Talmadge Johnson
Talmadge H. Johnson, 86, Delaware, died Monday evening (March 25, 2002) at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born on December 15, 1915, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, to the late Mason and Elizabeth Johnson. He was a tow operator for 25 years with Nestle Company, Sunbury. A Delaware resident since 1939, he attended the former Christian Faith Temple on Moore Street.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Elizabeth Phillips; five sisters; and a brother.
Surviving are his wife of almost 18 years, Violet (Baker) Johnson; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Jim Hodges of Johnson City, Texas; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was at Bennett Brown Rodman Funeral Home, Delaware, where funeral services were held with the Reverend Norman Rice officiating. Burial was in Greenmound Cemetery.
Aaron Michael Johnston
Aaron Michael Johnston, 18, of Galena died on Sunday (Aug. 16, 1998) at Grant Medical Center.
He was a 1998 graduate of Northside Christian School and a landscaper.
Surviving are his father, Michael E. Johnston of Galena, and his mother, Cheryl (O'Neill) Ginn of Delaware; a half-sister, Stacey Vail of Delaware; two nephews, Brandon and Kyle; maternal grandparents, John and Roxie O'Neill of Delaware; paternal grandmother, Cora Pfister of Richwood; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald Johnston.
Visitation was held at Moreland Funeral Home in Westerville. Funeral services were held at Genoa Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Carl officiating. Interment was in Cheshire Cemetery.

Richard F. Jolly
Richard F. Jolly, 66, Morrow County Road 25, Cardington, died Tuesday, Dec. 26 at his home. He was born Feb. 7, 1934 in Mason County, West Virginia to Andrew and Virginia (Stewart) Jolly. His father is deceased, but his mother survives in Pataskala.
Jolly worked as a machinist at Ranco Controls for 34 years before his retirement. He attended Enterprise Baptist Church.
He married the former Lucy E. Hardy on March 8, 1974 in Pearisburg. Virginia. Other survivors include daughters Deborah Shonk of Ashley and Missy Gladden of Marion; step-daughters Sharon Edwards of Cardington and Diane Pallos of Millersport; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-laws John and Polly Mould of Lebanon, Ill., Marjorie and Dick Debolt of Pataskala, Alice and Dennis Long of Mount Vernon, Helen and Louie Noble of Mount Vernon, Christine Fannin of Whitehall, Mary and Dan Leigh of Dover; and brother and sister-in-law Orum and Marjorie Jolly of Columbus.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, one daughter Joanne Jolly and a step-son Alan E. Gallion.
Visitation was at the Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington where services were held. Burial was in Sunbury Memorial Park with the Reverend Craig Sparks officiating.

Virginia Jolly
Virginia Jolly, 93, formerly of Centerburg, died at the home of her daughter in Pataskala Sunday (October 6, 2002) evening.
She was born on July 11, 1909 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Burgess and Mary L. Cremeans Stewart. A homemaker and resident of Franklin, Delaware, Knox and Licking counties for over 50 years, Virginia enjoyed taking care of her family, cooking and canning.
Jolly is survived by a son, Orum (Marjorie) Jolly of Columbus; six daughters, Christine Fannin of Whitehall, Helen (Dale) Noble of Mount Vernon, Mary (Dan) Lehigh of Dover, Alice (Dennis) Long of Mount Vernon, Marjorie (Dick) DeBolt of Pataskala and Pauline (John) Mould of Lebanon, Illinois; 41 grandchildren; by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and by a brother, Russell Stewart of Huntington, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Andrew Jolly, in 1978; by four children, Richard, Wilbur, Pansy Warren and Freda Bailey; by three brothers, Burgess, Colonel and Everett Stewart; by a sister, Carrie Moore; and by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Calling hours were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where funeral services were held with the Reverend William Myers officiating.
Interment followed in Sunbury Memorial Park.

Arnetta J. Jones
Arnetta J. Jones, 48, Sunbury, died Tuesday (April 2, 2002) at her residence.
She was born in Delaware on May 4, 1953 to Harry and Mary (Duncan) Hubbard of Sunbury. Arnetta was a Customer Service Representative for the Anthem Life Insurance Company. She was a member of the Sunbury Nazarene Church.
Arnetta is survived by her husband of 30 years, Larry Jones, whom she married February 19, 1972, in Galena; by two daughters, Nicole (Lynn) Cummings of Columbus and Michelle Jones of Roundhead; a step-daughter, Melissa (Bret) Smith of Washington Court House; three grandchildren, Gabriel Snyder, Chase Smith and William Smith; four brothers, Audry (Edna) Hubbard of Sunbury, Phillip (Anna) Hubbard of Sunbury, Carl (Lisa) Hubbard of Marion, and Thomas (Marla) Hubbard of Sunbury; two sisters, Alice (Leroy) Sheets of Galena and Tina (Doug) Stringer of Westerville; her mother-in-law, Virginia Jones of Delaware; a brother-in-law, Rick (Brenda) Jones of Center Village; three sisters-in-law, Bonita (Allen) Baldwin of Delaware, Lisa (Leon) Lawcock of Delaware and Sharon (Mac) Yarbrough of Washington; a former son-in-law, Rod Snyder of Delaware; and by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury. Funeral services will be held in the Sunbury Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jack Davis officiating. Interment followed in the Galena Cemetery.

