Aaron Steven Walters, infant boy, passed away Friday, September 13, 2002. He is survived by his parents, Steven and Kelly Walters; grandparents, Jeff and Brenda Weirich, Donna Sokol and Ed and Debbie Sokol. Private family services were held.

Betty A. Davis
Betty A. Davis. A graveside service will be held Monday, Sept. 16, at North Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Donald G. Baird officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be made to North Canton EMS Squadman's Assoc., PO Box 2371, North Canton, OH 44720.

Brandon J. Mohn
Brandon James Mohn, 16, of Minerva died Friday, September 13, 2002 from injuries sustained in a four wheeler accident. Born in Canton, August 16, 1986, he was the son of Gene and Deborah (McCrobie) Mohn Jr. He was a student at Minerva High School. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Jessica and Jeremy Weikart; grandmother, Elsie Hart of Minerva; grandparents, Ellen and Gene Mohn, Sr. of Minerva; and nephew, Adrian Weikart. Funeral services will be held in the Bartley Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2002 with Mr. John Bush officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Charles Ed Brandstetter. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2002 in Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. John M. Mann officiating. Friends will be received following the service. Charles F. Bender. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Karlo Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Gaye Santoro officiating. Burial will be in North Canton Cemetery. Eugene Dykes
Eugene William Bill Dykes. Memorial service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Patricia Lee officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. There will be no burial as his wishes were to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to an organization of your choice.

James Guthridge
James D. Guthridge, age 71, of North Canton, died Thursday afternoon in his home after a brief illness. Born in Youngstown, son of the late Edgar W. Guthridge, Jr. and Louise Davies Guthridge, he graduated from Chaney High School and Youngstown University with a degree in engineering in 1966 after 13 years of night school. He was a resident of North Canton since 1968, retiring from Berger Division of Republic Storage Systems. Survived by his wife, Pat of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa J. and Gary M. Hessman of North Canton; sons and daughters-in-law, David B. of Dayton, Daniel J. and Jane G. of Denver, James J. and his fiancee, Julie Tweedy, Timothy D. and Lisa H., Casey and Christine S., all of North Canton; ten grandchildren; sister, Joan (William D.) Jones of Columbiana, OH. Preceded in death by his grandson, Timothy D. in 1989. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Karlo Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Msgr. James A. Clarke officiating. Burial will be in North Canton Cemetery. Jessie Lewis Brown
Jessie Lewis Brown, 25, of Minerva, died Thursday, September 12, 2002. Born in Alliance, August 2, 1977, he was the son of Lewis E. Brown of Minerva and Dianna (Cole) Walton of Mathis, TX. He was a self-employed carpenter. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Paige Brown of the home; Paige's mother Shannon Brown of Minerva; sisters, Shanda Brown of Malvern, Courtney and Emilee Brown of Mathis, TX; grandparents, Glenn and Linda Brown of Minerva, Denzil and Betty Cole of Magnolia, Jerry and Barbara Merville of Louisville and Phyllis Jackson of Mathis, TX; great-grandparents, Frank and Peggy Cole of Mathis, TX. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Jackson. Funeral services will be held in the Bartley Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 18, 2002 with Rev. James Huston officiating. Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home, Tuesday from 2-4 7-9 p.m.

John A. Miller
John A. Miller, age 63, of Louisville, went home to be with the Lord Friday afternoon. He was born on July 11, 1939, in rural Holmes County and had resided in the Canton - Louisville area most of his life. He owned and operated the 76 Service Station at West Tusc. and Raff Road for 20 years and then was employed by Transport International Pool. He was currently the owner of J J Distributors. John was a member of the Church of God of Uhrichsville; member and Past Master of Trinity Lodge 710 F AM; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, 32nd Degree, Valley of Canton; and he was an avid bowler and golfer. Most importantly, John was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Mary Ann Miller; and grandson, Richard Miller. He is survived by his wife, Joyce M. (Addessi) Miller, to whom he was married for 22 years; his sons, Douglas (Pam) Miller of North Canton, John Miller of Canton; daughter, Lori (Todd) Scott of Las Vegas, NV; stepsons, David (Kristi) Keister of Apple Creek, OH., John (Cheryl) Keister of Canton; stepdaughters, Christy (Cleve) Trump of Canton, Mary Keister of Louisville and Katherine (John) Haslam of Canton; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Eli A. Miller and Earl Miller, both of New Philadelphia and Dan A. Miller of Beach City, OH; sister, Mary A. Ollis of Uhrichsville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Reed Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Members of Trinity Lodge will conduct a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m. Monday evening.

