Beulah G. Dourm
Beulah G. Dourm, age 94, of Louisville, died Sunday morning August 12, 2001, at Aultman Hospital, Canton, following a long illness. Born in Beaver Falls, PA., July 11, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Ira Marquis and Ellzena (Dillon) Reisinger. She was a member of the Maximo Zion Church, the Louisville Chapter #400 Order of Eastern Star, and was an Associate Member of the Washington Township Ladies Club. Survivors include sons, Guy R. (Twila) Dourm of Paris; Robert E. (Beverly) Dourm of Beaver Falls, PA; daughters, Delores (Elden) Sluss of Paris; Charlotte E. Dourm of North Canton; Sandra K. Menegay of Louisville; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Guy Dourm in 1994; sisters, Iona Smith and Pearl Dourm; daughter, Rose Mary Rhodes; and granddaughter, Penny Dourm. Funeral services will be at the Bartley Funeral Home, Minerva, Wednesday, August 15, 2001 at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Ashbrook officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours at the Bartley Funeral Home Tuesday, August 14th., 4 to 8 p.m. Eastern Star services at 8 p.m.

Biaggio A. Schiavone
Biaggio A. Schiavone, age 76, of Canton, passed away Friday evening in Aultman Hospital after a brief illness. He was a life resident of Canton; he was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, and a member of the V.F.W. Floyd Hughes Post #693. He had served in the Army during World War II. He was an avid golfer. He is a retired employee of Commercial Motor Freight Co. having been employed for over 33 years as a Driver. He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Barnett) Schiavone, with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage on June 7, 2001; three sons and daughter - in - law, Joseph Schiavone and his fiance', Billie Brown of Canton, Rocco and Jeanette Schiavone of Atlanta, GA., David and Anna Schiavone of Canton; daughter, Mary Schiavone of Canton; a brother, Casimer Coke Messaris of Canton; five sisters, Lucy Schiavone, Mary Browning and Caroline Guarnieri all of Canton, Jeanette Papillo of Cleveland, Theresa Bell of Torrance, CA; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rocco and Victoria (Pirelli) Schiavone; a brother, Sam Messaris; and sister, Angeline Petro. Mass of Christian Burial will be sung Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Zuzik as Celebrant. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Maxine L. Weisburn
Maxine L. Weisburn, age 73, of Magnolia, passed away suddenly Friday morning in her residence. She was born in Casper, WY., a daughter of the late Elijah D. and Leona Beeson Flesher, and had resided in the Waynesburg-Magnolia area since 1953, coming here from West Virginia. Maxine was a former employee of The Timken Co., and also was a dispatcher for Quad Ambulance and the Fire Dept. for 20 years. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Waynesburg. Preceded in death by her husband, John E. Jack Weisburn on August 16, 1985. Survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Jim James, of Magnolia, Nancy Breitenstine, of Jackson Hole, WY., and Lisa and Tony Vissoc, of Waynesburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Kathy Weisburn, and Eric and Kay Weisburn, all of Waynesburg; one sister, Mrs. Martha Queen, of Weston, WV; one brother, Clinton Flesher, of Brewster, OH; and 14 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be sung on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. in St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Seifert as Celebrant. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 4-6 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Weisburn's memory may be made to St. James Catholic Church. Following the Mass and Burial Thursday evening, the family will receive friends at her home in Magnolia. The Finefrock - Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia is in charge of arrangements.
Phyllis C. Ziccardi
Phyllis C. (Mittica) Ziccardi, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2001, after an extended illness. Born February 14, 1920,to John and Mary Mittica, in Canton, Ohio. Preceded in death by her husband, Michael R. Ziccardi on February 26, 1980; and sisters, Rosemarie Mittica and Teresa Pandoli. Survivors include her son and caretaker, Michael A. Ziccardi and his wife, Paula A. of Massillon; grandson, Michael P. Ziccardi of Cleveland; and granddaughter, Anna M. Ziccardi of Columbus; sisters and brother-in-law, Josephine Monteleone, Mary Ginnetti, Connie and Eugene Lanzo; along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to all of her nieces and nephews and close friends who gave special attention and love during her illness. also, special thanks to Dr. Eyad Nashwati and Dr. Luis Martino who gave caring attention during her extended illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be sung Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church with Msgr. Frank Carfagna as Celebrant. Internment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Robert F. Fischer
Robert Frederick Fischer, age 73, of Malvern, died in his home, Saturday, August 11, 2001, following a short illness. Born in Turtle Creek, PA., April 27, 1928, he was the son of the late Frederick and Susanna (Davies) Fischer. He was a member of the United Church of Christ; and was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a retired salesman at Luria Brothers and Magnum Steel of Cleveland. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Connett) Fischer whom he married May 22, 1948; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Doug Williamson of Pittsburg, PA; son and daughter-in-law Robert S. and Christine Fischer of Malvern; daughter and son-in-law, Autumn and Bob Hurm of Batesville, IN; brother, Donald Fischer of Commerce, GA; two nephews; and 10 grandchildren. Private family services will be held Tuesday, August 14, 2001, with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday, (TODAY) August 13th., from 6-8 p.m. in the Deckman - Bartley Funeral home in Malvern, OH. Memorial donations may be made to the Lake Mohawk Christmas Lighting Fund.
Robert J. Woit
Robert J. Woit, age 79, of Canton, died Sunday morning in Aultman Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Son of the late Adolph and Ameila (Hoffman) Woit. He was a life resident of the Canton area; a 1940 graduate of Canton South High School. He is retired from the Bricklayers Union, Local #6; member of the First Lutheran Church, Canton; the Canton Lodge #60 F AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton. He was a World War II Army AirCorp Veteran, serving with the 315th Air Squadron. He is also preceded in death by two sisters, Helena Woit and Elsie Sommerville. He is survived by his wife, Marie M. (Caringi) to whom he was married 53 years; one daughter, Linda Woit of Canton; one brother and sister-in-law, Oscar and Margaret Woit of Massillon; one sister and brother-in-law, Ella and Raymond Widmer of Navarre; several nieces and nephews. Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the First Lutheran Church with Pastor George Keeler officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services at the church. Virgil P. Steinmetz
Virgil P. Chubby Steinmetz, age 86, of Canton, died Sunday morning at Aultman Hospital following a sudden illness. He was born February 8, 1915, in Howenstine, OH., the son of the late Emery and Ida Steinmetz. Preceded in death by his wife, Bernice, in January 2000; a son, Keith; sisters, Pauline Foltz and Lucile Yoder. Survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kim and Kimberly; special grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott, T.J. and Abby; a sister, Leahetta Yarger; a brother-in-law, Harry Foltz; a foster sister and her husband, Bea and Lewis Neihart; nieces, Susan Burgess, Cinda Wilson and Polly DePaola; and nephew, James Foltz; and special friends, Bob and Mildred Pero. He was a retired employee of Ohio Power, past long time member of the Canton Local Board of Education and the Canton South Lions Club. He was a member of First Christian Church, Pike Grange, Ohio Power Retirees and Canton South AARP. He was a volunteer for Stark County Meals on Wheels; and was an Army Veteran of World War II. Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Minister John Hampton officiating. Burial in Melscheimer Cemetery.
