Jacqwelynn R. (Jackie) Holly
Jacqwelynn R. (Jackie) Holly, 69, of Delaware, lost her long battle to cancer Monday (Jan. 9, 2006) at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was born April 28, 1936 in Delaware to William and Annette (Bargdill) Liebenderfer. Holly attended St. Mary School through grade school and graduated from Willis High School, where she was a cheerleader. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a member of the Lions Club and was Lioness of the year 1994-95. She was employed at The Style Shop and was a model in their charity style shows. She was employed 22 years at Modern Finance before she went to work for Savings of America, where she was a manager and then vice-president. She was part owner of Holly Grill in downtown Delaware.
She is survived by her husband, Donnie; three precious granddaughters, Nikki, Jamie, and Laurie; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a son, Scott; her parents; a stepfather, Al Hazelwood; and her in-laws, Harry and Fern Holly.
Visiting hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home, 32 W. Winter St., where a service of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Kevin Kavanagh as celebrant. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park.
Earl W. Wiley
Earl W. Wiley, 81, of Delaware, died Sunday afternoon (Jan. 8, 2006) at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Huntington, W. Va., on April 16, 1924, the son of Charles and Jessie (Atkins) Wiley. When he was 15, he worked for three years as a merchant marine for the U.S. Navy. He married his loving wife of 62 years, Georgia Mae Wiley, on May 25, 1943, who preceded him in death on Nov. 29, 2005. Together they lived in Columbus before moving to Delaware in 1982. For most of his life, he worked as a self-employed painter and his customers believed he was the “best.” He had a passion for restoring old cars, and he cherished every car he ever owned. He will also be remembered for his love for his family, always putting his wife and children first. He was truly loved and will be sadly missed by his entire family.
He is survived by three daughters, Jean Heightland of Delaware, Fran (Chuck) Orum of Lewis Center and Judi (Lou) Peck of Idaho; seven grandchildren, Jake Wiley and his partner Chris Hoffman of Columbus, Bob (Kim) Summerfield of Delaware, Kenny (Tammie) Griffith of Marengo, Karlene Allen and Tony Bennett of Delaware, Kelly (Ron) Janson of North Carolina, Anna (Devon) Heats of Utah and Tim (Mary) Wiley of Whitehall; 19 great-grandchildren, Ashley Summerfield, Stacy, Amy and John Arndt, Sean and Rebecca Allen, and Brittany Bennett all of Delaware, Kip, Kaleb and Kristina Griffith of Marengo, Dawson, Luke, Marissa and Morgan Jansen of North Carolina, “Little” William Heats of Utah, and Alyssa, Christian, Noah, and Luke Wiley of Whitehall a brother, Bill (Millie) Wiley of Columbus; a sister, Betty Banta of Columbus; a nephew, Brian Wiley; and a niece, Brenda Banta.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert William Wiley; a granddaughter, Melissa Wiley; and two sisters, Dorothy Parmen and Louise Gillum.
The family will greet friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., where funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, with Pastor Margaret Hawk officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.

Nancy Lou Grooms
Nancy Lou Grooms, 50, of Ashley, died Sunday morning (Jan. 22, 2006) at Grady Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 8, 1955 to Frank and Rose Mary (Leienberger) Bobb. She had been a longtime resident of Marysville prior to moving to Ashley five years ago. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Dale; daughter, Tony (Kevin) Huff of Marysville; four sons, Jerry (Zondre Hickel) Bailey of Fredricktown, Robert (Angie) Bailey of Galion, Bradley Grooms and Jonathan Grooms, both of Delaware; 13 grandchildren; her mother, Rose Mary Bobb of Columbus; a brother, Frank Bobb of Columbus; and three sisters, Sharon Waldie of Columbus, Brenda Fraley of Centerburg and Bobbie Traxler of Toledo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Bobb.
Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Rodman Bennett Brown Funeral Home, 92 N. Sandusky St., where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m., with Pastor Bob Simpson of the Huber Ridge Christian Union Church of Westerville officiating.

Alma Leah Edwards
Alma Leah Edwards, 75, of Marysville and formerly of Johnstown, died Saturday (Feb. 4, 2006) at Doctors West Hospital, Columbus.
She was born Sept. 4, 1930 to the late Robert and Bertha (Cunuette) Poe in Lawrence County, Ky.
She is survived by her daughters, Joyce (John) Stutler of Marengo, Karen (Bryan) Parker of Centerburg and Deborah (Charles) Meade of Johnstown; a brother, William Poe of Marysville; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Edwards; a son, Bob Edwards; and a brother, Paul Poe.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday with a memorial service to follow at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, with Pastor Wes Baker officiating.
Richard W. Heimlich
Richard Willis Heimlich, 71, of Ashley, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family Friday (Feb. 3, 2006).
He was born May 4, 1934 in Melbourne, Fla., to the late Robert F. and Ruby E. (Ellis) Heimlich. He was a 1952 graduate of Cardington High School and was a member of God’s Church Worldwide. He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked as a plumber-pipe fitter in the construction industry.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara (Wiles); four children, Lisa Kimble of Ashley, Teri Hartwell of Mount Gilead, and Richard Heimlich and Steve Heimlich, both of Cardington; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Barbara Grimm of Cardington and Betty Zeigler of Reynoldsburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James; and a daughter, Patricia.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Oxford Township Community Center, 5125 Shoemaker Road, Ashley. A party celebrating his life will follow.