Leslie L. Gadd
Leslie L. Gadd, 52, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2002. He was born December 23, 1949, in Warren, OH, the son of Sam and Janet (Younker) Gadd. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Gadd was owner of Custom Weld Corp. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; mother and stepfather, Janet and Ferrell Sherouse; children, Marshall, Christopher, Zachary Taff and Tom Greening; sisters, Karen and Darlene; brother, Larry Foreman; granddaughter, Stacy Jo; and great-grandchild, Kylle. A memorial gathering will be 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, September 17 at Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home, 2257 Mahoning NE, Canton.

Merriam E. Witham
Merriam E. Witham, age 83, of North Canton, passed away Saturday morning, September 14, 2002 in Aultman Hospital. She was born August 18, 1919 in Roseville, Ohio to Lafayette and Hulda (Harble) Myers. Merriam was a graduate of Hoover High School and the Aultman Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Department at Aultman Hospital. Mrs. Witham was an active member of Christ Presbyterian Church where she helped start the Nursery program. She was also a member of AARP and had modeled clothing for several former downtown area department stores. Her husband, Stewart P. Witham preceded her in death on April 1, 1995. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, W. Todd and Joy Witham of Bolivar; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Jean Myers of Bismark, South Dakota; grandchildren, Steve and Tim Witham of Bolivar. Also preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Spezzi and Fran Williams. Funeral services will be Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Rusty Cowden officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to YMCA Camp Tippecanoe, 8100 YMCA Rd., Tippecanoe, Ohio 44699.

Minnie L. Whitman
Minnie L. Whitman, age 90, of Bolivar, OH formerly of North Canton, died Tuesday September 10, 2002 in Union Hospital, Dover, OH, following a long illness. She was born June 30, 1912 in Marion, OH, to the late Luke and Clara (Donahoe) Crawford. She was a homemaker all of her life. She was a member of the Church of The Holy Trinity, Zoar, OH and the Woman's Club of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Whitman in 1991, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her children, Joanne Whitman, North Canton, OH, Thomas Whitman, Bolivar, OH, Judith Hill, San Diego, CA, Timothy J. Whitman, Strasburg, OH and Joseph W. and wife, Susan Whitman, Rome, NY; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held September 17, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of The Holy Trinity, 1835 Dover-Zoar Rd NE, Zoar, OH. Calling hours will be Tuesday 10 a.m. to time of service at the church with Fr. Mike Nimocks. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Strasburg, OH. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. 3rd St., Dover, OH 44662.

Ozell A. Schultheis
Ozell A. Rosie Schultheis, age 79, of Canton, died Friday after a brief illness. Born in Livingston, TN., she was raised in Akron but lived most of her life in Canton. She was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Schultheis; a son, Robert W. Schultheis II; and a brother, Cecil Carter. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Jerry Brown of Eagan, MN; son, Jack Schultheis of Canton; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane and Al Henneman of Cuyahoga Falls; brother and two sisters-in-law, James and Edith Carter of Akron and Elsie Carter of Ft. Wayne, IN; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the Lamiell Funeral Home with Rev. Nelson Carter officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Monday from 12-1 p.m. in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Rosalie A. Brewer
Rosalie A. Brewer, age 72, of Navarre, Ohio, died Saturday morning at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born April 18, 1930 in Barton, Ohio, the daughter of Cecil and Winona (Cunningham) Applegarth. She was a retired secretary in the Maintenance Department of Akron General Medical Center with 30 years service and was a life time member of Amvets Post #12 in Massillon, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a husband, Frank Dancic in 1987; three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include husband, Paul E. Brewer; daughters, Terri Coberly, of Massillon and Dawn Micki Moore, of Navarre; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Norma Smith of Canton; son, Michael Smith of Orrville; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Smith Applegarth of Pleasant Grove, Ohio. Services will be Tuesday, 3:00 p.m. with Evangelist Glenn E. Hawkins officiating at Atkinson-Feucht-Shaidnagle in Massillon. Calling hours are Monday 6-9 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation will follow the funeral services. Burial of the human cremains will be in Union Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Family suggests contributions to National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Community Hospice.

