Dr. Charles E. Guscott. Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in First Friends Church of Canton, 5455 Market Ave. N., with Pastors Mark Engle and James Mason, visitation minister of Sugarcreek Free Methodist Church. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the church Wednesday (today) from 3-6 p.m. and one hour prior to the service (10-11 a.m.) Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Guscott Endowed Scholarship Fund at Malone College, 515 25th St. NW, Canton, OH 44709. Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Edna Cunningham
Edna A. Cunningham, age 84, of Canton, OH, passed away Monday evening in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Bergholz, OH in Jefferson County, on April 5, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Gordon C. and Edith (Brown) Rodgers. She was a 1937 graduate of Bergholz High School and a graduate of the Canton Actual Business College. She lived the first 21 years of her life in Bergholz, moving to Canton in 1939 and was a retired employee of the Timken Co., retiring in 1958 after 18 years of service. She was a member of the Golden Lodge and the Bergholz United Methodist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Cunningham and two sisters, Rev. Leona M. Rodgers and Zelma Wiblin. Survivors include a stepson, Robert Cunningham and stepdaughter, Betty Shimko; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the Bergholz United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Bergholz Cemetery. Calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home Wednesday (tonight) 7-8 p.m. and one hour before the services at the church in Bergholz on Thursday 10:30-11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Grace R. Noon
Grace R. Noon, age 92, Monday, September 9, 2002 in Mansfield, OH. Born July 2, 1910 in Yates, Michigan. Longtime resident of Canton, OH. Preceded in death by husband, Paul (1971). Member of League of Women's Voters, Church Women United, NOW and St. Michael's Ladies Guild. Survived by son, Christopher Noon, Mansfield; grandson, Patrick Noon, Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday 9:30-10:30 a.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. Broad St. Mass of Christian Burial Friday 11:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel, 6440 S. High St. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery.

Irene Huryn
Irene Huryn. Funeral services will be held Thursday 9:30am at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd., and 10:00am at St. Paul Catholic Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home where a Ladies Guild Rosary will be held Wednesday 7:30pm. Donations may be made to the House of Loreto, 2812 Harvard Ave. NW, Canton 44709.

Julius H. Gaskell
Julius H. Gaskell, 83, formerly of Canton died September 5, 2002 in Daytona Beach, FL. He was born and raised in Canton and moved to Florida in 1965. Julius was a retired postal worker. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Pearl Harbor. Preceded in death by his son, Julius Jr. He is survived by one brother, Oliver Gaskell of Canton; son Timothy of Orlando, FL; two daughters, Denise Metzger of Orange City, FL., and Rhonda Cunningham of Orlando, FL. Also survived by three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Julius will be Remember in prayer at the lunchtime rosary, 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday September 11, 2002 in the Chapel at St. Raphael Center, 4365 Fulton Dr., NW, in Canton. Friends are welcome.

Lela M. Steineck
Lela M. (Yochum) Steineck, age 91, of Sebring, OH, formerly of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2002, at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. She was born in Robertsville, OH, Nov. 8, 1910, to the late Adam and Elmira (Neidig) Yochum. She was a former employee of Kresge's Dept. Store, the Louisville Herald and Louisville City Hall. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Louisville where she was organist for many years, Gideon Auxiliary and was a charter member of the former Louisville Senior Womens Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Steineck Jr. in 1952, two sisters, Mary Haines and Della Yochum, a brother, William Yochum. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Virgil Springer of Sebring; a niece and nephew, and great-nieces and nephews. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Minerva United Methodist Church, Minerva, OH. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Stier-Israel Funeral Home of Louisville and one hour before services on Friday at the church. Interment will be in Robertsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon's International, the Hand Bell choir of the Minerva United Methodist Church or the Life Care Fund at Copeland Oaks Retirement Home in Sebring.

Llewellyn R. Watkins
Llewellyn Lew R. Watkins, age 92, of Massillon, OH, died Sept. 9, 2002 at Altercare Nursing Home in Canton, OH. Born in Lansford, PA on March 25, 1910, he was a resident of Pottsville, PA until 1982. He retired in 1975 from Alcoa Cressona Works, having worked for the company 29 years as an overhead crane operator. A veteran of W.W. II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre. Preceded in death by his wife, Violet Watkins in 1990, parents, Llewellyn and Jennie (Jones) Watkins; sister, Elizabeth Madden; brother, Tom Watkins. He was a member of the English Congregational Church. Survived by a son, Lew Watkins of Schuylkill Haven, PA; step daughter, Sonia Y. Meck of Massillon, OH; brothers, Vernon Watkins of Jackson, MO and Jiggs Watkins of Lansford, PA. Services will be graveside Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Schuylkill Memorial Park in Schuylkill Haven, PA with Donald Beck, Pastor of Jerusalem Lutheran Church officiating. Friends and family are welcome to attend.

Mabel L. Dawson
Mabel L. Dawson age 86 of Alliance, died at 6:31 a.m. September 10, 2002 at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Steubenville, OH, on Aug. 15, 1916, a daughter of Oliver and Margaret Headley, she lived in the Alliance area most of her life. A graduate of Alliance High School, she was a homemaker who also had her own hair salon at her home. She married James G. Dawson Feb. 28, 1942. Mrs. Dawson was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Jill (Bruce) Barker of Carrollton; a son, James (Jamie) Dawson Jr. of Akron; grandchildren, Michelle Burda of Burke, Virginia, Bruce A. Barker of Westfield, NY, and Bradley Barker of Carrollton; and two great-grandchildren. Her parents, husband, brother, Byron Headley and a sister, Sarah Nuttall, preceded Mrs. Dawson in death. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairmount Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4916 Hills and Dales Rd. NW, Canton OH 44708. Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 South Union Avenue Alliance, Ohio.

Mary H. Acker
Mary H. Acker, age 84, of Canton, died Monday, September 9, 2002, in her home. She was a graduate of McKinley High School with the class 1935. She retired from the Hoover Company after 28 years of service and also worked at Stern and Mann's before it closed. Mary was a long time member of the Church of the Lake, United Methodist. Her favorite pastime was painting portraits and other subject matter. She is survived by her son, Richard H. Acker of Canton; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Alma and Ross Hurford. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Karlo Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Bryan George officiating. Friends may call Thursday evening 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice, 4510 Dressler Rd. NW, Canton, OH 44718-2546.

Mike Domenico
Mike Domenico, age 89, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2002, at Green Meadows Nursing Home. A lifetime resident of Canton. He was a Veteran of World War II serving on the U.S.S. Houston in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired Shear Operator of Diebold, Inc., also a former Manager of the College Bowl bowling alley; a former employee of Hercules Engines, and New Core Steel. A member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He was a professional bowler on the PBA Tour; the Akron media named Mike as one of their all time great bowlers; an Enshrinee of the Greater Canton Bowling Assoc. Hall of Fame; also an avid golfer; and loved to joke around. Preceded in death by his wife, Aurelia I. Domenico; parents, Sammuel and Florence (Antenuci) Domenico; three brothers, Steve, Carl and John Domenico. Survived by nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday 9:30 a.m. at the Welch-Sekeres-Lewis Funeral Home. Rev. Joseph Zamary will officiate. Burial at Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
