Douglas Eugene Ball
Douglas Eugene Ball, 69, Sunbury, died Monday (December 24, 2001) at his residence. He was born September 25, 1932 in Lewis Center to Spencer and Ethel (Jackson) Ball.
Mr. Ball was a United States Navy veteran and an employee of Ranco where he was an inspection foreman.
He is survived by one son, Doug (Laura) Ball of Columbus; one grandchild, Spencer Douglas Ball of Columbus; a longtime companion, Twila Williamson of Sunbury; three brothers, Sherman L. (Blanche) Ball Sr. of Lewis Center, Howard (Thelma) Ball of Hilliard and Garnet (Marty) Ball of Columbus; two sisters, Marjorie Strobel of Greenville and Ruth Holcross of Holiday, Florida.
Mr. Ball was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Spencer Ball, and one nephew, Sherman L. Ball Jr.
Visitation was at Bennett Brown Rodman Funeral Home where services were held with the Revered Norman Voltz officiating. Burial was in Africa Cemetery with the Delaware County Veterans Association providing military honors.
Glenn D. Ballinger
Glenn D. Ballinger, 78, Galena, died Wednesday (Aug. 25, 1999) at Mount Carmel Medical Center West, Columbus.
He was born Aug. 20, 1921, in Gas City, Ind., to Ira and Margaret (Nelson) Ballinger. He had lived in the Galena area since 1975.
Mr. Ballinger, a World War II Navy/Coast Guard veteran, retired as general manager for Country Mutual Insurance Co., Sunbury, in 1998. He was a member of Genoa Baptist Church, Big Walnut Morning Lions Club, Masonic Lodge No. 645 F&AM, Gas City, Ind., and Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Betty J. (Griffin) Ballinger; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ric and Debbie, Gahanna, and Alan and Danuta, New Castle; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Jim Rumora,
Galena; a brother and sister-in-law, James Eldon and Helen Ballinger of California; and a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Walter Rumple, Scotsburg, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Dwight, Murval, Gene, Leon and Ernie.
Calling hours were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where Masonic services were also held. Funeral services were at Genoa Baptist Church, with the Revs. L. Wayne Booth and Frank Carl officiating. Burial was at Burnside Cemetery, Genoa Township.

Ronald F. Bandy
Ronald F. Bandy, 66, Sunbury, formerly of Bowling Green, died Monday (August 6, 2001). He was born February 18, 1936 in Dayton.
Bandy was retired from Bowling Green State University where was was an Associate Professor of Art. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University and his Master's Degree from the University of Florida. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by his son, Nick (Tracey) Bandy, and grandson, Jackson Bandy both of Lewis Center.
Friends were received at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Court, Hilliard, Ohio 43026.
William "Bill" I. Barber
William "Bill" I. Barber, 78, Genoa Township, Galena, passed away Saturday (September 8, 2001) at the Village of Westerville.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Helen; two sons, Steve (Linda) of Westerville and Ron (Leann) of Newark; four granddaughters, Vicki (Dan) Boyd of Gahanna, Chris Barber (Bill Beatty, fiancee) of Columbus, and Danielle and Tara Rodgers; a great-granddaughter, Lyndsay Boyd, Gahanna; a sister, Martha Neff of Flint, Michigan; a sister-in-law, Enza Barber of Columbus; and by many nieces and nephews.
Barber was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Richard Barber, and three sisters, Kathryn Abel, Elsie Murdock and Ann Bailey.
He served in the United States Army, South Pacific Theatre, during World War II. He retired from North American Rockwell after 35 years. He retired after 25 years as a Volunteer Fireman with Genoa Township Fire Department.
He was past Chairman of Local 927 retirees and a member of Genoa Baptist Church, American Legion Young Budd Post 171, Genoa Township Seniors and Top of the Hill Seniors of Genoa Baptist Church.
Visitation was held at the Hill Funeral Home, Westerville, where services were held Wednesday with Pastor Wayne Booth officiating. Interment was in Burnside Cemetery.
Leona "Ilean" Barcus
Leona "Ilean" Barcus, 76, Delaware, died on Tuesday, January 14, 2003, at Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware.
She was born on June 20, 1926, in Lewis Center to the late C. Frank and Leona (Van Meter) Price, and moved to Delaware from the Marengo/Sunbury area in 1974. Before retiring, she worked for the Nippert and Liebert companies in Delaware.
A member of several area quilting clubs, she enjoyed quilting and sewing, and had collections of her many interests, which included thimbles, bells, plates, dolls and owls.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loren J. Barcus, who died on July 4, 1972; a sister, Marcella Schnees; a half-sister, Betty Drake; and a half-brother, Bobby Davidson.
Surviving are her sons, Ted Barcus of Delaware and Rick Barcus of Centerburg; a daughter, Judy Corwin of Delaware; her grandchildren, Matthew, Melinda and Jeff; her step-grandson, Joe; great-granddaughter, Katelyn; a brother and sister-in-law, Emmett "Pete" and Helen Price of Delaware; a sister, Nora "Sis" Foor of Delaware; and her nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where funeral services were held with Pastor Wayne Booth officiating.
Interment was in Trenton Cemetery.

