Sue E. Craig, 52, Mount Vernon and recently of Centerburg, passed away Monday January 22, 2007, at The Ohio State Medical Center in Columbus.
Friends may call today (Thursday, January 25, 2007) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will be held Friday (January 26, 2007) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Carl Hankins.
Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.

Russell W. “Russ” Sheets
Russell W. “Russ” Sheets, 45, Delaware, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 8, 2007, from injuries sustained in an airplane accident near West Mansfield in Logan County.
He was born on February 4, 1962, in Iowa City, Iowa. A graduate of Britt High School in Iowa, he attended Kansas State University and The Ohio State University. He formerly owned and operated Salvation Aviation and Accountants on Call.
Russ was a devoted brother in Christ, a member of Vineyard Church of Delaware County, EAA Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter No. 9, IAC International Acrobatic Club Chapter No. 34 and a member of NRA
A true aviator, he began flying at the age of 16 and won the International Aerobatic Championship in 1995. He also enjoyed skydiving, hiking, biking and camping with his family. A farm boy at heart, talented in numerous ways, he enjoyed tinkering in his shop, helping people and knew more than a little about everything.
He was a mentor to many in small business, never knew a stranger and found those who needed his help. Russ participated in the activities of his children by serving with the Boy Scouts and PTO of Buckeye Valley North in Radnor.
A servant of his church and Lord, he was devoted to his family and community.
Russell is survived by his wife, Linda (VanLoon), of 22 years, whom he met at the Delaware Airport and they were married in 1985; a son, Marshall Everett; a daughter, Reagan Nicole; his father and step-mother, Elton (Jean) Sheets of Britt, Iowa; brothers, Reed of Redwing, Minnesota, Ronald of South Africa and Randall (Una) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; his grandfather, August (Norma) Santos of Chicago; his mother-in-law, Louise VanLoon of Delaware; a close cousin, Teresa and Bill Decker; as well as by a multitude of friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores (Santos) Sheets.
Calling hours were held Sunday (March 11, 2007) at the Vineyard Church, Sunbury. A service celebrating the life of Russell Sheets was held Monday (March 12, 2007) at the Vineyard Church with Pastor Dennis Stranges officiating.
Interment followed in Cheshire Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury.

Marianne C. Ball
Marianne C. Ball, 76, Delaware, died Friday, March 9, 2007, at Highbanks Care Center in Worthington.
Calling hours were held Monday (March 12, 2007) at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where services were held Tuesday (March 13, 2007) with Minister Hugh Snepp officiating.
Interment followed in Eastview Cemetery.
Michele E. “Michel” Ball
Michele E. “Michel” Ball, 64, Centerburg, died surrounded by her family Tuesday afternoon, June 19, 2007, at the home of her daughter in Centerburg.
She was born October 2, 1942 in Columbus, she was a graduate of Linden McKinley High School in 1961. Following graduation, she was employed as a secretary for Nationwide Insurance and Cooper-Bessemer. She had also worked at Nestle’s in Sunbury and most recently as a bank teller with the First Knox National Bank in Centerburg.
A member of the Centerburg Church of Christ, she was a former member of the Manila Chapter O.E.S. and volunteer with the Arthritis Foundation. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, writing poetry, swimming and spending time on the beaches of Hilton Head Island.
Unselfish, strong and always positive, she will be remembered for her friendly and outgoing personality, but, more importantly, for her loving ways. She was a truly unique individual who touched many lives with her boundless compassion. Completely devoted to her family, she provided a guiding light for them through good times and bad.
Her quick wit and generosity were recognized by all that knew her. She was her family’s inspiration and their strength and she will be missed more than words can express.
Michele is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ron Ball; a daughter, Missy (Dan) Small of Centerburg; one son, Ron (Michelle) Ball of Galloway; four grandchildren, Danielle Elaine Small, Breana Brooke Ball, Blane Michael Ball and Zachary Pasco; her mother, Bette L. Griffith of Centerburg; one sister, Patti (Stephen) Zonars of Dublin; and one nephew, Frank Zonars.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward T. Griffith.
Calling hours were held Friday (June 22, 2007) at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury and one hour prior to the services (Saturday, June 23, 2007) at Centerburg Church of Christ, with Fred Albrecht and Pastor Roger Crego officiating.
Interment followed in Eastview Cemetery.
Doris Condit
Doris Condit, 80, Delaware, died Tuesday morning, June 19, 2007, at Sarah Moore Home in Delaware.
She was born on July 24, 1926, in Provencal, Louisiana, to the late William F. and Susie I. (Montgomery) Leach. She was raised in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and graduated from the local high school and business trade school. She met her husband, Milo, while he was in Navy flight training at Northwestern University in Natchitoches and they were married May 25, 1946 in Centerburg. They spent 60 years together farming, raising their three children and serving their community.
In 1977, a farm accident caused a severe head injury and the prognosis of not being able to walk, talk, use her right side or care for herself again. She proved them wrong and was rehabilitated to be able to drive, shop and care for her household and was an inspiration to many.
She was active in mothers’ clubs, PTA, 4-H advisor, Cub Scouts, Little League, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Buckeye Valley Boosters and Flying Farmers. She was rarely in the limelight, but always serving and helping others. If there was a need or a request, Doris was always there. She was working when her family went to bed and working when they awoke. She was “Mom” to many and loved by all who knew her. Doris made work fun and could be found on both sides of a prank.
Doris is survived by sons Mike (Joyce) of Delaware and Bob (Carla) of Kansas; a daughter, Judy (James) Steinke of Delaware; six grandchildren, Joshua Condit, Bryan (Amber) Condit, Leslie and Laurie Condit, and Shannon and James Rey Steinke; a great granddaughter, Audrey Condit; a brother-in-law, Earl (Julia) Condit of Delaware; and by a sister-in-law, Verna Mae Belcher of Sparta.
She was preceded by her husband of 60 years, Milo J. Condit, on March 25, 2007; a brother, Billy H. Leach; and by three sisters, Exie I. McCaffrey, Vecile M. Leggett and Mildred O. Edison.
Calling hours were held Sunday (June 24, 2007) at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury, where services were held Monday (June 25, 2007) with Pastor Keith Daniels officiating.
Interment followed in Trenton Cemetery.

