Mildred Marie Ortman George
Mildred Marie Ortman George, 82, of Marysville, formerly of Westerville, died Tuesday (May 3, 2005) at her home.
She was born February 2, 1923 to the late William and Anna Marie Beaver Ortman. She was a Gahanna Lincoln High School graduate and attended Otterbein College.
She is survived by her husband, Frederick J. George; long-time Delaware resident Donna Garrett; grandchildren, Joseph (Wendi) Garrett, Krystal Garrett McIntyre, Candace Garrett of Delaware and Michael Garrett of Marysville; Susan (Walter) White of Santa Cruz, Calif., Cindy (Bud) Smith of Ashland, Stephanie (Michael) Diaz of Marysville, Kathy (Joe) Nichols of Marysville, and Kelly Thibault of Hermitage, Tenn.; two sons, Kevin George of Columbus, Ga., and Robert George of Columbus; 11 other grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a brother, Donald (Marie) Ortman of Newark.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a brother, Kenneth Ortman.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at Underwood Funeral Home in Marysville, followed by funeral services at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Union County Loving Care Hospice.
Brittany Ann Motter
Brittany Ann Motter, 14, of Delaware, died peacefully Monday (May 2, 2005) at her residence in her parents’ arms following a courageous battle against brain cancer.
She was born in Lancaster on July 4, 1990 to William Jr. and Sherry (Huber) Motter. She was a very bright student, taking honors courses as a member of Olentangy High School’s Class of 2008. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Delaware resident since 1994. She enjoyed riding horses at The Horse Center, especially Chip, Cheerio, Darcy and Rocket. She also enjoyed playing piano, “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Harry Potter” movies, and loved animals, especially her cat, Snuggles, and her dog, Blaze. She was a wonderful sister to her siblings and had many good friends.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister and brother, Megan and Wesley Motter at home; grandparents, Mary Motter and Carl and Helen Huber, all of Lancaster; uncles, James (Maureen) Motter of Bexley, Dave (Molly) Huber of Lancaster, and Joe (Marie) Huber of Lebanon; aunts, Melissa (Pat) Estep of Lancaster, Katy (Jeff) Zimmerman of Groveport, Carla Kemmerer of Lancaster, Barb (Ron) Walls of North Carolina, and Cindy (Art) Vela of Texas; best friends, Abbey Querns and Karen Watts; and numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, William Motter Sr. in 1971; her cousin Jamey Kemmerer in 2004, and pet dog, Sampson in 2000.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., where prayer services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 82 E. William St., Delaware, with Father David Sizemore and Father Kevin Kavanagh co-celebrants. Graveside committal services will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Mary Cemetery in Lancaster.

Emmitt Lesley Wallace III
Emmitt Lesley Wallace III, 60, of Cardington, died Sunday morning (May 1, 2005) at the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born Jan. 30, 1945 in Columbus to Emmitt Lesley Wallace II and Virginia (Moore) Wallace. He was formerly employed by RDS Trucking Inc., and was a member of the AMVETS Post 104 in Delaware. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
He is survived by four sons, Steve (Tania) Wallace of Columubs, Emmitt L. (Peggy) Wallace IV of Philadelphia, Kevin Wallace of Columbus, and Dustin Wallace of Galena; one daughter, Kem (Mark) Leonard of Galena; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Kay (Jimmy) Lynn of Delaware; and his companion, Sylvia Laverne Dye of Cardington.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Wallace; and a sister, Joann Hill.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Rodman Bennett Brown Funeral Home, 92 N. Sandusky St. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Walnut View Cemetery.

Margaret R. Sheets, 84, of Marengo, died early Tuesday morning (May 3, 2005) at Grady Memorial Hospital. James D. 'Jim' Lord, 70, of Sunbury passed away peacefully Monday evening (May 9, 2005) at his home. Bernard F. Daily
Bernard F. Daily, 68, of Sunbury, died Tuesday morning (May 24, 2005) at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born in Sunbury on Nov. 13, 1936 to the late Frank E. and Nora V. (Poe) Daily. He was a graduate of Big Walnut High School, a retired farmer and Big Walnut School bus driver, an Army reservist, a member of Central Ohio Hot Jazz Society, and volunteer for Senior Nutrition Program and former Kingston Township trustee. He enjoyed crafts, his Model A Ford, camping, water gardening and most especially the joy of his life, his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diana (Flory) Daily, whom he married Nov. 1, 1959; two sons, Jeffrey (Jodell) Daily of Sunbury and Mark (Bonnie) Daily of Cardington; a daughter, Tamara Daily (Ian Crawford) of Canton; six grandchildren, one sister, Virginia Morman of Westminster, Co.; a special cousin, Lula Mae Sheets of Sunbury; and six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Estil Daily.

Elvin E. Ott
Elvin E. Ott, 78, of Delaware, died peacefully Tuesday (May 24, 2005) at his residence.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from East High School and retired from Nippert Electric.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lillian, two daughters, Sharon Robles and Sue (Mike) Roesch; three sisters, Martha McCoy, Carol Treadway and Linda Eastep; two brothers, Norman (Pat) Ott and Billy Ott; a sister-in-law, Donna Chadwick; and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon and Lucille Ott; brothers Jimmy, Roger and Ronnie; and a sister, Dorothy.

Helen L. Courter
Helen L. Courter, 91, of Delaware, died early Monday morning (Aug. 22, 2005) at Wintersong Village Nursing Home.
She was born March 28, 1914 in Delaware to John Thomas Eagon and Isadora (Calliflower) Eagon. She was a homemaker, a nurse’s aide at Grady Memorial Hospital for 17 years, and a lifetime Delaware resident. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Eastern Star 504, and Rebekah Lodge 198, and the Senior Citizens of Delaware County.
She is survived by two daughters, Merilyn (Harry Joe) Sipes and Beverly (Tom) O’Brien, all of Delaware; three grandchildren, Kelly (Teri) O’Brien of Columbus, Erik Sipes of Delaware, and Robin (Michael) Welsh of Michigan; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Allison O’Brien, Lance Sipes, and Grace and Sarah Welsh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Merrill, in 1994; four brothers, Gilbert Eagon, Herald Eagon, Arlie Eagon, and an infant brother, Roy Eagon; and a sister, Myrtle Smith.

Sandusky St., where Eastern Star services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church, 385 E. Cynthia A. Rodman
Cynthia A. Rodman, 62, of Marion, died Tuesday morning (Aug. 23, 2005) at her home.
She was born Sept. 20, 1942 in Marion to Vanye and Dorothy (Springer) Galladay. She was a member of Eastern Star and a graduate of Otterbein College, where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta. She taught for Columbus city schools for 20 years.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald J. Rodman of Marion; a son, Stephen (Catherine) Hill of Delaware; a stepdaughter, Lisa (James) Krist of Sunbury; two stepsons, Steven C. Rodman of Houston, and Gregory S. Rodman of Columbus; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Boyd Funeral Home, 122 W. Columbia St., Marion, with the Rev. Rozelle Sattler officiating. Eastern Star services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Marion Cemetery.
