Harry Dailey
Harry A. Dailey, 54, of Marengo, died unexpectedly Monday evening (Nov. 2, 1998) at Mansfield General Hospital.
He was born in Marion on June 30, 1944, to the late Harry A. Dailey and Ethel (Blair) Dailey, who survives in Marengo. Mr. Dailey was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and a former truck driver for PreFab Transit, Ill.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary L. (Hornbeck) Dailey; two brothers, Charles and Carroll, of Marengo; and a sister, Doris Knight of Marengo.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Marengo, where funeral services were held with the Rev. Brian Mosher officiating. Burial, with military services, was in Marengo Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
Nora Daily
Nora V. Daily, 94, of Sunbury, died on Thursday (Sept. 21, 2000) at the Sunbury Nursing Home.
Born on Oct. 4, 1905, in Louisa, Ky., to the late Isaac and Sarah (Ward) Poe, she was a member of Sunbury United Methodist Church and Kingston Grange No. 2489. She was active in the former Old Blue Church, teaching Sunday school, and in the Ladies Aid Society. She loved to crochet and knit and won a state and national award from the Grange for an afghan she made.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Daily, on Dec. 15, 1991; three brothers, James, Jay, and Luther; and two sisters, Lula Gartin and Lora Hubbell.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Bernard and Diana Daily of Sunbury; a daughter, Virginia Morman of Westminister, Colo.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and nieces, among them a special niece, Lula Mae Sheets of Sunbury.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where services were held with the Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Interment followed in Cheshire Cemetery.

Elizabeth Damm
Elizabeth "Liz" Damm, 62, of Galena, died on Sunday (September 30, 2001) at her home.
Arrangements are in the care of and will be announced later by Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville.
Marian Darby
Marian L. (Pflaum) Darby, formerly of Upper Arlington and Columbus, died Friday (Dec. 3, 1999) in her Galena home.
A graduate of Ohio State University, she was a member of Alpha Phi sorority, Beta Gamma Sigma honorary fraternity and Delta Gamma Epsilon education fraternity. She was a member of Galena United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph A. Pflaum and Mary A. Pflaum.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Ralph L. Darby; a daughter, Margaret L. French, Galena; a son, Ralph R. Darby, Dresher, Pa.; and three grandchildren..
Private funeral services were held at Greenlawn Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. Stacy Evans officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Grady, Grady Memorial Hospital, 561 W. Central Ave., Delaware 43015.
Arrangements were handled by Schoedinger North Chapel, Columbus.
Mary Darby
Mary E. Darby, 52, Delaware, died Sunday evening (July 15, 2001) at Kobacker House, Columbus.
She was born on March 2, 1949, in Yolynd, West Virginia, to Chester and Jennie (Standifur) Collins of Sunbury. Originally from the Sunbury area, she moved back to Delaware County 14 years ago from Mount Gilead.
Darby was a cosmetologist and operated the former Just-A-Mere Beauty Shop, Marengo. A member of First Alliance Church, Columbus, she was active in Urban Connections Ministry and enjoyed her grandchildren, flowers, gardening, camping, and fishing.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marcilla, and a brother, Samuel.
Surviving are her husband of 15 years, Lee Darby; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shawn and Michael Matthews of Marengo and Kelli and Richard Morris of Delaware; a step-son, Scot Darby of Powell; three grandchildren, Kirstin and Alex Matthews and Makenzie Morris; her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Patti Collins of Sunbury; and a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Sam Blevins of Delaware.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, with a private family interment held in Cheshire Cemetery. Memorial services were held at First Alliance Church, 3750 West Henderson Road, Columbus, with Pastor David Noel officiating.