David Jones
David R. Jones, Marengo, formerly of Mount Vernon, died Thursday (July 22, 1999) at his residence.
He was born March 1, 1921. in London, Ky., to James M. and Charlotta J. (Gabbert) Jones.
He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran and was a retired electroplater for Shallmar of Mount Vernon. He was a member of the Ohio Cremation and Memorial Society.
He is survived by daughters Diane McElhatten, Marengo, and Tina VadeBrake, Mount Vernon; a brother, Brock of Idaho; two sisters, Rose Mary and Ruth, both of Ohio; five children in Wisconsin; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There were no services. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Morrow County.
Grace Jones
Grace N. Jones, 90, Delaware, died Tuesday (Nov. 9, 1999) at Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware.
She was a graduate of Ostrander High School and attended Bliss College and Ohio State University. Mrs. Jones farmed and was a switchboard operator at Grady. She was an active member of Stratford St. Paul's United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school and vacation Bible school. She was a long time Grady volunteer, putting in more than 3,000 hours of service. She was also involved in DAR and 4-H.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Robert Barcus, Sunbury; a son and daughter-in-law, Roland and Patricia Jones, Waveland, Miss.; a brother and sister-in-law, Sidney and Dorothy Newhouse, St. Claire Shore, Mich.; a sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Lewis King, Delaware; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Jane Newhouse, New Jersey, and Jan Braund, Wooster; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; and two brothers, Russell and Alfred Newhouse.
Calling hours and funeral services were at Robinson Funeral Home, Delaware. Burial was at Newhouse Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Stratford St. Paul's UMC. 1701 Columbus Pike, Delaware.
Madge V. Jones
Madge V. Jones, 93, of Sunbury, died Wednesday (March 4, 1998) at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.
She was born Dec. 9, 1904 in Concord, Ohio, to the late Andrew Gilbert Collins and Elizabeth Beatrice (Rhys) Collins.
Mrs. Jones was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Jack Esmail, of Wilmington, and Norma and Sam Starbuck of Whitefish Falls; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Marty Jones of Sunbury; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Frank Jones.
Private services were scheduled at the family's convenience. Arrangements were in care of Crouse-Kauber Funeral Home, Johnstown.

Ruth Jones
Ruth G. Jones, 97, Sunbury, died Thursday (April 12, 2001) at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.
She was born in Delaware County on March 18, 1904, to the late Eli and Estella (Pittman) Pittman. A graduate of Brown High School, Kilbourne, she was a member of Rural Chapel Methodist Church and loved to crochet afghans for her children and grandchildren and to play euchre.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harold E. and Mildred of Monticello, Ky., and James W. Jones Jr. of Golden, Colo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty G. and Ted Forman of Sunbury; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Jones Sr.; two brothers, Aaron and Paul Pittman; and a sister, Verena Stephenson.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where services was held with the Rev. Carol Weiss officiating. Interment followed in Berkshire Cemetery.
Thomas W. Jones
Thomas W. Jones, 80, Sunbury, died Saturday (December 7, 2002) at the Kobacker House, Columbus.
He was a 60-year member and a 32nd degree Mason of the Roby Lodge 534 F & AM in Monroeville, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Hiawatha Sportsman Club. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and retired from New Holland Machinery Co. He was owner of Uncle Tom's Antiques in Naubinway, Michigan, and Cherry Street Antiques in Sunbury.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Judith Jones; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Sharen and Mark Hays, Patty and Roger Bowling, Jennifer and Tim Weihe, Lauren and Mark Richards, Leslie and Frank Granich, and Carrie Smith; two brothers, Robert Jones and Homer Jones and his wife, Mary; a sister-in-law, Janet Fox; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Phillip and Carol Lowman and Jeff and LeeAnne Lowman; three granddaughters, Jennifer Bagent and her husband, Doug, Julie Dement and her husband, Chris, and Chelsea Bowling; five grandsons, Brian Bowling, John Hays, Ben and Riley Richards and Jim Granich; five great-grandchildren, Samantha and Katie Bagent, Nathan and Chloe Dement and Haiden Bowling; many nieces and nephews, including Bill Jones and his wife, Carol; and his former wife, Bev Jones.
Visitation was at Sunbury United Methodist Church.
