All were joined in death by their mother, Dixie Irene (Ady) Kahrig, due to a fire in the home on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002. Preceded in death by their paternal grandmother, Mary Kahrig; maternal grandfather, Donald Ady and great-grandparents, Edna Ault, Oscar Ady, Floyd Ault, Frank Condo, Doyle and Eileen Shanklin and Lawrence Kahrig. Survivors include their father, Christopher Kahrig; brother, Corey Ady of the home; maternal grandmother, Shirley Ady of Brewster and paternal grandfather, Francis Kahrig of Canton. Their paternal aunt and uncle, Marita and Brian Simon of Canal Fulton and maternal aunts and uncles, Dawn Ady of Brewster, Norene Kouth and Mike Marsh of Massillon, Annette Nupp of Bolivar, Bryan and Birget Kouth of Washington, and Scott and Kim Ady of Brewster; maternal great-grandmother, Mary Condo and paternal great-grandmother, Ella Kahrig also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the 38th Street Church of Christ, 3904 38th St. NW, Canton, OH 44718, with Chaplain Samuel McConkey and Ministers Lance Lindenberger and Glenn Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Stanwood Cemetery. Calling hours in the church Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Ronald L. Bryant, Stark County Firefighter's Association Chaplain and Chaplain Samuel McConkey will host a Memorial service for all safety personnel Monday at 6 p.m. in the 38th Street Church of Christ.

Arlene M. Minnick
Arlene M. Minnick, age 83, of Canton, more recently of St. Josephs Care Center in Louisville, passed away Saturday evening in the emergency room of Aultman Hospital. Arlene was born April 19, 1918 in Canton to her parents the late Clyde and Cora (Scherer) Graber. Arlene was a member of the First United Church of Christ, and was a retired hostess at Mergus Restaurant. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Minnick in 1976; and brother, Clarence Graber. Survivors include two sisters, Viola Newell of Tarpin Springs, FL., and La Deane Lofgren of Louisville; three brothers, Nelson Graber of Canton, Dr. Dale Graber of Toledo, OH., and Lester Graber of Columbia, SC. There are numerous nieces and nephews also surviving. Private funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home. Burial will be in Northlawn Cemetery.

Bernice D. Bole
Bernice D. Bole, age 93, of Louisville, passed away Sunday January 6, 2002, in Green Meadows Health Wellness Center in Louisville. She was born in Canton June 15, 1908 to the late LeRoy and Clora (Nye) Jackman. She was a member of the Paradise United Church of Christ in Louisville and was a Charter Member of the Louisville Womens Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn E. Bole in 1985; a sister, Bertha Muse; a brother, Chester Jackman; and a grandson, Lynn David Bole. She is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, Lynn J. and Marilyn Bole of Louisville; two grandchildren, Lisa Bole of Louisville, Michael and his wife, Stephanie Bole of Canton; a great granddaughter, Kelly Marie Bole; sister-in-law, Margaret Jackman of North Canton. Private family services will be held Wednesday in the Stier-Israel Funeral Home of Louisville with Rev. Dr. Kline Roberts III officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Paradise United Church of Christ in Louisville.

Bruce A. Steiner
Bruce A. Steiner, age 90, of N. Canton, died Sunday in Mercy Medical Center. He was a life resident of the Canton area, and was a 1928 graduate of McKinley High School. He was a World War II Army veteran, and was the former owner and operator of Steiner's Fruit and Vegetables. Following that he worked for Baer's Office Supplies. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the M.S. of A. Club, and had been a former teacher and Sunday School Superintendent at the First Baptist Church. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Beulah T. Steiner; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Richard Thompson of North Canton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce A. Jr. and Beth Steiner of Great Falls, VA and William A. and Janice Steiner of Highland Heights, KY; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin L. Slyh officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Parkinson's Action Network, 300 North Lee St., Suite 500, Alexandria, VA 22314.

