Dale L. Owens, 56, Delaware, died early Monday (Nov. 23, 1998) at his residence following an extended illness.
Owens was born on Oct. 14, 1942, in Highland Park, Ill. to Roy and Byrdie (Takala) Owens, who survive in Sunbury. He moved to Delaware in 1995 from Columbus and had lived in Sanford, Fla. for 17 years prior to that. He had worked as a cook in various restaurants. Owens was also an auto mechanic and worked in the lawncare business. He enjoyed building scale models of ships and cars.
In addition to his parents he is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Ron Evans of Galena, and a brother, Don Owens of Sunbury.
A memorial service was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury.

Marian Paisley
Marian L. Paisley, 79, Galena, died Sunday (May 23, 1999).
She was born in Canton and was valedictorian of her high school graduating class. She earned her bachelor's degree from Ohio State Univeristy and a law degree from Franklin University.
Ms. Paisley was a certified public accountant and a practicing attorney for 40 years in Franklin and Delaware counties. Beyond her formal education, she pursued a lifelong thirst for learning.
She served the Village of Galena as a member of council and legal advisor. Most of all she will be remebered as a humanitarian who enriched the lives of many with her indomitable spirit, especially the Whittington family and in particular Kim Gillie Krier, her best friend.
She was proceded in death by her sisters, Hilda, Helen, Grace and Janice and brother, Eugene.
Visiting hours were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. A funeral Mass was held tat St. John Neumann Church with the Rev. James Walter officiating. Interment was at Galena Cemetery.

Emma J. Page
Emma J. Page, 88, Columbus and formerly of Sunbury, died Wednesday (January 23, 2002) morning at Lutheran Village in Columbus.
She was born to the late Charles and Nancy (Fugate) Branham on January 21, 1914 in Winchester, Kentucky. Emma was a homemaker and a mother to her family. She was a member of The Church of God at Berwick and enjoyed quilting, baking, ceramics and collecting dolls.
Emma is survived by four sons, Lee (Jane Ann) Page Jr. of Palm Springs, California, Richard (Cathy) Page of Denver, Colorado, Charles (Julianna) Page of Columbus and Wesley (Annie) Page of Columbus; one daughter, Carolyn (Paul) Biederwell of Orlando, Florida; 11 grandchildren; and by 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Lee Page Sr.; two brothers, John and Ray Branham; and by two sisters, Grace Lamp and Virginia Hensley.
Visitation was at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where services were held with Pastor Robert W. Cope officiating.
Interment followed in the Trenton Cemetery.

