John A. Rich
John A. Rich, 49, Cincinnati and formerly of Sunbury, died Tuesday (Oct. 19, 1999) in Fort Wright, Ky.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1971. He volunteered in Vietnam where he served 13 months as a combat engineer.
He is survived by three children, Wendy, John and Sandy; his father and stepmother, John A. and Nellie Rich Sr.; two sisters, Alice Resta and Emma Llewellyn; one aunt, Ruth Hubbell; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy M. Rich.

Harlan Eugene Ridenour
Harlan Eugene Ridenour, 84, Columbus, died Sunday, October 21, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
A dedicated educator, Harlen taught secondary Vocational Agriculture in Ohio for over 20 years. In 1962, he joined The Ohio State Department of Education where he created and directed the Agricultural Education Curriculum Materials Service at The Ohio State University, until his retirement in 1984.
Harlan was a veteran of World War II and retired as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves.
In his later years, he traveled with his wife Opal and consulted for the State Department of Education and Winrock International Institute in Arkansas.
Harlan graduated in 1935 from Fredericktown High School. He received his B.S. in Agriculture in 1939, his M.S. in 1952 and his Ph.D in 1965 in Vocational Agriculture from The Ohio State University in Columbus.
His memberships included the Ohio State University Alumni Association, Ohio Retired Teachers Association, Agriculture Education Retiree Association, Reserve Officers Association of the United States, and North Broadway United Methodist Church.
Harlan was the son of the late Felicia Spry Ridenour and Harry Franklin Ridenour of Fredericktown. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Opal Ridenour of Columbus; a daughter, Rebecca Bible and husband, David F. Bible, of Galena; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Thomas and husband, Jason Thomas, of Duluth, Minnesota. A loving and devoted extended family, friends and colleagues further survive him.
A Memorial Service, officiated by the Rev. Edwin E. Lewis, was held at North Broadway United Methodist Church, Columbus.
The family received friends at the church following the service.

Dennis Riesen
Dennis A. Riesen of Marengo died Saturday (June 1, 2002) at home of heart trouble.
A stone and brick mason, he loved playing the banjo, was an avid sports fan, collected sports memorabilia and Indian artifacts, and was a great gardener. He was a graduate of Westerville High School and Ohio Technical Institute with a bachelor of arts in electrical engineering.
He was preceded in death by a son, Evan.
Surviving are his sons, Matthew, Justin, and Josh; grandsons, Justin and Josh; his father and wife, Wayne and Carol Riesen of North Carolina; his mother, Jeanne Riesen of Lewis Center; two brothers, Douglas Riesen and Daniel Riesen; three sisters, Durena Holobaugh, Renee Riesen, and Kelly O'Brien; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Riesen; two brothers-in-law, Bill Holobaugh and Todd O'Brien; and his grandmother, Betty Loney.
Visitation was held at Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville, where services were held with Pastor Frank Carl officiating. Interment was in Fairview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Lung Association.
Robert K. Riley
Robert K. Riley, 72, Radford, Virginia, died Tuesday (January 16, 2001) at his resident in Radford.
He was born in Bishop, Virginia, on August, 20, 1928 to the late William E. and Annie G. (Wright) Riley. He was a retired maintenance worker for the Galena Brickyard and a member of the Radford Worship Center.
Riley is survived by his wife Margaret; sons and daughter-in-law Larry Riley and William (Laurie) Riley of Sunbury; a daughter Sherry Riley of Sunbury; step-daughters and sons-in-laws Peggy (Jeff) Sexton of Dublin, Virginia and Annie (Ronnie) Shepheard of Radford, Virginia; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and a sister Mattie Belle Pruett of Tazewell, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Aleen (Sawyers) Riley on August 3, 1982, and a brother, Robert Sawyers.
Visitation was at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Graveside services were held at Sunbury Memorial Park. The Pastor Delmar Sparks officiated.

Carolyn Roach
Carolyn Ann (Sauer) Roach, 63, Westerville, died Friday (July 13, 2001) on the eve of her 45th wedding anniversary at Kobacker House, Columbus, with her family present.
She was a secretary for Big Walnut High School for 16 years, and was valedictorian of the 1955 class of St. Joseph Academy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph W. and Clara Sauer.
Surviving are her loving husband, Ronald M. Roach; her children and spouses, Julie and Robert Buck of Westerville, Greg and Chrissy Roach of Columbus, Kelly and John Sullivan of Marysville, Matthew Roach of Sunbury, and Anthony and Chrissy Roach of Johnstown; 14 1/2 grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Richard and Rose Sauer of West Jefferson, North Carolina, Joseph Sauer of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Lawrence and Barb Sauer of Kernersville, North Carolina; sisters-in-law Patricia Sauer and Patricia Cramer; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held at Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville. A funeral mass was held at St. Paul Catholic Church, Westerville, with a rosary said.

