Emma I. Pauley Deatley Robbins
Died: Saturday, August 24, 2002
Emma I. Pauley Deatley Robbins, a resident of Cape May Retirement Village and most recently of Mount Pleasant Retirement Village Nursing Facility, died at Middletown Regional Hospital Saturday morning (Aug. 24, 2002). She was preceded in death by her first husband, Oather H. Deatley, who died in 1972. The couple was married in 1933. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, the Rev. Marshall Robbins, who died in 1995. The couple was married in 1977.
She was born June 13, 1917 near Greenup, Ky., the daughter of the late Maude Boggs Pauley and Lace J. Pauley.
She spent most of her life in the Sabina and Leesburg areas as a mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a member of the Wilmington Nazarene Church, and dedicated her life to sharing her faith and ministering to the needs of those about her. She will be greatly missed by friends and family.
She is survived by three children, Herbert E. (Phyllis) Deatley of Greenfield, Wilma Jane (Bobby) Quigley of Martinsville and Roger L. (Thelma) Deatley of Albany; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Hieneman of Clearwater, Fla., Carrie (Norman) Lawrence of Dayton and Evelyn Hatch of Xenia; a brother, Robert (Phyllis) Pauley of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Wilmington Church of the Nazarene, with burial in the New Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wilmington Church of the Nazarene, 2193 state Route 73 West, Wilmington, 45177.
Patty L. Thomas
Died: Saturday, August 24, 2002
Age: 68
Patty L. Thomas, 68, of Sabina, died Saturday (Aug. 24, 2002) at her residence.
She was born Aug. 1, 1934, in Loveland, daughter of the late Heber L. and Donna Lou Gaskins Bentley. She was a retired nurse, having worked at Autumn Years Nursing Center and the former Heathergreene II in Jamestown. She attended Sabina High School and graduated from Laurel Oaks Nursing School in 1982. She was a long-time paramedic and member and former captain of the Sabina Life Squad. She was one of the originators of Christmas Around Sabina Town, and was very active in arts and crafts. She was a member of the Sabina Friends Church and the Sabina Women of the Moose.
She is survived by four children, Vicki Lancen and Lori Thomas of Sabina, Becky Blair of Hilliard, and Mark Thomas of Leesburg; eight grandchildren, David Morris, Patrick Sullivan, Latosha Campbell Larch, Donna Lancen, Shannon Stewart Hall, Adam Thomas, Jarred Carson and Matthew Carson; seven great-grandchildren, Robbie and Samantha Morris, Alyssa, Natalie and Shane Sullivan, Mercedes Larch and Lauren Hall; a sister, Judy (Hank) Schock of Bradenton, Fla.; and a very special friend, Wanda Everman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Jack Bentley; and a grandson, Doug Haines.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, with burial in the Sabina Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a Women of the Moose service at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Sabina Friends Church, Sabina Life Squad of the Women of the Moose 1074.
Wilma Jean Jackson
Died: Thursday, August 22, 2002
Age: 81
Wilma Jean Jackson, 81, formerly of Hillsboro, died Thursday (Aug. 22, 2002) in Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Jackson. They were married in 1939.
Mrs. Jackson was born Aug. 29, 1920, in Fayette County, daughter of the late Walter and Dorcas Woodruff Tillis. She was a member of the Eastern Star of New Vienna and the Methodist church.
She is survived by a daughter, Kay Frances (James) Day of Hamilton; a son, James K. (Sharon) Jackson of Phoenix; several grandchildren; two sisters, Glenna Webb of Wilmington and Gardenia Morris of Oklahoma City; and a brother, Ronald Tillis of Winchester.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Walter Jr. and Charles; and four sisters, Betty Reedy, Dimples Bernard, Donna Benson and Abigale Tillis.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Centerville Cemetery in Lees Creek. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina.
Larry J. Newton
Died: Thursday, August 22, 2002
Age: 60
Larry J. Newton, 60, of 1402 Hale Road, Wilmington, died 4:10 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 22, 2002) at the home of his daughter, Debra Ames, 5996 SR 28 East, New Vienna.
Mr. Newton was born Dec. 8, 1941, in Chester Township, Clinton County, son of the late Clifford and Hazel Freeze Newton. He had retired from Zicca Construction Co. in Cincinnati. He graduated in 1959 from Kingman High School.
He is survived by two sons, Donald R. Newton of Greenfield and David R. Newton of Wilmington; two daughters, Donna Robin Tucker of Columbus and Debra R. (Robert) Ames of New Vienna; two brothers, Richard "Dick" (Nancy) Newton of Wilmington and Charles David Newton of Summerfield, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Ann (Robert) Nichols of Calhoun, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; and a great-aunt, Minnie Smart of Wilmington.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at REYNOLDS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, with burial in Clinton memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Cheryl J. Morris Campbell