Dorothy B. Riggle
Dorothy B. Riggle, 89, of Delaware and formerly of Ashley, died Sunday evening at the Sarah Moore Home.
She was born June 29, 1916 in West Middleton, Pa., to Joseph Ray Brown and Emma V. (Miller) Brown.
She is survived by two sons, David Riggle of Delaware and Karl (Genene) Riggle of Zanesville; a daughter, Dorothy Mercer of New Braunfels, Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew, on April 27, 1995.
There will be no services. Burial will be at a later date.

Peggy J. (Mullins) Ratliff Smith
Peggy J. (Mullins) Ratliff Smith, 70, of Sunbury, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006 at her home.
She was born on Dec. 26, 1935 in Pikeville, Ky., to the late Carl and Georgie (Stacy) Mullins. She was a resident of Edison from 1952 to 1985, and Mount Gilead from 1985 until 1991, when she moved to Sunbury. She retired in 1991 from ITT, where she had worked as an assembler and in the stock department. After retirement she worked at Sunbury Nursing Home. Most proud of her husband and family, she was a mother, grandmother and friend to everyone. Always befriending the less fortunate, she ministered and was a care provider to those in need. A member of True Bible Church, she collected angles, dolls and bells. She was a fan and supporter of Sunbury Little League Baseball and was always in attendance at her grandchildren’s activities.
She is survived by her second husband of 15 years, James R. “J.R.” Smith, whom she married Jan. 5, 1991 in Pikeville, Ky.; children, Barry (Penny) Ratliff of Marion, Pam (Rocky) Hawk of Mount Gilead, Judy (Thomas) Richardson of Mount Gilead, Connie Gandee of Fulton, Jerry (Eve) Ratliff of Mount Gilead, Deborah (James) Smith of Hilliard and James R. (Deborah) Smith Jr. of Marengo; 20 grandchildren, Joshua and Nikki Harrison, Michelle and Mandy Hawk, Mindy (Jason) Urbano, Nathan (fiancee Samantha) Richardson, Lacie (Shawn) Shipman, Joshua and Kyle Gandee, Cameron and Shelby Ratliff, Anthony (Terrie) and Cami (Tony) Netton, and Shannon, Chrissie, Cory (DeAnna), Rick Jr., Travis, Shilo, Richard and Cameron Smith; three great-grandchildren, Grace Shipman, Corbin Smith and Anthony Schuster; brothers, Roger (Sue) Mullins of Lansing, Mich., Danny (Ann) Mullins of Elkhorn City, Ky., and Ronnie Mullins of Laurel, Md.; mother-in-law, Myrtle Smith of Sunbury; and her labrador retriever, Tess.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 27 years, Raymond Ratliff on June 30, 1979; sons, Terry Ratliff in 1957 and Ricky Smith in 1996; her son-in-law, John Gandee in 1995; and three brothers, Jimmy, Paul and Kenneth Mullins.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with her husband, Pastor J.R. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park near Lexington.

James E. ‘Rick’ Martin
James E. ‘Rick’ Martin, 43, of Marengo, died unexpectedly Monday evening (Feb. 13, 2006) at his home. Arrangements will be announced by DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.
William G. ‘Bill’ Brokaw
William G. “Bill” Brokaw, 80, of Delaware, died early Sunday (Feb. 26, 2006) at Grady Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 11, 1926 in Delaware to Paul H. and Mary (Christian) Brokaw. He’d been a lifelong Delaware resident and retired from RANCO Inc. as foreman of the stock room. He served in World War II in the Army and was a squad leader in the 19th Infantry Regiment and the 24th Infantry Division in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. He’s been a member of the Eastside Mission since 1950, holding many church offices. He enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia; son, Michael (Jill) of Cardington; daughter, Tammy Brokaw of Delaware; four grandchildren, Dawn Brokaw, Bobby Woods, Beth (Scott) Scribner and Brandon (Amanda Evans) Brokaw; five great-grandchildren, Robert Woods III, Dante Crumb and Josh, Briana, and Makayla Woods; two brothers, Paul of Delaware and Sam (Beverly) of Canal Winchester; and two sisters, Eula (Harold) Swint of Cardington and Molly Wilson of Delaware.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Willa Tenner and Mary Wells; and a brother, John.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Eastside Mission, where services will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Donnie Akers officiating. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Eastside Mission Building Fund, 32 Joy Ave., Delaware, OH 43015. Interment with military honors provided by the Delaware County Veterans Association will be at Fairview Memorial Park.