Edward Kinnaman Jr.
Edward Kinnaman Jr., 61, Centerburg died Tuesday evening, June 19, 2007, at Whispering Hills Care Center in Mount Vernon.
Edward was born on August 19, 1945, in Columbus to the late Edward and Vivian (Jones) Kinnaman Sr. and attended Linden McKinley High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict.
Through a blind date, he met and married his devoted wife of 39 years, Geraldine “Geri” (Ensey), whom he married January 13, 1968, in Columbus.
He had worked for Northland Dodge, Marte Pontiac and retired from the sales department of Jack Maxton Chevrolet in 2000. Honest in his work, his customers became trusted friends for life. He loved Jesus Christ and attended the Sunbury Christian Church.
While funny, he was helpful and will be remembered for his ornery nature. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, motorcycling, tractors and cutting the grass. He held a passion for horses and traveling. A fan of the Cincinnati Reds, he faithfully attended opening day with his son.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two daughters, Shannan Crabbe of Sunbury and Heather (Jeff) Peters of Powell; a son, Edward “Eddie” Kinnaman III of Columbus; four grandchildren, Shantel, Ashley, Karleigh Crabbe and Jeffrey Peters; three brothers, Frank of Westerville, Donald (Letha) of Columbus and Thomas Kinnaman of Delaware; two sisters, Joyce Ann (Harold) Barbour of Granville and Shirley (Bill) Hobbs of Centerburg; and by numerous extended family members.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert, and a sister, Helen Zeise.
Visitation was held Friday (June 22, 2007) at the Sunbury Christian Church, Sunbury, where services were held Saturday (June 23, 2007) with Mike Bratten, Minister officiating.
Interment followed in Sunbury Memorial Park.

