Eugene Veltre
Eugene R. "Gino" Veltre, 67, Mayor of Centerburg, died Thursday afternoon (Sept. 27, 2001) at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.
He was born in Cleveland on Jan. 1, 1934, to the late Michael and Rose Vacca Veltre. He had been the Mayor of Centerburg for six years, having retired from the U.S. Air Force MSGT, Rickenbacker AFB, in 1978 after serving 26 years as an aeromedical tech. He worked for 15 years in the VFW state office, as a former food and beverage manager for Groveport Country Club, and at the VFW Post on Taylor Station Road. He moved to Centerburg from Groveport in 1990. Gino was a lifetime member and former manager of AmVets Post No. 59, and a member of the Sunbury Eagles, Whitehall VFW, and K of C in Columbus.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank, in 1999.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Brenda Broderick Veltre; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Norman Veltre of Tuscon, Ariz., and Mark and Laura Lee Veltre of Columbus; a daughter, Laura Rose Veltre of Centerburg; three grandchildren, Eugene, Chelcee, and Heather; and two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Edward and JoAnn Veltre of Brooklyn, Ron and Carol Veltre of Cleveland, and Kathryn Veltre of Parma Heights.
Visitation was held with services following at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, with Pastor Fred Albrecht officiating. Additional calling hours were held in Parma and Cleveland, with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland.
Memorial contributions may be mae to Centerburg Inter Church Social Service, 40 N. Clayton St., Centerburg; AmVets Post No. 59; or the American Cancer Society.

Kenneth H. Vermillion
Kenneth H. Vermillion, 82, of Centerburg died on Friday (April 3, 1998) at his home.
A retired farmer, he was a member of the Centerburg Church of Christ, Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion Post No. 460 in Centerburg. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and fought in World War II.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie, and a grandson, Charlie.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel M. Vermillion; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kenneth D. Vermillion of Indiana and Jerry L. and Vickie Vermillion of Kansas; seven grandchildren, Jacqueline Braglin, Kenney E. Vermillion, Jenny Addis, Cheryl Hindsley, Jeff Vermillion, Joseph Vermillion, and Kimberly Vermillion; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Vermillion of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Centerburg Church of Christ with evangelist Fred Albrecht officiating. Arrangements were made by the Johnson-Melick Moreland Funeral Home in Centerburg. Interment was in Sunbury Memorial Park.

Veryl R. "Richie" Vest
Veryl R. "Richie" Vest, 73, Marengo, died Thursday (March 18, 1999) at Morrow County Hospital .
He was born April 4, 1925, in Orchardville, Ill., to the late George and Clara (Richardson) Vest. He retired in 1983 after 18 years service with the Ohio Department of Transportation in Delaware. He was also a former co-owner of the Independent Oil Well Cementing Co. in Fairfield, Ill., working in the Morrow County area in the early 1960's. He was a charter member of the Highland Lions Club. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Fairfield, Ill.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wilma J. (Talbert) Vest, whom he married in Fairfield, Ill., on Oct. 18, 1944; one son, Ronald, Columbus; one daughter, Janet S. Cushman, Marengo; one grandson, Christopher S. Cushman, Cincinnati; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Doc and Gertrude, Salem, Ill., Kenneth, Mount View, Okla., and Harold and Evelyn, Lawton, Okla.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Neva and Rick Huxman, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Glenda Kuenstler, Olney, Ill., and Ila and Jack Frost, Tulsa, Okla.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Loyal; and one sister, Sybil Longren.
Visitation was at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Funeral services were held with the Rev. Michael Olinger officiating. Burial was in Marengo Cemetery.

Joseph Viderman Sr.
Joseph H. Viderman Sr., 70, Marengo, died early Friday morning (May 25, 2001) in the emergency room of Morrow County Hospital.
He was born on February 4, 1931, in Youngstown to the late Joseph and Mary (Remis) Viderman. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he moved to Marengo 24 years ago from Columbus. He retired in 1966 after working 41 years as a semi-truck driver for Cardinal Foods, Columbus. He attended Abundant Life Fellowship, Mount Gilead. Viderman was a member of the American Legion Post No. 710 who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Norma Jean Detzel Viderman; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry and Glenda Viderman of Bellville and Joseph H. Viderman Jr. of Marengo; a stepdaughter and spouse, Sonja and Bill Justice of Pomeroy; two stepsons and spouses, William and Chris Barbour Jr. of New York and Robert and Sandy Barbour of Minerva; a granddaughter, Stacy; nine step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; four brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Jean, Arnold and Artie, George and Karen of Wellsburg, W.Va., and Lawrence and Barbara of Georgetown, Florida; and a sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Dennis McQuillen of Collaris, West Virginia.
Visitation was held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Marengo, where services were held with Pastor William Justice officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by American Legion Post No. 710, was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Chesterville.

