale McKee of Wilmington; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Kay Clark; and a brother.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Bible Missionary Baptist Church, 243 Grant St., Wilmington, the Rev. Kurtis Summerville officiating. N. Bruce Camp
Died: Tuesday, December 31, 2002
Age: 55
N. Bruce Camp, 55, of Hillsboro, formerly of Wilmington, died 4:45 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 31, 2002) at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington. He is survived by his wife, Debra Adams Camp. They were married June 18, 1967, and were married for 35 years.
Mr. Camp was born Dec. 18, 1947, in Wilmington, son of the late Alfred Frank and Norma Jane Dawson Camp. He was a self-employed contractor for 35 years. He built many homes and businesses in Clinton County with his brother, including Pizza Hut in Wilmington. He attended the Tower of Strength Church in New Vienna. He was an avid horse lover and owned many horses during his lifetime. He was a hunter and an outdoorsman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Pete Camp of Hillsboro and Luke Camp of Wilmington; a daughter, Heather Ann Camp of Wilmington; two brothers, Kenneth Leo (Pat) Camp of Wilmington and Roger (Judy) Camp of Hillsboro; a sister, Jeanie (Chris) Cluxton of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Jacob Osborne, Justyn Osborne and Jessup Ferguson; his mother-in-law, Mary Jane Adams of Wilmington; a cousin, David Cole of Hillsboro; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Hobert C. Cassidy

Hobert C. Cassidy, 74, of Washington Court House, died 7:43 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 31, 2002) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Viola Hester Cokonougher Cassidy. They were married Oct. 4, 1996.
Mr. Cassidy was born May 9, 1928, in Pike County, son of the late Ernest and Bertha Cook Cassidy. He was a former employee of Wayne Township and the state of Ohio.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two stepsons, Ralph Cokonougher of Logan and Clifford Cokonougher of Bainbridge; two stepdaughters, Judy Wical of Washington Court House and Shirley Davis of Greenfield; 15 stepgrandchildren; 15 stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Allen Cassidy of Washington Court House; a sister, Shirley (William) Smith of Washington Court House; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Charles Cassidy; and three sisters, Norma and Eleanor Cassidy and Ella Mae Swisselem.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday at MURRAY-FETTRO FUNERAL HOME, 380 Jefferson St., Greenfield, with burial in Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek. Dorothy M. Moon

Age: 81
Dorothy M. Moon, 81, of 75 Hale St., Wilmington, formerly of 360 Prairie Ave., Wilmington, died 1:40 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 31, 2002) at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Jesse Moon.
Mrs. Moon was born Dec. 20, 1921, in Addison in Hamilton County, daughter of the late Howard and Josephine McCorne Rudisell. She worked for many years as a retail clerk in Wilmington. Also, she sang with local bands for weddings and various occasions. She was a beloved aunt and a dear friend.
She is survived by a half sister-in-law, Nancy Mayfield of California; two half sisters, Betty (James) Owen of Anniston, Ala., and Virginia Craven of Anniston, Ala.; eight nieces and nephews, Carole I. (William) Bogan of Wilmington, Dolores A. (Franklin) Bogan of Sabina, Larry K. (Annette) Redfern of Wilmington, Robert V. Seslar of Palm Harbor, Fla., Jamie Owens of Anniston, Ala., Richard Mayfield of California, Robert Mayfield of California and Darla Mayfield of California; two godsons, David A. Hillard of Hillsboro and M. Dale Hillard of Centerville; a long-time friend, Velma Hillard; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a half brother, Richard Mayfield, and a half sister, Mary Ellen "Micki" Mayfield.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Clarksville Cemetery, the Rev. Ann Myers officiating. Charles Ray Richardson

Age: 81
Charles Ray Richardson, 81, of Wilmington, died Tuesday (Dec. 31, 2002) at Clinton Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Helen Howard Richardson of Wilmington. They were married Dec. 6, 1941, and were married for 61 years.
Mr. Richardson was born Jan. 3, 1921, in the Pansy community, son of the late Charles J. and Lucille Carnahan Richardson. He had attended the church at Villars Chapel. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served with Patton's Third Army during World War II. He received the Purple Heart during his service and was a member of the D.A.V.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles Allen (Carolyn) Richardson of Wilmington; four grandchildren, David (Tracy) Richardson of Wilmington, Dean Richardson of Wilmington, Joey Richardson of New Vienna and Janelle Richardson of New Vienna; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Alyssa and Charles Jalen Richardson; two brothers-in-law, Jack Fisher of Wilmington and Denver (Sammie) Howard of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Sidders of Tennessee; and a special aunt, Mary Howard of Wilmington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Lee Richardson; a sister, Mildred Frazier; and a grandson, Marc Andrew Richardson.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at FISHER-EDGINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 97 W. Locust St., Wilmington, the Rev. John Foster officiating, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded by the Wilmington American Legion Post 49 memorial squad. Helen M. Gilliland
Died: Monday, December 30, 2002
Age: 94
Helen M. Gilliland, 94, of Lynchburg, died Monday afternoon (Dec. 30, 2002) at Highland District Hospital, Hillsboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred "Tater" Gilliland, who died Oct. 11, 1978.
Mrs. Gilliland was born Feb. 21, 1908, in Lynchburg, daughter of the late Bunnie E. and Rose Elizabeth Huffner Archer. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Mozelle (Wilmer) Malone of Lynchburg; a niece, Phyllis (Junior) Hostetler of Lynchburg; a great-niece, Jonda Quintero of Richmond, Ind.; a great-nephew, Jeff (Norma) Hostetler of Cedarville; a great-great-niece, Alaina; and two great-great-nephews, Glenn and Jeb.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Narcissus Credit, and a brother, Russell Archer.
