Greta Ruth Corinne Elfner
Greta Ruth Corinne Elfner, infant, of Delaware, died Friday (July 16, 2004) at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
She is survived by her parents, Nate and Jenn Elfner of Delaware; brother, Drew Thatcher Elfner of Delaware; maternal grandparents, Mike and Judy England of Delaware; paternal grandparents, Lynn and Sue Elfner of Delaware; maternal great-grandparents, Ed and Jean Flahive of Delaware and Barbara and Bob England of Marion; two aunts, Amy (Jim) Sordi of Solon and Angy (Bryon) Zalenski of Columbus; an uncle, Bob England of New Albany; great-aunt, Laura England of Worthington; cousin, Megan Zalenski of Columbus; paternal great aunt and uncle Janet and David Pierson; cousin Elizabeth Pierson; and many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A private memorial service will be held by family.

Barbara Helen Hewitt
Barbara Helen Hewitt, 75, of Bradford, Ill., died Wednesday (July 14, 2004) at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Ill.
She was born May 18, 1929 in Princeton, Ill., to the late Otto and Melinda (Towne) Tindle. She was married on May 31, 1966 in Peoria, to Thomas Kenneth Hewitt, who preceded her in death on June 1, 1997. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bradford.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary (Mike) Johnson of Delaware, Jane (Gary) Roberson of Westplaines, Mo., Shelly Verbout of Wyanet, Ill., and Kaye (Ty) Nelson of Bradford; three sons, Merle Hewitt of Wyanet, Gary (Eugena) Dye of Walnut, Ill., and Dale (Juli) Hewitt of Delaware; three sisters, Rose (Tom) Roggy of Princeton, Grace (Charles) Henning of Hennipen, Ill., and Faye Malavotti of Hennipen; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Korey Foster.
Visiting hours were Sunday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford, where services were held this morning, with the Rev. Frank Brozenec officiating. Burial was in Bradford Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tom Roberson, Joe Roberson, Pat Dye, Chris Dye, Jason Dye, Kendal Foster and Brandon Hewitt. Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Hewitt and Kory Roberts.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bradford Rescue Squad.

Candom O. Snyder
Candom O. Snyder, 89, of Delaware, died early Sunday morning (July 18, 2004) at the Cherith Care Center at Willow Brook Christian Village.
He was born May 13, 1915 in Morgan County, W.Va., to Lewis Snyder and Rowena (Tucker) Snyder. He retired from Elger’s in Marysville and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a beekeeper and sold honey. He was well known for his carving of gun stock and was a member of the Delaware Trapshoot Club on U.S. 36W and a member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by three daughters, Peggy (George) Buckingham of Delaware, Marcena Webster of North Lewisburg and Jennie (Dean) Ecker of Ashley; one son, Dan (Julie) Snyder of Marengo; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Ashbrook of Ashley; and two brothers, Wallace Snyder of Marysville and Robert Snyder of Delaware.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; son, Ted; granddaughter, Becky; three brothers, Charles, Ralph and Frank Snyder; and two sisters, Beulah Shuster and Mildred Miller.
Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Rodman Bennett Brown Funeral Home, 92 N. Sandusky St., where funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Darrell Anderson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cherith Care Center at Willow Brook,100 Willow Brook Way South, Delaware, OH 43015.

Alkie Mary Evans
Alkie Mary Evans, 76, of Ashley, died Saturday night (Aug. 7, 2004).
She was born Sept. 19, 1927 in Pickaway County to Arthur and Jessie Adams Large. She was an Ashley resident for over 50 years, was a member of the Stantontown Advent Christian Church and was a devoted homemaker to her family.
She is survived by two sons, Leslie Wayne Evans and Kent Armon Evans, both of Ashley; a grandson, Justin Davenport Howell of Coldwell; a great-grandson, Joseph Allen Howell; three sisters, Martha Kazoon of Russell’s Point, Shirley Knapp of Ashville and Joella Pennington of Ashley; two brothers, Arnold Large of Orient and Lawrence Large of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tillman; two daughters, Karen Lee Evans and Phyllis Howell; her mother-in-law, Rosa Evans; and a sister, Lorna Whalen.
Visiting hours will be from from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Rodman Bennett Brown Funeral Home, 92 N. Sandusky St., where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Keith Daniels officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice At Grady, 561 W. Central Ave., Delaware OH 43015 or to the Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Judith "Judy" Eaches Schellenberg
Judith "Judy" Eaches Schellenberg, 59, of Delaware and formerly of Radnor, died unexpectedly Friday (Aug. 6, 2004) at her residence. Completed arrangements will be announced by Rodman Bennett Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in Delaware.

Amanda Michaelle (Miller) Grunden
Amanda Michaelle (Miller) Grunden, 38, of Savoy, Ill., died Thursday (Aug. 26, 2004).
She was born Dec. 16, 1965 in Columbus to Michael and Patricia (Gribben) Miller. A recipient of numerous awards, she graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Ohio Wesleyan University, with degrees in music, anthropology and sociology. She received her Ph.D. from the anthropology department of the University of Illinois. She had been employed by the University of Illinois in the academic outreach department. She conducted dissertation research on cultural anthropology in Indonesia as a Fulbright Scholar, and shot video for the National Geographic Society. An accomplished musician, vocalist and artist, she loved nature, travel, cycling, volunteer work, and multi-media development and production.
She is survived by her husband, Eric Grunden of Savoy; her father and stepmother, Michael and Penny Miller of Wheeling, W.Va.; her mother, Patricia Miller of Delaware; two brothers, Michael Miller of Herndon, Va., and Benjamin Miller of Delaware; and two grandmothers, Phyllis Gribben of Delaware and Catherine Miller of Wheeling.
She was preceded in death by two grandfathers.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove, Rantoul, IL 61866.

