Albert Calabrese, Sr.
Albert Raymond Calabrese, Sr, age 87, of Canton, died Thursday morning in Aultman Hospital. A life resident of Canton, he was retired from the Timken Co. after 37 years of service. He was a World War II Army veteran. Albert was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Edgewood Golf Club, and the Oldtimers Bowling League at Embassy Lanes. Preceded in death by his wife, Anna Calabrese, who died in 1996. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Harry Cotsmire of Canton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert Raymond, Jr. and Donna Calabrese, and Thomas and Charlene Calabrese, all of Uniontown, OH; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Angeline Moauro and Josephine and John Cobett, all of Canton; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Ronald Klingler as celebrant. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Friday (tonight) 7-9 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. St. John's Guild will have a service Friday at 6:45 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.

Alice R. Kaiser
Alice R. Guist-Griffith-Kaiser, died Wednesday. Arrangements are pending at Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home.

Bernice Garrett
Bernice (DeCamp) Garrett, age 83, passed away at Desert Rose Elder Care in Twenty Nine Palms, CA on July 1.. Formerly of Canton, she attended Clarendon Ave. Elementary School, Lincoln Jr. High School and graduated with the Class of 1936 from McKinley High School, and had attended Canton Actual Business College. She was employed in the offices of Timken Roller Bearing Co., Kobacker's Dept. Store, and Arnold Construction. Moving to California, she and her husband, Boyce L. Bill Garrett operated the Stables at Arrowhead Springs Spa in San Bernardino, CA. Moving to North Hollywood, she was employed at Hollywood-Maxwell and Dukes Inc. A music lover she was an accomplished organist and pianist and belonged to the Organ Club in Van Nuys, CA and was a past officer in the Foresters. Preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Vinton DeCamp; her husband, Boyce L. Garrett. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Donald Leverington II; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. After graveside services she was interred in Montecido Memorial Park in Colton, CA. Goodbye dear old friend of 76 years, Rest in Peace.

Carmen Franscone
Carmen Franscone, age 92, of Canton, passed away Thursday. Arrangements are pending with the Rossi Funeral Home.

Charles F. Houser
Charles F. Houser, age 51, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at the Wade Park V.A. Hospital in Cleveland. He was born May 12, 1951, in Canton, OH. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #548 of Louisville and the Louisville Eagles Aerie #2374. He was preceded in death by his father, Lindbergh A. Houser. He is survived by three daughters; his mother, Martha (Blackledge) Houser of the home and her companion, Ted Ferguson of Louisville; a sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Duane Batdorff of Louisville; a brother, Gary Houser of Acworth, GA; five grandchildren; his grandmother, Betsey Blackledge of Malvern; three nieces, Staci, Lindsey, and Alison Batdorff; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friends, Greg Seaman and Tommy Smith. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the Stier-Israel Funeral Home of Louisville with Rev. Carl Kandel officiating. The family will receive friends 12 noon-1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.

Dorothy M. Moyer
Dorothy M. Moyer, age 81, of Canton, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2002, at Altercare of Canton after an extended illness. She was born in Amsterdam, OH., and was a 1938 graduate of Amsterdam High School and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Amsterdam. She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Bud Moyer; parents, Ross and Beulah Drake; three brothers, George, Bud and Ernie Drake; three sisters, Pearl Myzk, Mildred McEwen and Juanita Moore. She is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Catherine and Clifton Smith of Louisville, Marge Vincent of Canton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday 2 p.m. at the Welch-Sekeres - Lewis Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Todd will officiate. Burial at North Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday afternoon at the funeral home starting at 1 p.m. until time of services.

Ida Buzza
Ida Buzza. Calling hours will be on Friday (tonight), August 16, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Karlo Sons Funeral Home, North Canton. A life celebration service will be held on Saturday, August 17 at 10 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in North Canton with Revs. Larry Morrison, Irwin Jennings and David Cowles officiating. Interment to follow in North Lawn Cemetery, Canton. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 300-9th St. NW, North Canton, OH 44720 or the American Cancer Society, 925 S. Main St., North Canton, OH 44720.

