Thomas Joseph Evans
Thomas Joseph Evans, 79, of Delaware, died Friday morning (Jan. 30, 2004) at his residence.
He was born Jan. 16, 1925, in Delaware to Marion and Mary Evans. He was a farmer in charge of the parts department at the Larcom and Mitchell Co. He was a member and volunteer of the Hyatts United Methodist Church and was active with Liberty Township where he helped in the building of Hyatts Park.
He is survived by a nephew, Kenneth and his wife Toni Evans of Delaware and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and close friends Frank Dewitt, Charlie Hale and Mike Hope.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Rutherford) Evans, and two brothers, Robert and Mike Evans.
Friends may call at Bennett Brown Rodman Funeral Home, Delaware, Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Burial services will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Hyatts United Methodist Church building fund.

Sis McQuillan
Barbara E. "Sis" McQuillan, 79, of Galena, died Thursday afternoon (April 4, 2002) at The Village at Westerville Nursing Center.
She was born Feb. 24, 1923, in Beaver to the late Lum and Edna Chandler. She was a Westerville High School graduate.
She had worked at Timken Co., as a school bus driver for St. Paul Catholic Schools, and was the family farm manager. Mrs. McQuillan was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, the Delaware County Harness Horsemen Association, the United States Trotting Association, American Legion Post 171 Auxiliary, and was a former member of St. Paul Church, Westerville. She enjoyed horses and had been a 4-H adviser.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles J. "Joe" Jr. and Amy McQuillan of Celina; two daughters and a son-in-law, Edna J. and Norman Sears of North Ridge, Calif., and Mary E. Clemens of Galena; seven grandchildren, Norman B., Corey T. Charles J. III, Franklin J., Jamy M., Jennifer, and William J.; four great-grandchildren, Natasha J., Alexis N., Colton T., and Emma C.; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Robert and Nin Chandler, of Powell, Elmer and Joann Chandler, of Mount Vernon, and Harry Chandler of Howard; and a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Neil Ramsey of Mount Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles J. McQuillan, who died in 1997, and a brother, Hank Chandler.
Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 3:45 p.m., at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, at Ohio routes 3 and 61, Sunbury. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9633 U.S. 36/Ohio 37E, Sunbury, with the Rev. James Walter officiating. Burial will be in Burnside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Catherine Trigg
Catherine L. "Kitty" Trigg, 48, of Delaware, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning (April 3, 2002) at Riverside Methodist Hospitals, Columbus.
She was born Feb. 1, 1954, in Delaware, to Archie L. and Mary Catherine (Reinhard) Trigg. Valedictorian of the Olentangy High School class of 1972, she attended Notre Dame School for Girls in Cleveland, earned a bachelor’s degree in pre-medicine from Ohio State University, received a master’s degree in physical therapy from Cleveland State University, and a master’s degree in education from Otterbein College. She remained a student, studying to further her education.
She worked as a physical therapist for Columbus School for the Blind and taught physical therapy courses at Ohio State. She formerly worked as a physical therapist for Children’s Hospital and headed the physical therapy department at Grady Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Physical Therapy Association and loved to play softball and travel.
She is survived by five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Rose Mary and Wendell Feasel and Patricia and William Havens, all of Delaware, Margaret and Delbert Webster of Richwood, Dorothy Patingale of Ashley, and Joan and Don Cahill of Tiffin; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Edmund and Sharon Trigg of Moose, Wyo., and James and Linda Trigg and Archie J. and Beth Trigg, all of Delaware; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John F. Trigg; and a sister, Roberta Trigg.
There will be no visiting hours. A memorial mass was to be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Sizemore as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

John Beckley
John R. Beckley Sr., 68, of Columbus and formerly of Bellpoint, died Friday (May 31, 2002) at the Kobacker House in Columbus.
He was born Oct. 23, 1933, in Bellpoint, to Samuel and Clarisa (McClary) Beckley. A graduate of Bellpoint High School, he was a Korean War U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He retired as a tool maker and machinist at Rockwell International and McDonnell Douglas. Mr. Beckley was a member of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church, Hilliard American Legion and Worthington Moose Lodge.
He is survived by two sons, John of Columbus, and Jerry of Dublin; a brother, James of Chandler, Ariz.; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Dick Herd of Cincinnati; two grandsons, Shawn and Ryan of Avon Lake; and his father-in-law and friend, Dave Young of Delaware.
There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in Oller Cemetery, with Bobby Lowe officiating.
Members of the Delaware County Veterans Association will fold and present the flag.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kobacker House, 3595 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43214.
Robinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

