Ruth Jean Roshon
Ruth Jean Roshon, 85, Westerville, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001 at the Village at Westerville Nursing Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy G. Roshon, a son, Roy F. "Rock" Roshon; and a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Lawrence Karn.
Ruth is survived by her three children, Vicki Dolby of Pickerington, Richard A. (Janet) Roshon of Westerville and Mark C. Roshon of Boynton Beach, Florida; nine grandchildren, Brad Sweeney, Sheri Sweeney Linnabary, Steven Sweeney, John Dolby, Jeffrey Dolby, Troy Roshon, Ryan Roshon, Teri Roshon and Randy Roshon; eight great-grandchildren, Drew Linnabary, Erinn Linnabary, Cole Linnabary, Nate Linnabary, Caitlin Sweeney, Shane Sweeney, Gabrielle Dolby and Jordon Roshon; and by a niece, Lynnette Kirkpatrick.
Visitation was at Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville where services were held with Pastor John Zimmerman officiating. Interment was in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden.
Donald Ross
Donald R. Ross, 72, Galena, died Wednesday (Jan. 19, 2000) at Delaware Court Health Care Center after an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 3, 1927, in Galena, to Clara (Chambers) Ross and William B. Ross.
A farmer, he lived his entire life on the farm on which he was born. He was a real estate agent, an Ohio weight inspector and was an Agricultural Stabilization Committee (ASC) office field representative. Mr. Ross was a member of the Orange Road Evangelical Friends Church, where he served as an elder. He was a member of the Gideons Delaware Camp, Salvation Army Advisory Board, Senior Services for Independent Living Board of Directors and a former president of the Alum Valley Association. He served as a Republican Central Committeeman for Berlin Township.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Geraldine (Nutter); a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Debbie, Galena; a daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Donnie Hearn, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two sisters, Jessie Weese, Brewster, Mass., and Alta Crowl, Olive Green; two brothers, Dale and Olin Ross, Columbus; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leland, Russell and Afton; and a sister, Mildred Rae.
Calling hours were held at Bennett Brown Rodman Funeral Home, Delaware. Funeral services were at Orange Road Evangelical Friends Church with the Rev. Chris Jackson officiating. Burial was in Cheshire Cemetery.

Gladys Ross
Gladys L. Ross, 88, formerly of Sunbury, died Friday (Dec. 3, 1999) at Canterbury Villa, Centerburg.
She was born in Condit on Aug. 16, 1911, to the late Thomas E. and Lottie (McFarland) Shoemaker.
She was a homemaker and the owner/operator of the Village Tavern, Sunbury, and the Clock Grill, Galena.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Weldon and Betty Ross, Sunbury; a daughter, Twila Williamson of Sunbury; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William O. Ross; two grandchildren, Susan and John; two brothers, Mike and Paul Shoemaker; and a sister, Rosalie Shoemaker.
Visitation and services were held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, with the Rev. Carol Weiss officiating. Burial followed in Trenton Cemetery.
N. Gladys Ross
N. Gladys Ross, 83, died Sunday (March12, 2000) at Sunbury Nursing Home.
She was born May 19, 1916, in Blaine, Ky., to the late Green and Thursa Cordle.
Gladys moved to Sunbury from the Centerburg/Mount Vernon area in 1958. A homemaker, she attended Vans Valley Community Church and Genoa Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, flowers, gardening, latch hook embroidery, shopping, going out to eat and, most importantly, her grandchildren and family.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Russell Fry and Sarah and Gordon Ulery, all of Sunbury, and Janet and the Rev. Wayne Booth, Westerville; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Christina Ross, Sunbury; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Ross, Sunbury; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac J. Ross in 1977; a son, Donald Ross in 1997; two brothers, Bradley and Arnold Cordle; and three sisters, Lean Rice, Molly Fraizer and Goldie Stuart.
Calling hours were held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Funeral services were held at Genoa Baptist Church with Wayne Booth, pastor, officiating. Burial followed at Eastview Cemetery, Centerburg.