Vivian E. Zink Compton
Vivian E. Zink Compton, 90, Delaware, died early Monday, June 25, 2007, at Grady Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Born on September 3, 1916, in Greensburg, Ohio, to the late Roy and Alma (Kasserman) LeBerth, she was a salutatorian and graduate of Greensburg High School in 1934. She attended the Akron Actual Business College; worked as a secretary for the Hoover Company; a bookkeeper for Zink’s Dairy in Massillon until 1956 and served as director of volunteers for Fremont Memorial Hospital from 1960 until 1971. She moved to Sunbury in 1972 and served as secretary to the administrator for Big Walnut Schools; for 10 years she also assisted with Weight Watchers in Delaware; retired in 1984 as a bookkeeper with American Insurance Administrators. In 1989 she became a resident of Delaware and had been a resident of the Willowbrook community for the past three years.
In Delaware she was a member and deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in Delaware, the Presbees’ past corresponding secretary of the Sarah Moore Board, member of the Cosmopolitan Club and recently elected treasurer of RAC at Willowbrook Christian Village. She was a member of the Jackson PTA, Mother Singers in Massillon and an honorary member of the Home Garden Club in Fremont.
Vivian possessed a zest for life and enjoyed a curiosity about the world. Quick witted, she was kind hearted and touched the lives of family and friends through her sense of humor and elegant penmanship. She enjoyed playing both the piano and organ, travel, competitive bridge and looking to the next adventure.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 42 years, Haldon R. Zink, in 1980, and by her second husband of 17 years, Stanford Compton, on June 4, 2007. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia F. Smith and Lillian K. Shriver; and by a step-son, Donald P. Compton.
Vivian is survived by a son, Alan E. (Louise) Zink of Worthington; a daughter, Carol A. (Louis) Holben of West Jefferson; five grandchildren, Jeffery (Ann) Holben, Gregory (Helen) Holben, Lori (Rob) King, Kathy (Sean) Russell and Dan (Stephanie) Zink; three step-grandchildren, Jeffrey L. (Dana) Compton, Brian D. (Stefani) Compton, Chad E. (Elizabeth) Compton and their mother, Elinda Gastaldo of Columbus; seven great-grandchildren, Michael, Benjamin, Christopher, Mary, Elizabeth, Spencer and Brendan; four step-great-grandchildren, Cassie, Britney, Blake and Jacob; a step-daughter-in-law, Mary Compton of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews, including Janice Bolin, Bob (Nada) Smith, Paul (Ginny) Shriver and Christy Shriver; brother and sister-in-laws. Gary (Luella) Zink, Richard Zink, Emily (Larry) Linn and Sandy Paul; and by dear friends, Dick and Phyllis DeVore.

Committal services followed at Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens in North Canton.

Shirley A. Zigler, 72, Sunbury, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.

Dr. Dorothy M. Stannard, 85, formerly of Delaware, died Sunday afternoon, June 24, 2007, at Bennington Glen in Marengo.
Friends may call today, Thursday, June 28, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Bennington Glen, 825 Ohio 61, Marengo. Memorial services will follow at 2 p.m. at Bennington Glen.

Robert M. Hetterscheidt
Robert M. Hetterscheidt, 77, Sunbury, died Saturday evening August 18, 2007, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
He was born on July 24, 1930, in Columbus to the late Harry L. and Amelia (Figlestahler) Hetterscheidt. Robert was a faithful member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and the Men’s Club of the church. He was a Korean Conflict U.S. Army Veteran, member of the Columbus Chippers, of which he was president for two terms and vice president for one. He was also a Cub Scout Leader, assistant Boy Scout Master, baseball coach and an amateur magician.
Robert was a family man and especially enjoyed all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whether it was just spending time with them or going to their sporting events. He also enjoyed woodcarving, magic, computers, mowing and riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, Bernadine “Bunny” (Garretson) Hetterscheidt, whom he married September 13, 1952, in Columbus; sons Bob (Bonnie) of Galena, Bryan (Delilah) of Fredericktown and Bradley (Soozie) of Delaware; daughters Brenda (Michael) Froehlich of Perry, Georgia, Becky (Eric) Blase of Sunbury and Barb (Bryan) Grabow of Mount Vernon; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brothers Harry of Arizona, Dick (Peggy) of Hilliard and Bill (Jeanine) of Columbus; sister Mary Rose (Joe) Luckhaupt of Cincinnati; and by a sister-in-law, Judy Hetterscheidt of Canal Winchester.
He was preceded by a brother, David.
Calling hours and a prayer service were held Tuesday (August 21, 2007) at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday (August 22, 2007) at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Sunbury, with celebrant Father David Sizemore.
Military honors will be provided at the church by the Delaware County Veterans Association.
Burial will take place at a later date.
The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the St. John Neumann Men’s Club, 275 Carter Corner Road, Sunbury 43074