Jorj E. Nennig
Jorj E. Nennig, age 14, of E. Canton, died Wednesday afternoon in Akron Children's Hospital. He was a life resident of the E. Canton area, where he attended E. Canton Middle School and was active in the Hornet Baseball and Football Programs and had participated in the School Choir. Member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, where he was active with the church youth group. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ervin and Esther Nennig; maternal grandfather, John S. Myers and one uncle, John Myers. Survived by his parents, Allen and Sharon Nennig of E. Canton; one brother and sister-in-law, Allen R. and Gina Nennig, Jr. of Uniontown; one sister, Kim Nennig of Zoar; maternal grandmother, Pauline Grindle and her companion, Carl Andric both of Lisbon; one niece, Tori Trachel and one nephew, Bryce Nennig; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in E. Canton with Rev. David S. Reed officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Sunday 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, 108 E. Walnut St., E. Canton, OH 44730.

Mary Amendola
Mary Amendola, 82, of Sun City, AZ (formerly from Canton, OH) passed away August 14, 2002. She was born August 17, 1919 in Roswell, OH. She was a devoted, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Phil, to whom she was married for 60 years; daughters, Jeanine Amendola, Mary Ann Angelo; grandsons, John Angelo (Amy), Tony Angelo (Tina) all of Arizona. Visitation Friday, August 16, 2002 6-9 p.m. at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City. Services Saturday, August 17, 2002 10 a.m. at St. Helen's Catholic Church, 5510 W. Cholla, Glendale. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Avondale.

Maxine Mae Huber
Maxine Mae Huber. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Dr. Stanley Wallace officiating. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home one hour before services on Saturday, 12-1 p.m.

Pruedence Palmer
Pruedence Palmer, age 70, of Canton, died Thursday morning in Mercy Medical Center. Arrangements are pending with the Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home.

Thelma P. Touvell
Thelma P. Touvell. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home Friday 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday from 10-11 a.m.

William C. Reed
William C. Reed. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Tuersley officiating. Burial will be in the Haywood Cemetery in West Middlesex, PA. There will be calling hours at the funeral home on Friday evening 6-8 p.m.

Willie B. Kimble
Willie B. Kimble, age 73, of Canton, passed away Aug 12, 2002. Funeral services to be announced.

Kathleen Bucci
Kathleen Estelle Bucci, beloved mother and friend. Born in Canton, OH. On April 9, 1915, passed away at Country Lawn Nursing Home on August 14, 2002, after a brief illness. A graduate of Mount Marie Academy (Central Catholic High School) and a lifelong resident of Canton, she was retired from the Stark County Board of Education. She also enjoyed many years of service with the Stark County Fair Board. She was a parishioner of St. Peter's Catholic Church for many years. She was selfless in her devotion to her family and always had a smile for her friends. Preceded in death by her parents, William and Louise (Baushka) Lehnis, her beloved husband, Anthony A. Bucci, a son, Terry A. Bucci, and a sister, Mary Louise (Tootie) Wilson. Survived by her daughter, Judy A. Bucey of New York City; her son, Todd A. Bucey of the residence; her brother and sister-in-law, Karl and Sally Lehnis of Canton; a niece, Holly Maust of Anderson, IN and a nephew, Kevin Lehnis of Canton. Private services will be held today in Calvary Cemetery. Thank you God, for letting us know her. She will be missed. The Lamiell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Elmer E. Moore
Elmer E. Moore, age 83, of Northeast Canton, passed away Wednesday afternoon in Aultman Hospital after a six week illness. Born March 10, 1919 in Belmont County, OH and had lived in our area since 1946. Employed as a machine operator and in design drafting for Bliss Manufacturing, Weber Dental and Manpower and a truck driver for Nickles Bakery, all of Canton. Member of Crystal Park Wesleyan Church of Canton. An Army World War II veteran, where he received the European African Middleeastern Service Medal with five bronze stars. Preceded in death by his parents, Early Franklin and Bessie Antil Moore; his wife, Martha (Sickafoose) Moore, April 30, 2001; great grandson, Jonathan Gray. Survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, June and Daniel Gray of Westchester, OH, Shirley Moore of Canton, Betty and Larry White of Chatsworth, GA; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and JoAnn Moore of Canton, Donald Moore of Bolivar, Eddy and Georgia Moore of Canton; one sister, Metta Eddy of Scio, OH; two brothers, Charles Moore of Brilliant, OH and Sheldon Moore of Mobile, AL; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one step-grandson. Funeral services Monday at 1 p.m. in the Crystal Park Wesleyan Church with Rev. Earl Fields officiating. Friends may call Sunday 5-8 p.m. in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home. Burial in Sunset Hills Burial Park. The family requests memorial tributes to Crystal Park Wesleyan Church.
