Allison Cook
Allison Ted Cook, age 75, of Canton, died Wednesday morning in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born Feb. 12, 1926, in Washington Twp., OH, to his parents the late George and Gracie Cook. He was retired from Republic/
LTV Steel after 42 years of service. Preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Gene Cook. Survivors include his wife, Beulah of the home, with whom he celebrated 45 years of marriage; one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Nancy Gordon of Canal Fulton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Ronald Muller of Canton and Linda and Tim Gaylor Sr. of Navarre; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Dr. Roger S. Alber officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill. Calling hours in the funeral home Sunday 2-5 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday from 12 Noon-1 p.m.
Anna M. Flitcraft
Anna M. Flitcraft, age 92, of Louisville, passed away Saturday Jan. 19, 2002, in the Great Trail Care Center, Minerva, OH. She was born in Alliance April 11, 1909, to the late Thomas and Anna (Tanner) Edwards II. She was an accountant and was retired from Tom Edwards Accounting in Louisville. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. in 1985, and a sister, Jennie Laughlin. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Dale Speakman of Paris, OH; two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert T. and Jean Flitcraft of Louisville, Robert L. and Charlotte Flitcraft of Atlanta, GA; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Wey of Malvern, Doris Zancourides of Canton, Shirley and Hubert Howes of North Canton, Margaret and Charles Sluss of Minerva; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Lucille Edwards III of Louisville, Dorothy and John Edwards of Montana; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Stier-Israel Funeral Home, Louisville with Rev. DeLanie Young. Friends may call one hour before services at the funeral home. Interment in Union Cemetery, Louisville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Canton Baptist Temple.

Annis I. Miller. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Kimm officiating. Burial will be in Warstler Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home on Sunday (today) 5-8 p.m. Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother touched so many lives as she passed through this life. Many people knew her as a special friend, grandma and the candy lady as everywhere she went she wanted to give a kiss to someone, so she handed them salt water taffy, a kiss from her to them. She touched so many lives, made a vast number of friends and most of all she was the best mom, grandma and great-grandma that anyone could ever ask for. She went the extra mile, she loved like nobody could love and had a great love for God. She will always be remembered for the love she had for everyone, everywhere. We Love You.

Birt J. Hays, age 77, of North Canton, died Saturday, January 19, 2002, in Mercy Hospital. Private memorial services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. There will be calling hours at the funeral home.
Dennis E. Jakab
Dennis E. Jakab, age 49, of Canton, passed away Saturday morning in Mercy Medical Center Emergency Room after a sudden illness. He was a life resident of Canton, he was of Catholic faith. He was retired on disability having been employed at Doctors Hospital and Medina General Hospital as a Environmental Service. He was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1970 and also a graduate of Akron University in 1972. He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Burgess) Jakab; one son, Anthony Jakab; and one daughter, Colleen Marie Jakab both of the home; one brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Rebecca Jakab of Canton; his parents, Emery and Joan (Pope) Jakab of Canton; also a nephew, Brian Lowry; and niece, Carrie Lowry. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church with Monsignor John C. Finigan as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 6-9 p.m. in the Rossi Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas High School, 2121 Reno Dr. N.E., Louisville, OH 44641. There will be a Wake Service Monday at 5:45 p.m. in the funeral home.