Richard E. Darst
Richard E. Darst, 88, died Saturday (Oct. 16, 1999) at Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware.
Mr. Darst was a resident of Sunbury Nursing Home and a former resident of Marion Square Senior Citizen Center. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran who served in Japan. He was retired from Timken Roller Bearing and attended Condit Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Ralph G. Fuller, Sunbury, Barbara "Bobby" and Donald Miller and Elizabeth "Tootie" and Richard Clipner, all of Grove City; two brothers, Robert Darst, Columbus, and Harry Darst, Buckeye Lake; one sister, Emma Bruce of Florida; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours were at Graumlich & Son Funeral Home, Columbus. Funeral services were held with the Rev. Carol Weiss officiating. Burial was in Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Max Dart
Max Frederick Dart, 81, of Ashley, died unexpectedly Sunday evening (May 17, 1998) at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
He was born June 15, 1916 in Morrow County to Frederick Augustus Dart and Barbara Ellen (Renz) Dart.
Mr. Dart retired after 40 years as a machinist with H.P.M. Corp., Mount Gilead, and also was a farmer. He was a member of Ashley United Methodist Church, a charter and 70-year member of Ashley Grange, and a member of Ashley Farm Bureau Council.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Lois (Martin) Dart; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Dixie of Ashley; a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Bruce Curran of Millersport; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Dart; a brother; and two half-sisters.
Funeral services were held at Ashley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mary Lou Gompf officiating. Interment was at Ashley Union Cemetery.

Donald Daugherty
Donald David Daugherty Sr., 81, Sunbury, died Sunday (March 5, 2000) at his home.
He was born Feb. 16, 1919, in Wheelersburg, to the late John A. and Amanda B. (Sartin) Daugherty.
He moved to the Sunbury area in 1977 from Columbus. He was a retired decorator, painter and master wallpaperer with I.B. Painters and a member of Allied Trades Local No. 1275 of Columbus. He operated Daugherty Decorators with his brother, Elec.
He was a member of St. John Neumann Church and was a former member of the Shamrock Club. He sang with the "Ohio River Valley Boys" duo in the late 1940's. Don loved the outdoors, animals and birds, and he also enjoyed fishing and raising beagles.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dorothy (Heck); a daughter, Donna Jean Wolcoski, Whitehall; three sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel D. and JoAnn Ryder Daugherty, Denver, Richard J. and Chong S. Choe Daugherty, Galena, and Donald D. and Virginia Trumbull Daugherty Jr., Westerville; two sisters Dorothy Lewis, Laurenceville, Ga., and Eula Porter, Tucson; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Clarence, John, Russell, Charles and Ellsworth "Elec;"and sisters, Thelma, Eleanore Thompson and Eloise Daugherty.
Calling hours were held with prayer services following at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. John Neumann Church, Sunbury, with the Rev. David E. Gwinner officiating. Interment was at Kingwood Memorial Park.

Evelyn C. Porter Davis
Evelyn C. Porter Davis, 87, of Marengo, died unexpectedly on Monday (June 22, 1998) at Morrow Manor, Chesterville.
She was boron on Jan. 4, 1911, in Saskatchiwan, Canada, to the late Ernest L. and Sarah E. (Ross) Joy. She was a graduate of Sparta High School Class of 1930. In 1974, she retired after working as a cook for Morrow County Hospital for 15 years. She was a member of the Morrow County Hospital Rainbow Twig and a 50-year member of Marengo United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 40 years, Lowell S. Porter, who died on March 7, 1974; her second husband of 15 years, W.G. Davis, who died in 1996; six brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are two daughters and son-in-law, Phyllis P. and Les Marcum of Marengo and Reata and Robert Jackson of Haverhill, Mass.; a son and daughter-in-law, Adrian J. and Ann Porter of Marengo; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; three step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wanda Robinson of Mt. Vernon.
Visitation was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Marengo. Funeral services were at the Marengo United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Olinger officiating. Interment will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.

Irene P. Davis
Irene P. Davis, 90, Marengo, died Friday (Oct. 22, 1999) at Morrow County Hospital.
She was born on Jan. 21, 1904, in Centerburg to the late Robert and Daisy (Roy) Stopher.
She was a homemaker and had lived most of her life in the Marengo area. Davis was a member of Marengo United Methodist Church and Marengo American Legion Post 710.
She is survived by a son, Donald R. Davis, Marengo; a brother, William Stopher, Centerburg; a sister, Alice Sherbourne, Sunbury; and a grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Theodore, Ralph and Thomas; and two sisters, Ina Frosh and Luella Bronson.
Memorial services will be held at the Marengo American Legion Post, 1549 County Road.
Arrangements were handled by DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Marengo.