Thomas T. "Tom" Robbins
Thomas T. "Tom" Robbins, 60, a one-year resident of Marysville, formerly of Sunbury, died Tuesday (January 8, 2002) evening as the result of an automobile accident near Marysville.
Robbins was employed with Dublin Schools as a supervisor for the past six-and-one-half years in the Maintenance/HVAC Department and formerly worked with the Kobacker Company of Reynoldsburg for 12 years, PPG in Delaware for 10 years and owned and operated his own body shop, Robbins & Sons, for over 20 years.
He was a very capable handyman and was certified with the State of Ohio as a licensed electrical contractor. He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking and took pride in the two homes he built in Sunbury and Marysville.
Robbins was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of Moose Lodge #1427, Worthington, since 1992.
He was considered the backbone of his family and will be remembered for always being available for advice. He especially enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Erie and spending time with his family.
Robbins was born December 6, 1941 in Glen Dale, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father and his father-in-law, Carl Rogers. Tom's dog, a miniature Dachshund named Gretta, was in the car with him Tuesday evening and also died in the accident by Tom's side.
A devoted husband and family man, Tom is survived by his wife of nearly 36 years, Sherry Rogers Robbins, to whom he was married on April 23, 1966 in Columbus; three sons, Tim (Vera) Robbins of Grove City, Chris (Kelly) Robbins of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania and Tom Robbins Jr. and his fiance, Shannon Hammill of Westerville; a daughter, Jennifer (Dennis) Graham of Marysville; his mother and step-father, Betty (Whitlatch) and Richard Rickrode of Moundsville, West Virginia; six grandchildren, Eddie, Valerie, Timmy Jr., Randy, Shawn and Kristin Robbins; a brother, Richard (Norma) Rickrode Jr. of Moundsville, West Virginia; a sister, Linda (Neil) Soeder of Greensboro, North Carolina; his mother-in-law, Geraldine Milliman of Grove City; a sister-in-law, Nancy (Jose) Ramirez of Pennbroke Pines, Florida; two brothers-in-law, Craig (Debbie) Rogers of Lancaster and Danny (Patty) Milliman of Mechanicsburg; several nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
Visitation was at Mannasmith-Hale Funeral Home, Marysville where service were held with the Reverend Thomas Hackett officiating. Interment was in Oakdale Cemetery.

Helen V. Roberts
Helen V. Roberts, 80, Ashley, died Friday (Jan. 8, 1999) at Grady Memorial Hospital.
She was born on June 20, 1918, in Mason County, W.Va., to the late Willliam and Katherine (Jefferson) Hesson. She was a homemaker and moved to Delaware County 60 years ago from West Virginia. She was a member of Christian Life Church of Delaware.
Mrs. Roberts is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Irene and Jack Allen, Ashley, and Charlotte and Charlie Conklin, Ashley; one son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Elnora Roberts, Croton; two sisters, Lillian Norton, Florida, and Wilma Blake, Mason City, W.Va.; two daughters-in-law, Margaret Roberts, Sunbury, and Leonia Roberts, Silver Spring, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Hubert E. Roberts, on Feb. 2, 1997. They were married in Charleston, W.Va., on March 30, 1935. Two sons, James Roberts in 1998 and Don Roberts in 1995; one grandson, Jerry McNichols; two sisters, Katie Pope and Margaret Cackler; and three brothers Tom, Dick and Earl Hesson all preceded her in death.
Calling hours were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Delaware. Funeral services were held with the Rev. Mike Wilson officiating. Burial was in Green Mound Cemetery.

Erma Robson
Erma L. Robson, 74, Marengo, died Saturday (May 6, 2000) at her residence.
She was born in Marengo on May 12, 1925, to the late Alvin and Myrta (Bailey) Windsor.
She was a member of Marengo United Methodist Church, Audubon Society and Seniors on Center in Mount Gilead. She was a seamstress and enjoyed quilting and sewing. She had also worked as a realtor for B. Fryman Realty, Delaware.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Connie and Max and Ruth, all of Marengo; a brother, Ralph Windsor, Powell; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edward H. Robson on July 5, 1994; and a son, Merrill Robson in 1964.
Calling hours were held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Marengo. Funeral services were held with the Rev. Michael Olinger officiating. Interment followed in Marengo Cemetery.

Michael Allen Roddy
Michael Allen Roddy, 42, passed away on January 17, 2003, in Franklin, Pennsylvania, due to complications related to cancer.
A 1979 graduate of Big Walnut High School, Michael went on to graduate from the Ohio State University in 1983. After college, Michael became an air traffic controller in Korea for the U.S. Army where he was honorably discharged.
Michael is survived by his wife of 18 years, Joan, and his four children, Michael, Rose, Elizabeth and Kate. Michael is also survived by his father and mother, Patrick and Shirley Roddy of Galena, as well as his six brothers and sisters, Patrick Roddy, Teresa Elmore, Kathleen Kinslow, Michelle Kaiser, Christopher Roddy and Heather Trevethan.
A funeral Mass was held at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Oil City, Pennsylvania.
Iva Elnora Rodgers
Iva Elnora Rodgers, 100 years of age, Sunbury, formerly of Columbiana, Ohio, died Wednesday (March 27, 2002) at Manor Care of Westerville.
She was a member of the Sunbury United Methodist Church.
Iva was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest O. Rodgers, and her daughter, Ruth Ann Willis.
She is survived by two sons, Village Administrator Lyall (Joan) Rodgers of Sunbury and Ernest (Virginia) Rodgers of Westerville; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and by two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation and funeral services, with Pastor Brian Smith officiating, were at the Hill Funeral Home, Westerville.
A graveside service was held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, North Lima, Ohio.