Eleanor H. McKelvey
Eleanor H. McKelvey, age 78, of North Canton, died Saturday, January 19, 2002, in the Cleveland Clinic. The daughter of the late, David and Margaret (Dewar) Howison, she was born in Scotland, January 5, 1924. She was a member of the Northminster Presbyterian Church in North Canton, where she served as a deacon. A retired employee of the Hoover Co., she also was active in the Senior's Group at the North Canton YMCA. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Janet M. and Dr. John T. Jr. Mendenhall of Crafton, PA; sons and daughters-in-law, James D. McKelvey and Tracy Riley of North Canton and Alan S. and Janet L. McKelvey of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lindsay and J.T.Mendenhall, James Jr., Sutherland, Kenzie Grace, Adam and Kristen McKelvey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. McKelvey in 1989 and her stepmother, Elizabeth Howison. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Northminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Richard Scherpenisse officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park in Pittsburgh. Erma L. Randulic
Erma L. Randulic, age 83, of East Canton, OH., died Saturday, January 19, 2002, at the Green Meadows Health Care Center, Louisville, OH., following a long illness. Born October 10, 1918, in Bekerfield, CA., to the late Asia Minor Miller and Gertrude Garrett Miller. Erma retired in 1968 from the former Timken Mercy Hospital where she worked in housekeeping. She was of Methodist faith, and attended the 11th Street Church of God, Canton, OH. Survivors include her husband, John H. Randulic, who she married July 1, 1936; four children, John B. and wife, Virginia Randulic of Canton, OH., Jerry Lee and wife, Susan Randulic of Louisville OH., Anita L. and husband, Ron Smith of Bolivar, OH., Carol A. and husband, Ron Affolter of Sunrise, FL; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Jean Groff of Mansfield, OH. Preceded in death by a daughter, Etta Elaine Randulic; a grand-daughter, Susan Smith; grandson, Michael Affolter; brother, Maris Lee Miller; and a sister, Marie Coss. Frances E. Peters
Frances E. Peters, age 85, of Waynesburg, passed away peacefully Wed. evening. Born in Malvern, a daughter of the late James and Ethel Slagle Moore, she had been a longtime resident of the Waynesburg area, living the last seven years in Rose Lane Health Center. Frances was a homemaker and retiree of U.S. Ceramic Tile of East Sparta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, on Dec. 10, 1990. Frances and Paul were active for many years in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waynesburg. She was a quiet lady who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. With Paul, she hosted many great family holidays meals. She was a second mom and grandma to her sister's children. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Moore and Ruth Davies. Aunt Frances is survived by two very special nieces and their husbands, Dennis and Judy Potts and Ronald and Janet Campbell, and many other nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to the caring staff of Rose Lane who showed much kindness and concern. Services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Potts officiating. Interment in Bethlehem Cemetery. Howard L. \Hi\Courtney. A memorial service was held on January 8, 2002, in Carrollton for Howard L. \Hi\Courtney, age 86, of Canton who passed away January 4, 2002. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the VFW, Amvets, Cootie Club, Massillon Museum, and Northeast Community Center. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Florence, in 1987, seven brothers and seven sisters. Survived by brother and sister-in-law, Carl E. \Chuck\and Liliane Courtney, and sister-in-law, Helen Courtney, all of Canton; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. James L. Walters
James L. Walters, age 70, of Canton, died Saturday morning in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Son of the late Leslie J. and Dorothy E. (Blanc) Walters. He was a life resident of the Canton area, retiring from Karl Kuemmerling, Inc. in 1995 as Vice President with 25 years of service. Member of the North Industry Christian Church where he had served as a Deacon and board member. Member of the Loyal Order of Moose #233, AARP, the Canton Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept., Station #1 with 25 years of service and the former Junior Order Band. Jim was a 1949 graduate of Canton South High School and was very involved in Genealogy. He was a Korean War Army veteran. Survived by his wife, Margaret I. (Stephenson) to whom he was married 47 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Elaine Walters of Canton; Robert J. Bob and Tammie L. Walters of Canton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan E. and Richard Hilliard of Sarasota, FL, Kathleen M. and Richard Hawk of Canton; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Gary and Sylvia Walters, Charles L. Walters; one sister, Lynda M. Walters, all of Sarasota, FL. Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Stephen W. Kimbrel officiating. John Forgoth