Tony Blevins
Tony Blevins, 53, of Delaware, died Friday (Oct. 8, 2004) at his home.
He was born Feb. 4, 1951 in Melvin, Ky., to Ralph and Milda (Mills) Blevins. He graduated from South High School in Springfield and had resided in Delaware County since 2000. He was employed by Honda in material services.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; a son, Andrew of Delaware; a daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Stephen Myers of Marengo; a sister, Judy Daniel of Delaware; a brother, Bill Blevins of Enon; and three grandchildren, Joshua and Alexis Myers, and Basha Wyatt.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home, 32 W. Winter St., with the Rev. Don Hicks officiating.

Teresa J. Feeney Conley
Teresa J. Feeney Conley, 80, of Marysville, died Friday (Oct. 8, 2004) at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was born March 27, 1924 in Steubenville to the late Matthew and Catherine Quinn Feeney. She was a 1942 graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School and a 1947 graduate of Mount Carmel School of Nursing. A registered nurse for over 40 years, she worked at the Juvenile Diagnostic Center, Central Ohio Psychiatric Hospital, Orient State Institution and the Timken and Ranco companies. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She retired in 1986 from the Ohio Reformatory for Women after 15 years of service.
She is survived by five children, Lucinda “Cindy” (Jeff Schwade) Adams of Columbus, Susan J. Sheets, and her fiance Robert Crossman, of Ostrander, Jeffrey M. (Jamie) Conley of Warrensburg, Virginia K. “Kay” (Bob) Paden of Marysville and Robert Timothy Conley of Marysville; seven grandchildren, Chris Ebright, Matthew Briggs, William and Benjamin Sheets, Katie Adams, Elizabeth Erickson and Lynn Conley; and three great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Daniel and Riley.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Spellacy and Virginia McGill; a brother, Robert Feeney; and two nephews, Robert Spellacy and Matthew McGill.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The Rev. David A. Poliafico will officiate and burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the Union County Cancer Society.
Underwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis J. Dattilo
Phyllis J. Dattilo, 77, died Friday (Oct. 8, 2004).
She was born Nov. 15, 1926 in Delaware. She was retired from Defense Construction Supply Center as a defense logistics agent. She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Sunbury.
She is survived by her children, James (Lynda) Weissenfluh of Marengo, Michael (Glenna) Dattilo of Sunbury, Diane Weissenfluh of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mary (Bill) Beacom of Delaware and Pat Dattilo of Sunbury; a brother, Bob (Norma) Higgins of Spring Hill, Fla.; a sister, Carol (John) Salyers of Fort Pierce, Fla.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Hank Weissenfluh and Frank Dattilo; parents, Rosalie and Clyde Higgins; and a sister, Lois Meeker.
Visiting hours were Sunday, with a funeral Mass held this morning at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Sunbury, with the Rev. James Walter as celebrant. Interment was at St. Joseph’s cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Delaware County.

Gladys R. Mitchell
Gladys R. Mitchell, 93, formerly of Marengo, died Saturday (Dec. 4, 2004) at Bennington Glen Nursing Center.
She was born in Olive Green on Nov. 5, 1911 to the late Audley and Ethel (Criss) Metzger. She had worked as an aide at the Delaware County Home, retiring in the 1960s. She enjoyed reading, her garden, flowers and doing word search puzzles.
She is survived by two daughters, Naomi (Earl) White of Newark and Edna Dawson of Shreve; two sons, George of Chesterton, Ind., and Ansel (Nancy) of Logan; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren; and her sister, Annis Jean Wissinger of Millersport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Golden R. Mitchell, on Nov. 22, 1980; one son, Ivan “Ike”; two daughters, Dorothy Nebel and Gloria Olson; two brothers, Dallas and A.C. Metzger; and one sister, Marie DeMaine.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 73 W. Walnut St., Marengo, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Gene Waters officiating. Interment will follow in the Marengo Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Morrow County Hospice, P.O. Box 86, Mount Gilead, OH 43338.

Marjorie Mae Bright
Marjorie Mae Bright, 81, of Delaware, died Friday morning (Jan. 28, 2005) in the emergency room at Grady Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 9, 1923 in Marysville, to Walter Louck and Margaret (Gragg) Louck. She retired from the housekeeping department at Grady Memorial Hospital and had lived most of her life in Delaware.
She is survived by two sons, James Jr. and Alvin of Delaware; four daughters, Judy (Dick) Cantrell of Stafford, Ariz., Vickie (Frank) Carson of Patriot, Connie (David) Congrove of Radnor, and Sheila (Wayne) Brooks of Delaware; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene Louck of Marysville; and three sisters, Betty Gordon of Delaware, Dorothy Organ of Morrow County, and Bernice Fausnaugh of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Bright Sr. in 1993; a brother, Walter Louck Jr.; and two sisters, June Bateman and Elma Regal.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rodman Bennett Brown Funeral Home, 92 N. Sandusky St., where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville.
