Hilda T. Hay
Hilda T. Hay, 82, formerly of Fostoria, died Saturday afternoon (Jan. 29, 2005) in the Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.
She was born Dec. 1, 1922 in Delaware to the late Francis G. and Ethel (Curtis) Haas. She married Willard R. “Bill” Hay Dec. 21, 1944 in Napoleon. She was retired from RCA in Findlay, and had worked at the Fostoria License Bureau. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and its Rosary-Altar Society in Fostoria, and of the Fostoria Woman’s Club. She will be remembered as a faithful woman to her family and faith. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially wintering at their North Fort Myers, Fla., home. She was an avid card player and enjoyed taking daily walks with her friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Teri L. (Ralph) Wise of Fostoria; one son, Willard R. “Bill” (Brenda) Hay Jr. of Fostoria; six grandchildren, Dale Rumschlag, Billy Hay, Kimberlee McClellan, Dawn Patterson, Tony Hay and Jessica Wise; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Susie Davis of Delaware; and two brothers, Frank Haas and James Haas, both of Delaware.
She was preceded death by her husband on April 6, 1998; one grandson, Douglas Rumschlag; one sister, Mary Davis; and one brother, John Haas.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. There will be a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, corner of North Wood Street and College Avenue, Fostoria, where a Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Wendelin Church and Schools, North Wood Street and College Avenue, Fostoria, OH 44830.

Frank Porter Jackson Jr.
Frank Porter Jackson Jr., 80, of Ashley, died Saturday morning (Jan. 29, 2005) at the Columbus Alzheimer’s Care Center.
He was born Dec. 3, 1924 in Portsmouth to Frank Jackson Sr. and Freda Odela (Peak) Jackson. He was the Ashley postmaster for 25 years and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. He was a member of the Ashley United Methodist Church, Ashley American Legion Post, and the Hiram Masonic Lodge No. 18 F&AM. He was very active in Ashley community affairs, serving as village administrator and on the board of community public affairs.
He is survived by a daughter, Judy (David) Wheeland of Ashley; two sons, Mike (Donna) of Mount Gilead and Mark (Gail) of Ashley; six grandchildren, Seth Jackson, Jeff and Greg Wheeland, and Adam, Travis and Amanda Jackson; one brother, David Jackson of Delaware; and two sisters, Neva Burns of Portsmouth and Betty Morson of Norfolk, Va.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, with whom he was married for 50 years, Marcella Jackson; and his second wife, Lois Maxine Dart Jackson; three brothers, John, Kenneth and James; and two sisters, Marion Davies and Martha Salyer.
Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Rodman Bennett Brown Funeral Home, 307 E. High St., Ashley, where Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ashley United Methodist Church, 214 E. High St., Ashley, with the Rev. Joseph Sopher officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the Delaware County Veterans Association, will follow in Ashley Union Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ashley United Methodist Church, 214 E. High St., Ashley OH 43003.

Daphne Faye Tone
Daphne Faye Tone, 92, of Delaware, died Saturday afternoon (Jan. 29, 2005) at the Centrum at Willow Brook.
She was born Dec. 7, 1912 in Bellepoint to George F. Thomas and Maud (Watkins) Thomas. She was a homemaker and farmer’s wife who was a member of the Hyatts United Methodist Church and the Pocahontas Lodge. She was also very active in 4-H, serving as a leader/adviser, and at the Delaware County Fair, and as a Democratic committee member.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Joseph) Diamond of Delaware; two sisters, Louise Campbell of Columbus, and Esther Mills; one brother, Joe Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, in 1984; and six brothers and sisters.
Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Rodman Bennett Brown Funeral Home, 92 N. Sandusky St., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Tim Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Oller Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hyatts United Methodist Church, 6000 Liberty Road, Powell, OH 43065.

Eugene K. Corbin
Eugene K. Corbin, 77, of Delaware, died Friday (March 4, 2005) in Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 30, 1927 in Morrow County to Grover and Ellen (Philips) Corbin. He served with the U.S. Army in World War II and was stationed in Japan. He retired after 45 years of service at the Delaware Rural Electric Co-op, Delaware. He was a member of AMVETS Post 102 and was a Golden Eagle in Aerie No. 376. He was an avid golfer and card player.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J.; a daughter, Terri Corbin Gatton (Dan) of Buckeye Lake; a son, Patrick Kelly Corbin of Phoenix; two stepsons, Ken Wiese, Jr. (Sis) and Tim Wiese, both of Delaware; grandchildren, Jodie Gatton Wegmiller (Phil) of Delaware, Amy Gatton (Jerry) of Columbus, Kristina (Adam) LaFever and Phil Stanley of Delaware; a brother, Jack Corbin of Orlando; sisters-in-law, Betty (Bill) Corbin of Delaware, LeElan (Art) Corbin of Mount Gilead and Agnes Bauman of Delaware; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 11 siblings.
Visiting hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home, 32 W. Winter St., with a Fraternal Order of Eagles service at 8 p.m., followed by a funeral service, with the Rev. Carl Schaefer officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Richard Davis 'Bill' Doutt
Richard Davis 'Bill' Doutt, 64, died Thursday morning (March 3, 2005) unexpectedly at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 23, 1940 in Pliney, W.Va., to Amon and Rilla Davis Doutt. He had lived most of his life in the Delaware area and had retired from the Glenwood Range Co. after 28 1/2 years of service. He is a member of the Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church, where he was chairman of the ushering committee. He devoted most of his free time to the activities of the church by assisting the Rev. Wayne Keith with most anything that needed done.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki; a son, Clint (Mary) of Milton, W.Va.; two daughters, Pansy Doutt and Tina Doutt of Lexington, N.C.; two stepsons, Todd Helman and Tim (Tonya) Helman of Delaware; three stepdaughters, Melissa (Mike) Spires of Ostrander, Jody Helman of Ashley, and Heather Helman of Delaware; 18 grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Crist of Florida.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Hatfield; and his parents.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church, 230 Hayes St., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Keith officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made at the church.