Minnie Barr
Minnie Barr, 92, Johnstown, died Tuesday (August 14, 2001) at Morning View Care Center, Condit, following an extended illness.
She was born on May 31, 1909, in Dayton to the late Harry H. and Stella M. (Brown) Henry. Minnie was a homemaker and Delaware County resident for 25 years. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and her family. She was a member of Church of God, Columbus.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Marie; granddaughter, Doreen; and brother, Edward Henry.
Surviving are her daughters, Clara Keeney of Johnstown, Dorothy Robinson of Utica, and Linda Allaby of Johnstown; a son, H. Daniel Barr Jr. of Glenford; 13 grandchildren, Rick, Penny, Cindy, Christina, Donald, Diane, Caleb, Rebekah, Rachael, Lydia, Talena, Sarena and Ralena; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, with graveside services held at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Hilliard, with the Reverend Jerry Barr officiating.
Leslie Lee Bartholow
Leslie Lee Bartholow, 70, of Galena, died Saturday (June 13, 1998).
Born in Columbus on May 6, 1928, he was a 1945 graduate of Mifflin High School and a graduate of Defiance College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II, retired from AT&T in 1987, and was a member of Telephone Pioneers.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Eileen M. (Chrysler) Bartholow; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen Lee and Russell Pong of Carlsbad, Calif.; a son and daughter-in-law, David Leslie and Donna Bartholow of London; four granddaughters, Erin and Andrea Pong, and Heather and Tiffany Bartholow; brothers- and sisters-in-law Betty and Don Meyer and Norman and Janet Matthews; four nieces; and five nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Erin Marie Bartholow; his parents, William and Viola Bartholow; a sister, Marilyn Gay Matthews; and a brother-in-law, Billy Chrysler.
Visitation was held at the Schoedinger-Margarum Chapel in Gahanna, where funeral services were held with the Rev. Paris Blackburn officiating. Interment was in Mifflin Township Cemetery with military honors provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Gahanna Post 4719.
Eileen Ida Baughman
Eileen Ida (nee Neibarger) Baughman, 72, Gahanna, died Sunday (July 29, 2001) at St. Ann's Hospital.
She was a member of Central College Presbyterian Church and was active with the Westerville Senior Citizen Center.
Baughman was preceded in death by her husband, Leland P. Baughman; her parents, Carl W. and Florence M. (Hills) Neibarger; a sister, Jean Wilson; a brother, Richard Neibarger; and by stepsons James and Edward Baughman.
She is survived by two daughters, Cassie Baughman and Joann Ferguson of Columbus; a son, William Ferguson; two stepsons, Dallas and David of the home; a stepdaughter, Betty (Gilbert) Rowden of Missouri; three brothers, John W. Neibarger of Sunbury, George L. Neibarger of Johnstown and Carl W. Neibarger Jr. of Columbus; and a sister, Dorothy Christian of Rockbridge.
Visitation was at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, Gahanna, where services were held with Pastor Roger Neibarger officiating. Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery.

June E. Baughman
June E. Baughman, 60, Marengo, died Sunday (Feb. 27, 2000) at MedCentral Hospital, Mansfield.
She was born in Lexington on Feb. 4, 1940 to the late William J. and Blanche (Foust) Yeager.
She was a 1959 graduate of Lexington High School. A homemaker, she moved from Lexington to Marengo in 19772. She attended Chesterville United Mothidist Church and had previously attended Steam Corners United Methodist Church. June also collected antiques and teddy bears.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Robert Baughman; a daughter, Christina Baughman, Marengo; a sister, Eleanor Freeman, Butler; and a brother, William D. Yeager.
Calling hours were held at DeVore Snyder Funeral Home, Marengo. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home with the Rev. Ron Spore officiating. Burial followed in Marengo Cemetery.
Roxanne Baughman
Roxanne R. Baughman, 41, Cardington, died unexpectedly on Wednesday (May 17, 2000) from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born on Feb. 15, 1959 in Reynosa, Mexico. She was a cashier for Flying J Truck Stop, Sunbury. She helped with Chesterville T-Ball and enjoyed gardening, working outside and caring for her home and family.
She is survived by her fiance Byron Edgecomb of Cardington; sons Brian and Jesse Ingersoll of Marengo and Nicholas Baughman at home; mother Dora (Daniels) McCarter of Marengo and sister Sarah McCarter of Marengo.