David Mickey
David Lee Mickey, 43, of Delaware, died Friday morning (May 31, 2002) at his residence.
He was born Feb. 13, 1959, in Mount Vernon, to John Mosley and Dorothy (Compton) Mosley.
He is survived by his parents; his wife of 18 years, Connie (Peters) Mickey of Delaware; a stepson, Donald Compton of Marengo; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Kathy Mickey of Ashley, and Manuel and Frenchetta Anzures of Delaware; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Barbara and Steven Mayes of Delaware, Jackie and Danny Sheets of Delaware, and Angie “Tippy” Branham of Cincinnati; a granddaughter, Veronica Kaelynn Caudill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mickey was preceded in death by his grandmother.
Visiting hours will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bennett Brown Rodman Funeral Home, Delaware. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Troy Chapel Church, 4269 U.S. 23N, with Pastor Earl Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Aubrey Bartee
Aubrey L. Bartee, 66, of Delaware and Eclectic, Ala., died Friday (Aug. 2, 2002) in Delaware
He was born Sept. 29, 1935, in Birmingham, Ala., to Mary Ellis (Sellers) Bartee and Marshall Louis Bartee Sr. He was a Delaware resident for two years and maintained a residence in Eclectic. Mr. Bartee had attended the University of Arizona. He was a Vietnam veteran, and retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years, 28 days of service. He worked for the Civil Service Commission and was a vocational instructor for an agency that teaches home-building skills to disadvantaged youth. He was a member of the Eastland Heights Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge, and the Shoreline Park Association in Alabama. He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou; three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Lou and James McClellan of Montgomery, Ala., Cheryl Lee and Donald Ward of Delaware, and Ellen Lisa and Al Cathey of Grove City; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Jeremy McClellan, Jenny and Heath Christian, Brian and Nicole Hays, Michael and Ruth Akers, Amanda and Tim Lilly, Lauren Cathey and Chelsie Cathey; four great-grandchildren, Dustin, Zachery, and Heath Christian and Michael Allen Akers; a brother, Edward, of Alabama; and a sister, Mattie Lou Bartee of California.
He was preceded in death be one sister, Mary Elizabeth Bartee; and five brothers, Marshall Louis Bartee Jr., John Bartee, Charles Sellers Bartee, Richard Bartee, and Luther Eugene Bartee.
Visiting hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Robinson Funeral Home, where services will held Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ron Hock officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery; the Delaware County Veterans Association will provide military honors.

Catherine Peters
Catherine “Cithi” Cunningham Brown Peters of Richmond, Va., and formerly of Delaware, died Wednesday (July 31, 2002).
She was born in Indianapolis in 1921 to Anna S. and James T. Cunningham.
She was executive director of the Delaware County Alcohol Council until her retirement. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Richmond, and the Junior League of Indianapolis and the Christamore House Guild Inc., in Indianopolis.
She is survived by two daughters, Sarah L. Brown and Greta B. Peters, and her stepson/son-in-law, Charles Taft Peters Jr., all of Richmond; a granddaughter, Heather W. Mathews, of Los Angeles; a grandson, Charles Taft Peters III of Richmond; a niece and two nephews; and many friends in Richmond, Delaware, and Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Taft Peters, of Delaware, and her brother, James Andrew Cunningham, of Indianapolis.
Graveside services will be Aug. 5 in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis. Flanner and Buchanan Mortuary, Indianapolis, is in charge of arrangements.

Connie Peterson
Connie Peterson, 72, of Sun City, Calif., formerly of Delaware and Cardington, died Friday, July 26, 2002, in Sun City. She was born Dec. 15, 1929, in Ronceverte, W. Va. Educated at the Greenbriar School and the University of West Virginia in accounting and English literature, she served as the president’s wife both at The American Graduate School of International Management and at Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania. She was a social worker in both Ohio and Florida.
She was a member of the PEO, an organization that promotes educational opportunities for women, and was active in a number of civic groups. She was a member of the Sun City United Church of Christ.
Mrs. Peterson is survived by her husband, Dr. Arthur L. Peterson; four children, Jon and his wife Melissa of Delaware, Rebecca McDaniel and her husband Dean of San Diego, Donna of Sun City, and Ingrid of Wolf Point, Mont.; five grandchildren; a brother, Milton Harr of Charleston, W. Va.; and two sisters Rebecca Gillespie and Eleanor Talkington of White Sulphur Springs, W. Va.
Contributions may be made to the P.E.O. Scholarship Fund at Cottey College, Nevada, MO 64772. A private service was held at the Sun City United Church of Christ on July 28.

James Roush
James A. “Jim” Roush, 68, formerly of Prospect, died Thursday (Aug. 1, 2002) at Wintersong Village Care Center following an extended illness.
He was born March 15, 1934, in Hartford West Virginia. He moved from Magnetic Springs to Prospect more than 20 years ago. He worked for 29 years as a drag line operator for the Shelly Company in Prospect and then as a dock worker for the Nickles Bakery in Marion.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ann (Knight) Roush; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Marilyn and Jimmy Smith of Mansfield, Vickie D. and Paul Smith of Columbus, Carol and Mike Converse of Delaware, and Chera Roush of Marion; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Jim and Donna Roush of Marengo, Anthony and Angie Roush of Chesterville, Ed and Novona Haller of Delaware, and James A. Roush of Prospect; 22 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Emma Sams of Albany.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Hutchins; a grandson, Michael R. Converse Jr., 10 brothers and one sister.
Visiting hours will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Randy Runyon officiating. Burial will follow in Galena Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family in care of DeVore-Snyer Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware OH 43015.

Margaret Robinson Shively
Margaret “Peggy” Robinson Shively, 89, of Delaware, died Friday evening (Aug. 2, 2002) at her home.
She was born Feb. 28, 1913, in Delaware, to Harry and Della (Shoemaker) Swope. She graduated from Delaware High School and attended Ohio University.
She was associated with Robinson Funeral Home through her first husband, Gene, and was a partner in the McKee Funeral Home from 1958 to 1966. She later served as receptionist, bookkeeper and partner in the Robinson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shively was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, a former member of the First Presbyterian Church and Mother’s Club, and she served on the Children’s Home board for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Ken Shively; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Sue Robinson of Delaware; a granddaughter and her husband, Julie and Joe Robinson-Wileschael of Delaware; a grandson and his wife, Rob and Jolyn Robinson of Zionsville, Ind.; a great-granddaughter, Hope Alexandra Robinson-Wileschael; a cousin, Jeff Danison; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Robinson in 1957 and her brother Bus Swope.
Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home, 32 W. Winter St., Delaware, where services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bertie Dell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