Denise H. Weber
Denise H. Weber, (nee Desich). Beloved wife of Michael A. Weber of N. Canton; dear mother of Max, age 12 and Alex, age 8; beloved daughter of Catherine Desich of Lorain, OH and the late, Daniel B. Desich; dear sister, of Don Desich of Howard, OH and Dianne Scoles (Reed) of Louisville, KY. The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to American Cancer Society. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 9 at 1 p.m. in St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 4663 Wayview St. NW, N. Canton, OH, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Dixie I. Kahrig
Dixie Irene (Ady) Kahrig, age 28, of Brewster, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, the result of a fire in her home. Born July 13, 1973, in Canton, OH, she was a member of the New Philadelphia Church of Christ, a member of the ASA Softball League and was a former nurses aide. Preceded in death by her father, Donald Ady; one sister, Dawn Rayleen Ady; grandmother, Edna Ault; grandfathers, Frank Condo, Oscar Ady and Floyd Ault; her mother-in-law, Mary Kahrig. Mrs. Kahrig is joined in death by her children, Alyssa Sky Kahrig, Zachary Alan Ady-Kahrig, Keyawnu Lawrence Kahrig, Dawson Ray Ady, Bryce Nicholos Kahrig and infant, Mariah Irene Kahrig. Survivors include her husband, Christopher Kahrig and son, Corey Ady of the home; her mother, Shirley Ady and twin sister, Dawn Ady, both of Brewster; sister and brother-in-law, Norene Kouth and Mike Marsh of Massillon; sister, Annette Nupp of Bolivar; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bryan and Birget Kouth of Washington, and Scott and Kim Ady of Brewster; grandmother, Mary Condo. There are her father-in-law, Francis Kahrig of Canton; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marita and Brian Simon of Canal Fulton and a host of friends also surviving. Gerald C. Edwards
Gerald Coleman Edwards, age 89, of Canton, died Sunday morning at the Laurels of Massillon following an extended illness. He was born Oct. 23, 1912 in Higbee, MO to his parents, the late William and Olar Mae Edwards. He resided in the Canton area most of his life and was employed as a wholesale truck driver for Nickles Bakery for 25 years, retiring in 1974. Mr Edwards was graduated in 1930 from McKinley High School and was a member of Westbrook Park United Methodist Church, Brewster Moose Lodge and Elms Country Club where he recorded two holes-in-one after his 75th birthday. He was an avid sports enthusiast and had been actively involved in bowling. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Edwards in 1968; his second wife, Lorraine Edwards in 1980; his aunt, Martha Mae Johnson, who raised him following the death of his mother; his brothers, Cecil Edwards and Bert Johnson; two sisters. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Edwards, to whom he was married in 1985; his sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Fay Edwards of Lyunchburg, VA and Robert and Janet Edwards of Massillon; daughters and son-in-law, Linda McWilliams, Virginia Wood, Cathy and Trent Dyer, all of Canton; step-children, Michael and Mary McWilliams of Canton, Bonnie and Frank Dawson of Florida City, FL; 18 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. David Case officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Burial Park. Calling hours will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Houston M. Lemasters, Jr.
Houston M. Lemasters, Jr., age 63, of Canton, OH, passed away Monday morning in the Arbors of Canton following a brief illness. Born in Massillon on Oct. 25, 1938, he was a graduate of Jackson High School and had attended Ohio State University. He was formerly employed with his father in the family business operating the Lemasters Plumbing and Heating Co. and currently was employed as an Inspector for the State of Ohio. He was a member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Local Pipefitters Union. He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston Lemasters, Sr. and Eva D. Lemasters. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Kendra and Mike Osborne and grandson, Samuel Reid Osborne, all of Dayton, OH; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Joylette and Thomas Spencer of Syracuse, NY, Donna and Andrew Stanley of Salem, NC and Kay and John Alsip of Excelsior, MN; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Harold L. Davis officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours at the funeral home two hours prior to services on Thursday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Karl R. Harsh
Karl R. Harsh. Services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger Gordon Funeral Home. Friends may call Tuesday (tonight) 7-9 p.m.

Mae Gillispie
Mae Gillispie, age 82, of the St. Joseph's Care Center, formerly of the Inn At Belden Village, died Sunday in Aultman Hospital. Survived by sons, Calvin (Ginn) and Roger (Marsha); granddaughter, Callie; brother, Richard; and sisters, Dene, Carol, and Joann. Preceded in death by husband, N.O. Bud in 2000; brother, Luther; and sister, Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd. NW, with Rev. Charles Ulmer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4815 Munson St. NW, Canton, OH 44718, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Ralph E. Leslie
Ralph E. Leslie, age 84 of Plain Township died Saturday morning in his residence after a sudden illness. Born in Saginaw, MI, he was an Army Veteran of WWII. A graduate of the Cleveland School of Embalming in 1939, Mr. Leslie was a retired funeral director having owned the Ralph E. Leslie Home for Funerals in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Leslie moved to Plain Township from Pittsburgh in 1998 following the death of his wife, Patricia Anne to reside near his extended family. Though his time living here was brief he touched many lives and made many friends who cared for him dearly. According to his wishes there will be a private interment in North Lawn Cemetery. Many thanks to all who came to know and care for him and as he would always say Goodbye, Good Luck and God Bless You. The Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Robert E. Pyle
Robert E. Pyle, age 86, of Alliance, died at 3:11 a.m. Jan. 6, 2002, at Alliance Community Hospital. Mr. Pyle was a lifelong farmer and also employed by B W Tubular Division until retiring in 1973 after 32 years of service. He attended Beechwood Christian Church and was a 50-year member of Conrad Masonic Lodge #271 FAM, 50-year member of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio Alliance Chapter #83 and a 30-year member and past matron of the Esther Chapter #120 Order of the Eastern Star in Minerva. He is survived by his wife, Jean (Myers) Pyle; son, Robert E. Pyle Jr. (Pam) of Columbus; three daughters, Susan and Dawna Pyle of Alliance, Mrs. Mark (Cynthia) Naylor of Hartville; four grandsons. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with John Hannum. Evangelist officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Calling hours 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Masonic services will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday by Conrad Masonic Lodge #271. Russell D. Moore
Russell D. Moore, age 92, formerly of 1528 Mattie St. SE, Canton, OH, died at Dunlap Hospital in Orrville, Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, following three months of declining health. He was born in New Philadelphia, OH, on July 4, 1909 the son of Clarence D. and Irma M. (Williams) Moore. He was united in marriage to Freda McCartney on May 26, 1934. She died in 1979. He had been a resident of Canton for over 50 years and was formerly employed at the Ford Motor Co. in Canton as a grinder, retiring in 1974. He loved fishing and traveling. He is survived by a daughter, Patsy (Dwain) Sheffer of Louisville, OH; grandchildren, Lisa (Dan) Arnold of N. Canton, OH and Susan (Bill) McDevitt of Millersville, MD; great-grandchildren, Patrick and Caroline Arnold, Richard and Rachel McDevitt; sisters, Kathryn (Lester) Wakefield of Orrville, OH, Erma (John) Glovinsky of Marblehead, OH; brother, James (Ernestine) Moore of Aiken, SC. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, Stanley and Donald C. Moore. Funeral services will be held at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bill Seymour officiating. Burial will take place in Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday one hour prior to services.
