David E. Baxter
David E. Baxter, 68, of Radnor, died unexpectedly early Tuesday morning (March 30, 2004) following a brief illness.
He was born March 15, 1936 in Radnor to Everett and Leona (Jacobs) Baxter. He was a lifelong Radnor resident and farmer, having worked for and retired from B.F. Goodrich, Stratoflex, and Parker Hanniffan. He was a member of the Cornerstone Alliance Church of Marion, where he served as elder and volunteered with AWANA and other youth programs. He was a longtime member and deacon of the Radnor Baptist Church and served as its treasurer for 25 years. He enjoyed listening to music and was a self-taught violinist. He was a charter member of the Marion Steam and Gas Engine Club. He was an avid collector and restorer of antique farm machinery and was considered by many to be the ultimate authority in that area. For many years, he was the host for Harvest Days.
He is survived by his wife, Sara; daughters, Kathy (Robert) Link of Colorado Springs, Colo., Susan (Chris) Coffman of Delaware; son, Michael of Radnor; four granddaughters, Bethany and Rachel Link, Christina Christian and Andrea Coffman; two brothers, Bryan and Jimmie of Radnor; and two sisters, Jean Lowe of Florida and Marianne Robinson of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three children, Paul and David and an infant.
Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Bennett Brown Rodman Funeral Home and Crematory, where services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Glenn G. Ellzey
Glenn G. Ellzey, 80, of 100 Willow Brook Way S. and formerly of Homestead Lane and Dogwood Drive, died Thursday (April 1, 2004) in St. Ann’s Hospital, Westerville.
He was born March 23, 1924 in Biloxi, Miss., to Daniel Webster I and Mildred Marie (Stanovich) Ellzey. He served in the South Pacific with the U.S. Navy in World War II. Following the war, he attended Armstrong College in Berkeley, Calif. His lifetime career was as a supervisor of accounting for the American Can Co. in Oakland, Calif., which led him to St. Paul, Minn., Houston and Delaware before he retired in St. Louis after 32 years. He then returned to Delaware. He was a member, elder, trustee, and deacon of First Presbyterian Church. He served on the board of directors of the United Way and was a volunteer at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lila; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cheryl Ellzey of Columbus, the Rev. Joyce and the Rev. Daryl Nelson of Lansdale, Pa., and Renee and Mike VanCooney of Raleigh, N.C.; five grandchildren, Carrie Brown, Brent Nelson, Shannon Jenke, and Mandy and Ryan VanCooney; one great-grandson, Christopher Jenke; three sisters, Millie Rummel and Marilyn Hodgson, both of Woodland, Calif., and Elaine Fisher of San Jose, Calif.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel and Jacob.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home, Delaware, with the funeral service Monday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Deborah Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery where the Delaware County Veterans will perform military honors.