Age: 55
Cheryl J. Morris Campbell, 55, of Sabina, died Wednesday (Aug. 21, 2002) at Clinton Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Gregg Campbell.
Mrs. Campbell was born Nov. 5, 1946, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Robert "Knute" and Jessie Dawson Morris. She had retired as a nurse. She graduated in 1964 from Sabina High School and attended Southern State Nursing School.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Brandi Cleaver of Sabina; four brothers, Ricky (Janet) of Wilmington, Sam of Sabina, Mac (Judy) of Wilmington and Billy of Sabina; and two sisters, Jill Caudill of Sabina and Lisa (Mike) Bush of West Chester.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Mark and Dean; and a sister, Myra.
Funeral services will be held noon Monday at LITTLETON FUNERAL HOME, 104 N. Jackson St., Sabina, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Jacqueline L. Rose
Died: Monday, August 19, 2002
Age: 63
Jacqueline L. Rose, 63, of Clarksville, died 2:50 p.m. Monday (Aug. 19, 2002) at Clinton Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Peter Jerry Rose. They were married May 2, 1958.
Mrs. Rose was born Oct. 30, 1938, in Cincinnati, daughter of the late Harry Huber and Elizabeth Steinman Huber. She was a retired employee of Clinton-Massie Schools. She was a member of Villars Chapel United Methodist Church and the Villars Chapel Women's Group. She graduated in 1956 from Hughes High School, Cincinnati, and attended Deaconess School of Nursing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jacob Peter (Melissa) Rose of Wilmington and Robert Michael (Claudia) Rose of Martinsville; a daughter-in-law, Sheila Rose of Clarksville; a foster son, Jesse Mann of Jeffersonville; two daughters, Jeri Lyn (Billy) Wood of Lebanon and Crystal (Dave) Fields of Middletown; a sister, Virginia McGuire of Blanchester; nine grandchildren, Greg Rose, Phillip Rose, Amy Fields, Julia Fields, Alice Wood, Jasha Rose, Michael Rose, Luke Rose and Tyler Rose; nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bill and Marge Lillis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepmother, Jessie Huber; two brothers, Harry Huber Jr. and George Huber; and two sisters, Jessie Brinston and Margarite Brown.
Memorial services will be held 6 p.m. today at Villars Chapel United Methodist Church, State Route 350 and State Route 730, Wilmington, Pastor John Foster officiating. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, with burial in Vine Street Hill Cemetery, Vine Street, Cincinnati. Anna Lucille Speaight Crawford

Age: 89
Anna Lucille Speaight Crawford, 89, of 820 E. Center St., Blanchester, formerly of 99 Newham St., Wilmington, died 1:55 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 18, 2002) at Continental Manor, Blanchester. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Minor Frank Howell and Edward Crawford.
Mrs. Crawford was born April 9, 1913, in Oregonia in Warren County, daughter of the late George William and Anna Jeanette Kimmerly Speaight. She was a retired caregiver in the Clinton County area. When she was able, she attended Bible Baptist Church in Wilmington with her daughter. She also attended church services at Continental Manor on Sundays. She was involved in several activities at Continental Manor.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet L. (Otis) Hayslip of Wilmington; a son-in-law, Curtis Davis of Newport, N.C.; a sister, Wynona Keltner of Springfield, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Roy McCray of Clarksville; nine grandchildren, Curt Davis of North Carolina, Ronald Davis of North Carolina, Lisa Walters of North Carolina, Theresa Ferguson of North Carolina, Patricia Augestine of North Carolina, Gwendolyn Marsh of Kansas, Trieva Dawley of Midland, Melissa Woodgeard of Wilmington and Brenda Cox of Wilmington; 20 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; two nephews, Doug Howell of Wilmington and Tommy Howell of Wilmington; and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands and parents, a daughter, Patricia Ann Davis; three brothers, Fred, Harold and Phillip Speaight; five sisters, Mildred Marlar, Nellie McCray, Ina LePell, Edna Waites and Ethel Monahan; and a great-grandchild.

Roberta Camp Walls

Age: 76
Roberta Camp Walls, 76, of Blanchester, died 5:03 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 17, 2002) at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington. She was preceded by her husband, James E. Walls, who died Dec. 3, 2001. They were married March 20, 1976.
Mrs. Walls was born June 2, 1926, in Clinton County, daughter of the late John William and Mamie Jelena Nichols Camp.
She is survived by three stepsons, James A. Walls of Dayton, Michael E. Walls of Wilmington and Gregory A. Walls of Wilmington; a daughter, Vicki D. (Harry) Lambcke of Summerfield, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Sandra (Randell) Clouse of Fairborn; two brothers, Kenneth (Joan) Camp of Wilmington and Dean A. Camp of Wilmington; a sister-in-law, Ruth Camp of Wilmington; a sister, Shirley A. Dawson of Middletown; two grandchildren; Jeffery A. Lambcke of Summerfield, Fla., and Jason W. (Debra) Lambcke of Ocala, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Joseph Lambcke, Jesse Lambcke and Hayley Lambcke; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Clarissa Walls, Eric Roberts and Candace Roberts; and many nieces and nephews.
