Bill Baxter
COLUMBIA CITY, IN -- Former Warsaw, IN resident Bill F. Baxter, 65, died Friday, December 1, 2000 at his home.
He was born in Harlan, IN.
His wife, Bonnie R., died in 1998.
He was a mechanic and hauled grain. He also worked in Essex in Fort Wayne, IN and retired in 1997 from Zollner Pistons Corp., Fort Wayne.
Surviving are three sons, Dennis Jennings, Marlboro, NJ, Barry Metzger, Australia, and Dave, Larwill, IN; two daughters, Dorotha Sue Schuman, Larwill, and Paula Kincaid, South Whitley, IN; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Richard, Larwill, and Gene, Churubusco, IN; and three sisters, Ruth Johnson, Hicksville, and Judy Carmichael and Sharon Conley, both of Columbia City.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 6 (today) at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Memorials to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Fund.
Mamie Ginther
HICKSVILLE -- Mamie Ginther, 102, formerly of 116 West Smith Street, died at 8:50 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2000 at Fountain Manor Care Center, where she had been a patient since July 23, 1992.
She was born on March 24, 1898 in West Virginia, the daughter of William and Martha (Moore) Craig. On October 22, 1919 she was united in marriage with Irving L. Ginther, who died on February 15, 1985.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, William "Bill," Kent, OH, and Max, Fort Wayne, IN; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Walter, and a daughter, Helen Bradley.
Funeral services were held in Brown Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 3. Rev. Tom Graves, Pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in Scipio Cemetery, Allen County, IN.
Willa Albert
PAULDING -- Willa Mae Albert, 75, died at 3:15 Saturday, December 2, 2000 in Vancrest Health Care Center, Van Wert.
She was born on August 21, 1925 in Hicksville, the daughter of Olen and Flossie (Hall) Kisabeth. In 1944 she married Darris Albert, who survives.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Eagles Auxiliary, Paulding.
Also surviving are a son, Darris, Paulding; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Sandra) White, Osage Beach, MO; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
There will be no services or visitation.
Brickner Funeral Home, Van Wert, is in charge of arrangements.
Ralph Bice
HICKSVILLE -- At press time we received word of the December 5 death of Ralph A. Bice, 80, 115 1/2 West Hicks Street.
Friends may call at Brown Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 6 (today). Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 7.
Nellie Billman
ANTWERP -- Nellie May Billman, 88, died at 9:12 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2001 at Dallas Lamb Foundation Home, Payne.
She was born on October 3, 1912 in Antwerp, the daughter of William and Barbara M. (Boyd) Reed. On June 28, 1952 she married Melvin "Dugan" Billman, who died in 1986.
She was a bookkeeper for 12 years at Schilb and Sons Furniture, Antwerp.
She was a member of Antwerp United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, and 500 Card Club.
Survivors include a son, Lynn Savage, Coral, MI; two daughters, Carol Dunderman, Antwerp, and Barbara Brown, Hicksville; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Rex "Pete" Savage; two sisters, Worthy Donnell and Edith Leiniger; and two brothers, Cloyce Donnell and Henry Donnell.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 24 (today) from 2-9 p.m. at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, and one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be held at the church at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 25, with Rev. Thomas D. Ketzler officiating. Burial will follow in Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp.

Margaret Jeffery
ANTWERP -- Margaret M. "Peg" Jeffery, 88, died at 4:20 a.m. Sunday, January 21, 2001 at Dallas Lamb Foundation Home, Payne.
She was born on July 4, 1912 in Emerald Township, Paulding County, the daughter of Andrew and Ida (Rousch) Bakle. She graduated from St. Vincent's Nursing School, Toledo. In 1946 in Cecil, OH, she married Delbert Jeffery; he died in 1993.
She was a nurse at Antwerp Schools and also worked at Fountain Manor Care Center, Hicksville.
She served as a nurse in the U.S. Army during World War I.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Antwerp.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Jordan, Antwerp, and Judith Parker, Loveland, OH; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Joseph Bakle, William Bakle and Charles Bakle, and a sister, Ruby Mullett.
Funeral services will be held at the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 24 (today). Father Herman Scherger and Deacon Robert Nighswander will officiate. Burial will follow in Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp. A Catholic vigil service was held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 23 at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.