John Forgoth, age 81, of Louisville, OH, passed away Saturday morning in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Hartville, OH, on August 16, 1920, he was a retired negotiator for the union at the Timken Co., retiring in 1983 after 42 years of service. He was affiliated with the Martindale Christian Fellowship Church and was a member of the Golden Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Rose Forgoth of the home, to whom he would have been married 50 years on July 4, 2002. There are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Manko III officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Martin C. Loftus
Dr. Martin C. Loftus, formerly of East Cleveland, OH, died December 19, 2000 at is residence at the Lakes at Litchfield, Pawleys Island, SC. Dr. Loftus was born March 18, 1912, in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Martin and Betsy Clements Loftus. His wife, Lella Case Loftus, preceded him in death in January 2000. Dr. Loftus who became an Eagle Scout in 1927, graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1934. He received his master's degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1941 and his doctor of optometry from Northern Illinois College of Optometry in 1949. A self-employed optometrist. Dr. Loftus had been a football coach at Shaw High in East Cleveland, as well as a teacher and later an administrator in the East Cleveland Public Schools. After leaving East Cleveland in the mid 70's, the Loftuses moved to Jackson Twp.. OH, until their move to Pawleys Island in 1998. Survivors include two sons, Gary M. Loftus and his wife, Kay Leigh Loftus of Surfside Beach, SC, Kevin W. Loftus and his wife, Lani K. Fukuzawa of Portland, OR; a daughter, Sheila Jean Loftus and her husband, James C. Eddinger of Washington, DC; a brother, George Loftus of Rocky River, OH; a sister, Mary Harris of Silver Spring, MD; six grandchildren, Barbara Jean Loftus, Mark T. Brazaitis, Sarah Jean Brazaitis, Kyle M. Loftus, Keith E. Loftus and Kate Morgan Loftus; and a great-granddaughter, Annabel Joy Brazaitis. Phyllis Kesserman, age 61, of Canton, died January 18, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center. born March 5, 1940 in Spencer, WV. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Grissom of Dalton and a son, Jerry Ray Dowell of canton and three grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Lupardus of Gandeeville, WV, Vickie Blouir of Massillon; four brothers, Ricky May of Arnoldsburg, WV, Dick May of Spencer, Gary May of Spencer, Tim of Spencer; many nieces and nephew. Preceded in death by her father and mother, Byrl and Mae May and one brother, Butch May. Rose E. Egert
Rose E. (Ringer) Egert, age 84, formerly of 1602-16th St. N.W., and more recently of the Chapel Hill Home, died Friday in Mercy Medical Center after an extended illness. She was a life resident of Canton. She was a life member of St. John's Catholic Church, and had done volunteer work for the Samaritan Table and the Arbors Nursing Home. Rose was preceded in death by her husbands, Virgil L. Ringer and Linus Egert, her son, Joseph E. Ringer, who died last Tuesday, her parents, Leo and Catherine Waechter Feicht and two brothers, Fr. Joseph Feicht and Paul Feicht. Survived by a daughter-in-law, Malinda Ringer of Canton; two grandchildren, Katie Ringer of New York City, and Joseph E. Ringer II of Canton; a brother, John Feicht of Sandusky, OH and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. in St. John's Catholic Church with her nephew, Fr. Thomas Flagmeier
Thomas H. Flagmeier, husband of the late Barbara (Beatty) Flagmeier, passed away December 22, 2001 while on a ski vacation in Whistler, British Columbia. Born April 3, 1918 in Pittsburgh, PA he moved to Canton, OH at an early age and graduated from McKinley High School Class of 1935. He was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran and worked for Ohio Can Crown in Massillon, OH until he returned to Pittsburgh in 1953 to work for Mobil Chemical Co. retiring in 1983 as sales manager of the Coatings Division. He was an avid golfer and skiier, being a long time member of Wildwood Country Club in Allison Park, where he won numerous championships over the years. He was also an excellent skiier and he and Barbara enjoyed yearly ski vacations to Colorado. Son of the late John V. and Evelyn Flagmeier. He leaves three sons, Clint (Barbara Jean) Bowman of South Windsor, CT, Thomas D. (Vangie) Flagmeier of San Antonio, TX and W. Terry Flagmeier of ElCajon, CA; seven grandchildren, Rebekka and Janine Bowman, Cheryl, David, Michael, Megan and Jessica Flagmeier; one great-grandchild, Christian; a sister, Zola Swanson of Canton, OH; a brother, William Flagmeier of Bethlehem, PA. Preceded in death by a brother, Jack Flagmeier; a sister, Dorothy McVehil; and an infant son, Mark Allen Flagmeier. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 20 at 11 a.m. at H.P.