Dick Travis
Dick Travis, 61, of Delaware, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday (March 31, 2004) at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 30, 1942 in Kilbourne to Jay and IvaBelle Thomas Travis. A lifelong Delaware resident, he was a Vietnam Marine veteran and the owner of D&T Sign & Crane Co. of Delaware. He was a lifetime member of Moose Lodge No. 1167, and enjoyed gambling and playing the odds.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, daughters Tracy Travis and Becky Fisher of Sunbury, son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Paula Travis of Delaware, a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Jim and Ivett Signs of Dayton; four grandchildren, Allen and Tyler Travis and Jimmy and Ashley Signs; a sister, Jo Ann Travis of Columbus; three brothers, Butch Travis of Columbus, Terry Travis of Columbus and Fred Travis of Florida; stepparents Rudy and Pat Schirtzinger of Kilbourne; mother-in-law Elizabeth Coy of Delaware; sisters-in-law Deborah (Mike) Robinson of Galena and Diana Ruffing of Delaware, brother-in-law Raymond (Kathleen) Coy of Delaware; and special friends Carl Leach, Dickie Teeter, K.Y., Jim Hurley, Mike Zimmerman, Curt Hemans, Bill Sekulich, Reggie Ebright and Freddy DiPietro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an uncle, Paul Travis, father-in-law Otis Coy, and a brother-in-law, Richard Coy.
Friends will be received at Robinson Funeral Home this afternoon from 4-8 p.m., where funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery with military honors provided by the Delaware County Veterans Association. The Delaware Moose Lodge officers will conduct a Moose service at the funeral home at the close of calling hours. At the conclusion of the graveside service on Saturday morning, all are invited back to the Moose Lodge for a time of fellowship and remembrance. Helen Morrison
Helen Faye (McKitrick) Morrison, 93, of Delaware, died Thursday (Jan. 30, 2003) at Grady Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 1, 1909, in New Dover, to Pearl and Edith (Bailey) McKitrick. She attended the Delaware Church of Christ in Christian Union.
She is survived by her daughter, Eileen “Sis” Fogel of Medina; two sons, Erwin Morrison and his wife, Joanne, of Columbus and Marvin Morrison and his wife, Lavonne, of Toronto, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Genevieve McAdow; sister-in-law, Lyla McKitrick; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Faye Morrison; four sisters, Edna Sams, Irene Watson Johnson, Gladys Humble and Imagene Turner; one brother, Forest McKitrick; and two sons, Lowell and Larry Morrison.
Visitation hours will be Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rutherford Funeral Home, 450 W. Olentangy St., Powell. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, 162 Belle Ave., Delaware, with the Revs. Marty Adams and Warren Goble officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Cecil Robinson
Cecil H. Robinson, 87, of Radnor, died Thursday (Jan. 30, 2003) at Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 24, 1915, in Somerset, Ohio, to May (Bidlack) and Clayton Robinson. His family moved to Radnor in 1919, where they established the farm on which he lived until his death. A 1933 graduate of Radnor High School, he attended Ohio State University’s College of Agriculture, where he was first introduced to seed hybridization.
In 1936, he began producing hybrid seed corn on the family farm, selling seed to local farmers. He graduated from OSU in 1940 with a degree in agricultural engineering and then taught for two years at Purdue University. In 1942, he and his wife, Eloise, moved to Croton, where he farmed for two years before moving back to the family farm in Radnor.
A bold and innovative pioneer, Robinson owned and operated Robinson Hybrids Inc., for 50 years. He was committed to research and the application of new technologies in both crop and livestock production. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America, a supporter of 4-H, served on the board of the Delaware County Soil Conservation Service, National Livestock and Meat Board, and was a longtime member of Radnor Grange and the Ohio Farm Bureau. A man of great integrity, he was an active, lifelong member of the Radnor United Church of Christ. A strong advocate for education, Robinson was a member of the Radnor School Board and worked on numerous projects for Buckeye Valley schools. He actively supported the College of Agriculture at Ohio State University and the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center at Wooster with committee and fund-raising efforts. In 1985, he was inducted into the Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eloise (Owens); two daughters, Carol Robinson of Toledo, and Nancy Prindle and her husband, Allen, of Radnor; a son, Tom Robinson and his wife, Ellen, of Newark; four grandchildren, Edward and Justin Prindle, and Crystal and Levi Robinson; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Jeanette of Danville, Ky., J.B. and Martha of Foley, Ala., and Clayton and Julie of Florida; and a sister, Mary Long of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Dale.
Visitation will be Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home, 32 W. Winter St., Delaware. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Radnor United Church of Christ, 4407 Ohio 203, Radnor, with the Revs. Lynn and Robert Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Radnor Cemetery.

John Jensen
Johnathon G. “John” Jensen, 43, of Delaware, died unexpectedly early Tuesday morning (April 8, 2003) at Marion General Hospital from injuries sustained in a traffic accident in Marion County.
He was born on Feb. 25, 1960, in Oakland, Calif. He was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School, class of 1978. John moved to Delaware in 1992 from Columbus. He worked as a production assistant in the paint department at Honda of America in Marysville.
John enjoyed spending time with his boys, golfing and chess, and was a member of Delaware Eagle and Moose lodges. He collected beer steins and loved the ocean and items associated with the ocean, including lighthouses.
Mr. Jensen is survived by his sons, Zach and Kyle, and their mother and his former wife, Lisa Jensen of Delaware; his parents, Lilly and John Young of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Michael Jensen, of Newark, N.J.; a sister, Christine Vandergrift, of Oakridge, Tenn.; his half-sister, Marie Steward, of Fort Bragg, N.C.; his former mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary and Bill Wysong, of Delaware; his girlfriend, Lucy Powers of Ashley, her daughter, Shannon, and her son, Chad.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Jensen; and his grandmother, Freda Maier.
Visiting hours will be Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., where a memorial service will follow Saturday at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Linda Meredith officiating.

