Betty J. Keith
Betty J. Keith, age 83, formerly of Minerva Paris died Sunday morning Oct. 6, 2002 in the Canton Regency following a long illness. She was born July 16, 1919 in Canton to Carl Olga (Rushe) Kluge. She was a piano organ teacher for many years. A graduate of McKinley High School in 1937, she is a member of the Paris Israel Evangelical Lutheran Church where she had been the church organist, Sunday School teacher, choir member and member of the women of the church for many years. She is survived by her husband, Rolland T. Keith who she married Dec. 11, 1949; two daughters, Carol A. Keith of Atlanta, GA and Jean M. Stevenson of Akron; two sons, Thomas L. wife, Patricia Keith of Paris and Donald L. Keith of Green; three sisters, Dorothy Weaver of Canton, Beulah Thompson of Waynesburg and Pauline Rudersmith of Sun City West, AZ; four grandchildren, Tracy Weller, Thomas Keith Jr., Brian Keith and William Stevenson and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wed. at 1:00 p.m. in the Paris Israel Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Gerhardt Mengers officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the church building fund.
Daniel J. McGurren
Daniel J. McGurren, age 84 of Canton, passed away Friday October 4, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center. Born in Wellsville Ohio. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army where he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. A retired mail handler of the US Postal Service after 27 years of service. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a life member of the DAV St. Mihiel Chapter 6. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Cecelia McGurren, two brothers, Edward and William T. McGurren. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean McGurren; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Scott Watterson of Canton; a son, Kevin McGurren of Hollywood, FL; two grandchildren, Ann Marie Watterson and Brian Watterson; a sister, Sarah Norcia of Canton; also numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Msgr. Frank Carfagna. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the Welch-Sekeres-Lewis, Funeral Home.

Harold W. Ross
Harold W. Ross, 72, of Bolivar, died Saturday, October 5, 2002 in Union Hospital after a brief illness. He was retired from the Timken Company at Canton where he had worked for 44 years as a Straddle-Truck driver. He is survived by his wife, the former Jane Dawson, whom he wed on November 8, 1950. Other survivors include, five children; nine grandchildren and seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 9, at 11:00 a.m. in the Dover Baptist Temple with Rev. Christopher Rhodes officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside rites. Martha J. Davidson 82 of Canton, died Saturday, October 5, 2002 in Mercy Medical Center. Born in Augusta Twp., OH she had lived in Canton for the past 61 years. Martha was an active member of the Christ Presbyterian Church serving as an Elder and Sunday school teacher for many years, also member of Rachel Circle, Mended Hearts Club, AEP Retiree's Club. Preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Davidson in 1996 and brother, Cary Manfull. Survivors include daughter, Caroline Davidson of Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Carl W. (Gloria) Davidson of North Canton, OH; three grandchildren, Kevin, Craig and Kurt; three sisters, Margaret Van Fossen of Minerva, OH, Pearl Briceland of Summitville, OH and Sarah Tamper of Houston, TX; two brothers, Robert and Corky Manfull both of Minerva. Funeral services will be Wednesday 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Christ Presbyterian Church Interment to follow in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Radio Ministry of Christ Presbyterian Church, 530 Tuscarawas St. W.