Mildred F. Ross
Mildred F. Ross, age 91, of Columbus, died Monday (Feb. 2, 1998).
She was retired from Timken Roller Bearing, and a member of Maplegrove Methodist Church.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law James L. "Jimmy" and Gene Ross, of Columbus; granddaughters, and their husbands, Cheryle and Hap Hoerath of Galena, Dee and Rick Pegram of North Carolina, and Michele and Bill Hanly of Westerville; great-grandchildren Annette, Jamie, and Jackie Hoerath, Ryan and Derick Pegram, and Shane Hanly; sisters Mary Satterfield of Columbus and Gladys Cross of Sunbury; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside serices and burial were at Sunbury Memorial Park. Arrangements are in care of Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville.
James A. "Jim" Roush
James A. "Jim" Roush, 68, formerly of Prospect, died Thursday (August 1, 2002) at Wintersong Village Care Center following an extended illness.
Visitation was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Delaware, where funeral services were held with Pastor Randy Runyon officiating. Burial followed in Galena Cemetery.

Mary Lou Rumery
Mary Lou Rumery, 73, Columbus and formerly of Galena, died Wednesday (Jan. 5, 2000) at Grant Medical Center. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, George and Sharron Rumery, Pataskala, and Ronald Rumery, Bremen, Germany; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and David Sowers, Anderson, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews in Washington, Oregon and British Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Foster E. Rumery.
Calling hours were held at Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville. Funeral services were held with the Rev. Stacy Evans officiating. Interment was in Blendon Central Cemetery.
Loretta Russell
Loretta L. Russell, 63, of Marengo, died Tuesday (June 5, 2001) at Kobacher House, Columbus.
Born on March 21, 1938, in Roanoke, Virginia, to the late Roy D. Sr. and Pauline Reynolds Hall Lynch, she was retired from the former Flexible
Corp., Delaware. A member of Fargo Wesleyan Church, she enjoyed birds, puzzles, bowling, yard sales and caring for her family.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Whitley, and one sister.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Beryl E. Russell Sr.; a son and daughter-in-law, Beryl E. and Cindy Russell Jr. of Whitehall; three daughters and a son-in-law, Kimberly J. and Kelley Grear, Melissa J. Russell and companion James Seymour, and Loretta L. Whitley, all of Marengo; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; six sisters; and one brother.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Marengo, where funeral services were held with the Reverend Robert Clevenger officiating. Interment was in Marengo Cemetery.

Frank Ryder
Frank Ryder, 87, Milan, died Sunday (April 25, 1999) at Firelands Hospital, Sandusky, following an extended illness.
He was born July 12, 1911, in West Virginia and had been a Milan resident since the early 1940s. He had been employed in maintenance for Growers Chemical Co., Milan, retiring in 1967. He also owned and operated the Gulf service station at exit 7 of the Ohio Turnpike (Route 250) and was an accomplished carpenter, having built homes in the Sandusky/Milan /Norwalk area.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Landis, Westerville; and five grandchildren.
All services were private. Arrangements were handled by Kubach-Smith Funeral Home, Norwalk.

Mike Sabados
Mike F. Sabados, 74, of Sunbury died Monday morning (Nov. 2, 1998) at St. Ann's Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 28, 1924 in Columbus to the late Mike and Mary (Bakai) Sabados. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he moved to Galena in 1953 and to Sunbury in 1964. He retired in 1984 as a manufacturing engineer for Rockwell after 32 years. He was a Little League coach and member of the Snake Hunters Conservation Club and Galena Community Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jewell (Rice); a daughter and son-in-law, Mona and Steve Lord of Galena; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Judy Sabados of Johnstown; grandchildren Annie and Zoe Lord and Jessica and Heather Sabados; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Kay Sabados of Rouge River, Ore.; two sisters, Julia Schwartz of Reynoldsburg and Ann Barnhill of Pataskala; a sister-in-law, Shirley Sabados of Tucson, Ariz.; two uncles and an aunt Steve Szabados of Columbus, Paul and Kathy Szabados of Las Vegas, Nev.; his mother-in-law, Bertha Rice of Sunbury; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jim, a sister Mary, and a granddaughter, Alyx Lord.
Visitation was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury, where funeral services will be held with the Rev. Carol Weiss officiating. Interment was in Trenton Cemetery.