Barbara E. Belt
Barbara E. Belt, 88, of Delaware, died unexpectedly Thursday (Oct. 2, 2003) following a brief illness Thursday at Arbors of Delaware.
She was born Jan. 14, 1915 in Sandyville, W.Va., to Nakoda and Myrtle Thompson Morrison.
She was a lifetime Delaware County resident. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ralph Belt; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Robert Sellers of Radnor; a son and daughter-in-law, Barney and Ethel of Sunbury; five grandchildren, Michelle Belt, Beth and her husband David Weber; Chris and his wife Tammy Sellers, Bart Sellers and his fiancé Wendy Milhon, and Kurt Sellers and his companion Kelly Kubay; eight great-grandchildren, Caleb, Calley and Colton Weber, Michael Chapman-Sellers, Andrew Baer, Ashleigh and Zachary Sellers, and Logan Kubay; and one sister and brother-in-law, Vera and Avery Jones of Radnor.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5 at Bennett Brown Rodman Funeral Home in Delaware, 92 N. Sandusky St., where funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in Radnor Cemetery.

Emily Miller
Emily A. (Keltto) Miller, 81, died Saturday (Sept. 27, 2003).
She was born Jan. 24, 1922 in Fairport, to John and Martha Keltto. She was a resident at Sarah Moore Home in the assisted care unit. She was a former resident of Mentor Headlands until September 2002.
She is survived by three sons, John R. Miller of Delaware, Charles R. Miller of Madison and Thomas L. Miller of Zephyr Hills, Fla; and many grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl R. Miller; and her daughter Elaine M. (Miller) Urbanski.
A memorial service will be Monday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. at the North Mentor Centenary Methodist Church, 9290 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor. Graveside services will immediately follow at Mentor Municipal Cemetery, 6881 Hopkins Road, Mentor (grave site is located in the southeast corner, section 29). A gathering will follow at the North Mentor Centenary Methodist Church, where drinks and sandwiches will be provided.

Farrel Yesner
Farrel Yesner, 86, died Wednesday (Oct. 1, 2003) at Martins Run Health Care Center in Media, Pa.
He was born in Philadelphia to Louis and Julia Yesner. A pioneer of the fast food industry, he was chief operating officer of Deweys 15-unit restaurant chain in the Philadelphia area. He moved to south Florida following his retirement in 1975 and won many prizes in Philadelphia and Florida for his water color paintings. Many of his paintings are displayed in law and accounting offices and private homes in both areas. He was a member of the B’nai Brith Sports Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Tobie (Reisman); two sons, Dewey Yesner of Glen Mills, Pa., and Budd Yesner of Erwinna, Pa.; and a daughter and son-in-law, Lenni and Steven Wilson of Delaware. He was the grandfather of Cari and her husband, Michael Oberfield, Casi Wilson and the late Jami Wilson. He was the great-grandfather of Mia and Avery.
The family will receive guests at the Yesner home in Media, Pa. Sunday, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Funeral services are private in Philadelphia.

Carl Younkin
Carl Younkin, 83, died Wednesday (Oct. 1, 2003) at Columbus Colony.
He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Elks in Delaware, and retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation following 20 years of service.
He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Bob and Ann, Ed and Maureen, and Tim Younkin; a daughter, Carla Boring; four grandchildren, Heather, Alex, Caitlyn and Heath Younkin and his wife, Kelly; two great-grandchildren, Emy and Bart Younkin; and several cousins.
Visitation is Oct. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 4 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 2697 Columbus St., in Grove City. Funeral services will be held Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Meredith officiating. Burial will follow in Galena Cemetery.