James E. Gibson
James E. Gibson, 83, of Delaware, died Saturday (April 30, 2005) in the Arbors At Delaware.
He was born March 15, 1922 in Cabell County, W. Va., to Ira and Julia (Dillie) Gibson. He was an Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was a retired mechanic for W.W. Williams in Columbus and a member of the Living Church of God. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and never lost his faith in God.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise, whom he married June 27, 1942; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Charlene and John Howison of Ostrander, Teresa O’Connell of Delaware, and Crystie and Sean O’Neil of Dublin; and four grandchildren, Andre Howison of Ostrander, Duane Howison of Dallas, Texas, and Jessica and Emily Schleder of Dublin.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lt. James M., a U.S. Navy pilot who was lost at sea in 1971; a brother, Earnie; and two sisters, Lille Daly and Verna Mae Sargent.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Robinson Funeral Home, Delaware, where a funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Minister Charles Knowlton officiating. Following cremation, private interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Ostrander.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice at Grady, 561 W. Central Ave., Delaware, OH 43015.

Virginia L. 'Jenny' Hylton
Virginia L. 'Jenny' Hylton, 68, of Marengo died Saturday evening (April 30, 2005) at Morrow Manor Nursing Center in Chesterville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 229, Marengo, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m., with Pastor Greg Masteller officiating. Burial will follow at Marengo Cemetery.

Sally McClure
Sally McClure, 92, died Sunday morning (May 1, 2005) at Delaware Court Health Care Center. Arrangements will be announced in the Gazette by the Holly Springs Funeral Home of Mississippi. Rodman Bennett Brown Funeral Home handled the local arrangements.

David E. Rardin
David E. Rardin, 60, of Ashley, died Saturday (April 30, 2005) at Grady Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Duane Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.

Kenneth Ralph VanBuren
Kenneth Ralph VanBuren, 79, of Lewis Center, died Saturday (April 30, 2005) at his residence. Arrangements will be announced later in the Gazette by Robinson Funeral Home.

Emmitt Wallace
Emmitt Wallace, 59, of Ashley, died Sunday (May 1, 2005) at Ohio State University Hospital. Arrangements will be announced by Rodman Bennett Brown Funeral Home & Crematory, Delaware.

Margaret A. Danner
Margaret A. Danner, 86, of Delaware, died Saturday (Sept. 17, 2005) in Wintersong Village Nursing Facility.
She was born April 27, 1919 in Tuscarora, Pa., to Joseph and Sarah (Herring) Gibson. On June 27, 1941 she married her husband, William Danner, who preceded her in death in February 2005.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Gary Hrenko of Delaware; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Cheryl Danner of Monroe, La.; daughter-in-law, Dyann Danner of Bakersfield, Calif.; grandchildren, Joseph Danner of North Carolina, Sharie Danner of Texas, Scott Danner of Lousiana, and Sulaina, Saryna and Jason Hrenko, all of Delaware.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph; a brother, John Gibson; and two sisters, Mary Sisk and Jane Asmuth.
A private service will be held for the family. Arrangements are in charge of Robinson Funeral Home, 32 W. Winter St.

George T. Dennis
George T. Dennis, 74, formerly of Columbus and a longtime resident of Delaware, died unexpectedly on Friday (Oct. 21, 2005) at his residence.
He was born May 5, 1931 in Delaware to George and Eva Nielsen Dennis.
He was a graduate of Willis High School and an United States Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict. He also was a retired mechanic for C. W. Transport.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Brad (Colleen) Dennis, Tony (Sandy) Dennis, Jon Dennis of Marysville and John Golden of Columbus; daughter and son-in-law, Denys (Brent) Jones of Delaware; grandchildren, Mikel Jones, Holly Jones, Tyler Dennis, Sarah Dennis, Virginia (Chris) Finley, Julia Dennis, Alan Dennis, April Dennis, James Dennis and Abbie Dennis; great-grandchildren, Aaron Jones, Zackery Jones and Nathan Jones.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Robinson Funeral Home in Delaware. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Radnor Cemetery with the Rev. John Quist officiating and the Delaware County Veterans Association bestowing military honors.