Ildreth Vigar
Ildreth M. Vigar, 87, of Delaware, died Thursday morning (June 11, 1998) at Grady Memorial Hospital.
She was born on June 23, 1910, in Woodsfield to Bessie (Hoffmeister) and Clem Stegner. She was a longtime Delaware resident.
Mrs. Vigar was a member of Bible Students of Columbus Church.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Julie and Myron and Sarah, all of Delaware; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Myron Stegner of Columbus; and a sister, Helen Siegfried of Centerburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, who died in 1977, and a brother, Kenneth Stegner.
Visitation and funeral services were held at Bennett-Brown Funeral Home. A private committal service was held at Fairview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Ohio Lung Association, 4627 Executive Drive, Columbus 43220 or to the American Heart Association, 100 Cottswold Drive, Delaware 43015.

Robert C. Vincent
Robert C. Vincent, 52, Powell, died Wednesday (Nov. 22) at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
A manager of Cord Camera at Kenny Road in Upper Arlington, Vincent was a 1966 graduate of Westerville High School and attended Otterbein College.
Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald H. and Virginia Vincent. He is survived by sisters Pam (Jeff) Bullock of Canton and Patti (Ron) Oakes of Florissant, Mo.; nieces Carey Bullock, Alesha Hagemeyer and Adrienne Oakes; and by several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Visitation was at the Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville, where services were held with Pastor Ken Mulpas officiating. Interment was in Pioneer Cemetery.
Friends may contribute to Habitat for Humanity, 3529 Cleveland Avenue, Columbus 43123.

Martha M. Volk
Martha M. Volk, 88, Sunbury died Monday (March 8, 1999) at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.
She was born on Oct. 17, 1910, to the late Ralph and Elsie (Volk) Brown.
A homemaker, she moved to the Sunbury area 20 years ago from Trenton, Mich. She was a member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and the outdoors.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Lloyd E. Volk; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rowenna and John Runyon, Columbus, Rosalind and Lester Mohler, Sunbury, and Rita Volk, Denver; one brother, Jim Brown, Tiro; and five grandchildren and sever great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Buskirk and Evelyn Gledhill.
Calling hours were held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Funeral services were held at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sunbury, with the Rev. Robert Riggs officiating. Interment was at Trenton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Delaware County Red Cross.

Jack C. Vore
Jack C. Vore, 70, or Marengo, died at his home Thursday evening (April 9, 1998) following an eight-month illness.
He was born Jan. 27, 1928, in South Zanesville to the late Charles Vore and Sally (Pryor) Six. He moved back to Marengo two years ago, after living in Bexley for 30 years, and most recently in Zanesville for 10 years.
Mr. Vore was a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from Rockwell International in 1985 after 35 years as an aircraft engineer.
He was a member of Marengo United Methodist Church, Eagles Aerie No. 2107 of McConnelsville, and the Rockwell Management Club.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Ann (Harry), whom he married on July 1, 1950, in Oakdale; daughters and sons-in-law Cynthia and Brad Leo of Marengo, Dianna and Philip Ulrey of Derby, Kan., and Pamela and James Walker of Marengo; eight grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; step-brother Nick Six of Zanesville; brother and sister-in-law Gary W. and Ann Harry of Stockport; and sister-in-law Martha Harry of Millfield.
He was preceded in death by brother-in-law William E. Harry.
Services were at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, the Rev. Michael Olinger officiating. Interment was in Marengo Cemetery.

Sue Ann Vore
Sue Ann Vore, 67, Marengo, died Thursday morning (Sept. 23, 1999) at the Village of Westerville.
She was born March 8, 1932, in Jacksonville, to Edward and Madge (Deal) Harry. She had lived 10 years in Zanesville and 30 years in Bexley before moving to Marengo in 1996.
Mrs. Vore was a member of Marengo United Methodist Church and Highland High School Band Boosters and PTO. She had been a Girl Scout leader in Columbus for 20 years.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Brad Leo and Pamela and James Walker, all Marengo, and Dianne and Phillip Ulery, Derby, Kan.; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Gary W. and Ann Harry, Stockport, and Martha Harry, Milfield; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Her husband of 47 years, Jack C. Vore, died April 9, 1998. She also was preceded in death by a brother, William E. Harry.
Calling hours were held at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Funeral services were held with the Rev. Michael Olinger officiating. Burial was at Marengo Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Marengo UMC Building Fund.

Florence Votaw
Florence Joanne Votaw, 66, Sunbury, died Friday evening (July 9, 1999) at Riverside Methodist Hospitals, Columbus.
She was born Dec. 17, 1932, in Union County, to Robert Morrow and Rosa (Forieder) Morrow. She was a 33-year Sunbury-area resident.
Mrs. Votaw was retired from U.S. Store/Market Place, where she was a deli clerk. She was a member of Scioto Valley Christian Union Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandy Votaw, Sunbury, and Cindy James, Richwood; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Susan, Ashley; a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Rickey Joe and Norma Votaw, Ashley; three brothers, Joseph William Strohl and David Morrow, both Delaware, and Thomas Morrow, Richwood; one sister, Roberta Miller, Galena; and four grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Her husband, James Votaw, died in 1973. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Raymond Votaw.
Calling hours were at Bennett Brown Rodman Funeral Home, Delaware where funeral services were held. Burial was in Green Mound Cememtery, Kilbourne.