Alzheimer's disease may have stolen her memories, but it did not take her smile and zest for life. She touched many lives and will be remembered fondly by all who met her.
Thelma Pancake
Thelma L. Pancake, 69, Sunbury, died unexpectedly Saturday (March 3, 2001) at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.
Born on March 29, 1931, in Ironton to the late John E. and Evelyn Christian Bayliss, she moved to the Sunbury area five years ago from Ironton. A retired waitress, she enjoyed cooking, canning and NASCAR races.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Edward Pancake, who died in 1991; and a brother, John Bayliss.
Surviving are her daughter, Beverly Turner of Galena; a son, Michael Pancake of Waverly; three grandchildren, Christopher Fisher and his fiancee Jennifer Abraham, Beverly Pancake and Michael E. Pancake Jr.; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Francis Moeller of Ironton.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where funeral services were held with the Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Interment was in Blendon Central Cemetery.
Sam Park
Sam Park, 65, Westerville, died Tuesday, November 27, 2001. He was the owner of Sudden Sam's Goodyear Stores. Park was a longtime member of the National Hot Rod Association.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; a daughter, Connie Sanders of Westerville; a granddaughter, Christine; his mother-in-law, Viola (Wayne) Drumheller of Delaware; three sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Richards and Ruth (Bud) St. Amant of Columbus, and Karen (Ray) Dusenbury of Sunbury; and by cousins, nieces and nephews.
Park was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Helen, and his stepfather, Vic Campbell.
Visitation was at the Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville, where services were held with the Reverend David M. Redding officiating. Interment was in Blendon Central Cemetery.
Lois J. Parks
Lois J. Parks, 71, Ashley, died Saturday morning (November 17, 2001) at the Grady Memorial Hospital emergency room.
She was born in Marietta on June 21, 1930, to the late Louise and Bertha (Kehl) Fulton, and moved to Ashley two years ago after living in Columbus for 47 years. She was a former past president of the VFW Post No. 4157 Ladies Auxiliary, and she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Parks, who passed away on August 1, 1991; five brothers; and three sisters.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Susan Parks of Hilliard and Timothy and Threasa Parks of Columbus; her daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Beecher Crabtree of Newton, West Virginia, Linda and Charles Hui of Landsdale, Pennsylvania, Betty and Ralph McCoy of Grove City, Joanne and Steve Casari of Ashley, and Debra and Thomas Mazzuchi of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joanne and Joseph Lauer and Kathreen McMains.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where services were held). Interment was in Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
Odra Patterson
Odra E. Patterson, 77, Delaware, died Monday afternoon (September 23, 2002) at Mount Carmel West Hospital, Columbus.
She was born on November 22, 1924, in Webbville, Kentucky, to Lonza Webb and Cora (Holbrook) Webb. She retired from Ranco Manufacturing in 1988 after 33 years. She lived most of her life in Delaware.
Patterson is survived by her husband of 55 1/2 years, John Edward "Pat" Patterson; two sons, Glenn Hunter and his longtime companion, Cheryl, of Delaware and Larry J. and Kathy Patterson of Galena; a daughter, Linda Futch, and her longtime companion, Richard, of Montgomery, Alabama; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ronald and Edward Webb of Sunbury and Carl Webb of Olive Green; two sisters, Ora Bolt of Akron and Anna McGlothin of Westerville; a daughter-in-law, Libby Malone of Marion; and by several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were a son, Donald Hunter; two brothers, Dempsey and Gene Webb; and a sister, Herma Bryant.
Visitation was held at Bennett Brown Rodman Funeral Home, Delaware, where funeral services will be held.
Burial followed in Fairview Memorial Park.
E. Elsie Patton
E. Elsie Patton, of Sunbury, died on Wednesday evening (October 16, 2002) at Wintersong Care Center, Delaware.
She was born in Peace Dale, Rhode Island, to the late Benjamin and Annie (Hollings) Davies. A United States Navy veteran of World War II, she had been a former resident of Westerville and moved to the Sunbury area in 1982 from Douglasville, Georgia.
Elsie was a wife and mother to her family, and had been a guardian of Job's Daughters, a former Girl Scout leader, a member of Sunbury Searchlight Club and the Westerville Ladies Bridge Club.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Davies.
Surviving are her loving husband of 58 years, Knox Patton, whom she married on October 14, 1944, in Ottumwa, Iowa; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Gary Crumley of Ocala, Florida, and Jayne and Robert Roblin of Huntingdon, Maryland; three grandchildren and spouses, Todd and Kim Roblin, Jennifer and Shane Julian, and Jason and Michelle Roblin; five great-grandchildren, Julia, Nathan, Austin, Savannah and Rachel; a brother and sister-in-law, Benjamin and Betty Davies of Sanford, North Carolina; and two sisters-in-law, Helen Schupbach and Mary Patterson of Sparta, Illinois.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where services were held with the Reverend Carol Weiss officiating.
Interment was in Sunbury Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Marvin Paxton
The Rev. Marvin M. Paxton Sr., 88, Croton, died Saturday (June 26, 1999) at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.
He was born in Pickaway County on June 7, 1911, to the late Ernest and Myrtle (Anderson) Paxton.
He was a United Methodist minister for 42 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the United Methodist West Ohio Conference and was affiliated with the Minerva Park United Methodist Church. He enjoyed visiting Circleville and recording cassette tapes.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin Jr. and Ruth Paxton, Columbus, and James and Linda Paxton, Sunbury; two daughters and one son-in-law, June A. and William Gatton, Columbus, and Joyce Speer, Newark; and 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Olive (Arledge) Paxton, on May 23, 1981; and three brothers, Raymond, Loren Jr. and Dale.
Calling hours were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Funeral services were held with the Rev. David Hill officiating. Interment was at Dresbach Cemetery, Circleville.

Iris Marie Paykoff
Iris Marie Paykoff, 72, Lewis Center, died Thursday evening (March 7, 2002) at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was born on January 4, 1930, in Condit, to the late Clayton and Annis (Spearman) Spencer. A lifetime Delaware County resident, she was the owner of Paykoff Water Hauling for 52 years and a very active member of Peachblow United Methodist Church and the Lewis Center and Olentangy Area Senior Citizens.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1974.
Surviving are her four sons, Chris A. and DeeDee Paykoff, Daniel and Kim Paykoff, Patrick D. Paykoff and fiancee Debbie McElroy, and Richard Paykoff, all of Lewis Center; a daughter, Georgianna Paykoff of Columbus; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held at Bennett Brown Rodman Funeral Home, Delaware. Funeral services were held at Peachblow United Methodist Church with the Revered Bill Byers and the Reverend Bill Canode officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Memorial Park.