Samuel J. Moldovan
Samuel John (Johnnie) Moldovan. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton with Fr. Joseph Rudjak officiating. Friends may call Sunday (today) 5-7 p.m. in the Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sam's memory to The Clinton Community Band, c/o John and Jan Ulmer, 10 B. St., Canal Fulton, OH 44614.

Walter H. Butch Einstein Jr.
Walter H. Butch Einstein, Jr., age 50, of East Canton, passed away Saturday morning, September 14, 2002, in Aultman Hospital following courageous five month battle with cancer. He was born May 8, 1952, in Canton, to the late Walter and Marie Einstein Sr. He attended St. Joseph's Grade School; and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970, during which time he earned his Eagle Scout Award in the Boy Scouts. He attended and graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1973. He was a former 22 year employee of Walsh University, leaving as the Director of Communications, due to illness. Outside of home, work and travel he had a passion for carnivals, owning several concession stands. He is survived by his wife, Debra, with whom he celebrated 20 years of marriage this past February; daughters, Michelle Uplinger of Canton, Melissa and Melanie Einstein both of the home; a son, Matthew Uplinger of Canton; grandchildren, Hanna and Christen. He leaves behind many dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Zamary as Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Clements Cemetery in Navarre. Friends may call Tuesday 6-9 p.m. in the Don Williams Funeral Home.

Wray V. Snider
Wray V. Snider, age 70, of Hartville, passed away Thursday evening, September 12, 2002 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in East Canton, Ohio on February 4, 1932 to the late Ellsworth and Minnie (VonAlman) Snider. He was the owner of Wray Snider Construction. He was an Army Korean Conflict Veteran and attended Cornerstone Free Methodist Church. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed gardening and outdoors. Preceded in death by his grandson, Rueben Wray Nichols; three sisters, Irene Rollins, Pearl Snider, and June Steward; and six brothers, Ellsworth, Earl, Delbert, Jake, Bob, and Elden Snider. He is survived by his wife of 49 1/2 years, Beverly; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and James Nichols of Massillon, and Denise and Steve McCutcheon of Hartville; sister, Rita Meiser of East Canton; grandchildren, James II and Mary Nichols, Corine Nichols, and Stephen and Joshua McCutcheon; great-grandchildren, Sabrina, and Logan. Friends may call Monday 6-9:00 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home, Hartville and 1/2 hour prior to services in the church on Tuesday (10:30-11:00AM). Funeral services will be Tuesday 11:00 AM in the Cornerstone Free Methodist Church, 578 Killian Rd., Akron, with Rev. Charles Young officiating. Final Resting Place is Mount Peace Cemetery.

Michael (Micky) Datsko
Michael Datsko (Micky), 60 of the City of Green passed away Sept. 11, 2002 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and was an active member of both The Goodyear Zeppelin and Canton McKinley Rifle and Pistol Clubs. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; sons Michael and David; sisters, Diana Falke and Nancy Lee (Keith) Cline; brother, John; mother-in-law, Ida E. Goldman and many other friends and family. He was loved by all. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at the Schermesser Funeral Home, City of Green Chapel, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., (Route 619). Calling hours will be Tues. 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.

Deacon Edward Mack
Deacon Edward Mack, passed away on Sept. 12, 2002 at Aultman Hospital. He was born in Barbour County, AL, and had lived in this community for over 40 years. He was a Deacon at Mt. Calvary Second Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish memories to daughter, Mildred Baxter of Clio, AL; step children, Macey (Valerie) Hardin and Bridget Mize both of Akron; sister-in-law, Louise Cotton of Canton; a host of grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at 12 Noon at Mt. Calvary Second Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery.
