Anne C. Metzger
Anne C. Metzger, age 84, of Massillon, died Saturday morning Aug. 10, 2002 at Laurels of Massillon. She was born June 11, 1918, in Binghamton, NY, and had resided in Canton most of her life. She had worked as a Draftsman at AEP, Ohio Power Co., for 22 years, retiring in 1990. She also was an aircraft engine inspector at Wright Patterson Airforce base during World War II. She attended Calvary Chapel Church in Jackson Twp. Survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Nancy Metzger of Baltimore, MD, John and Colleen Metzger of Massillon, Wilford and Cindi Metzger of Las Vegas, NV; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and John O'Hara of Dover, PA; sister, Liz and Carl Benesch of Binghamton, NY; brother, Frank Milensky of Binghamton, NY; three granddaughters, Jeri Metzger, Kristen Metzger and Rachel Metzger. Preceded in death by mother, Anna (Kupera) Chmielewsky; father, Frank Chmielewsky; daughter, Anne Metzger, in 1946; brother, Frank Chmielewsky; sister, Josephine Chmielewsky. Memorial services will be in Calvary Chapel, located on the corner of Stuhldreher and Wales (#241), on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Sanders officiating. There will be no calling hours. Memorial may be made to Calvary Chapel Building Fund, 8151 Stuhldreher St. NW, Massillon, OH 44646.

Eric Bradford Taylor. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at The House of the Lord, 1650 Diagonal Road, Akron, OH, Pastor Eugene Norris officiating. Interment Mt. Peace Cemetery. Mozella L. Maley
Mozella L. Maley, age 70, of Canton, passed away early Tuesday morning at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 20, 1932 in Knox County, KY and had lived in the Canton area most her life. Member of Crystal Park Wesleyan Church of Canton. Preceded in death by her parents, Leamon L. and Theresa (Epperson) Hammons; stepmother, Dicie Hammons; two brothers, Claude and Walter Hammons. Survived by husband, Harley L. Jr., whom she married Oct. 9, 1954; two daughters, Beverly and son-in-law, Frank Wilmoth of Barberton, Cynthia Rothacher and her companion, Robert Young of Sherrodsville, OH; six sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Carol, Randall and Cindy, William and Rae Lynn, John and Sandy, Kenneth and Claude, all of Canton; sister and brother-in-law, Axie and Bill Corey; brother, Wendall L. Hammons, all of Flat Lick, KY; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Crystal Park Wesleyan Church with Rev. Earl Fields officiating. Friends may Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Randall W. Carrico
Randall W. Carrico, 50, of Manchester, died Monday, August 12, 2002, at Aultman Hospital, Canton. He was a 1971 graduate of Northwest High School. He was a painter with Novak and Sons. and member of Painter's Local #867, Cleveland. Preceded in death by father, Wade E. Carrico. Randy is the loving and devoted husband to his wife of 14 years, Vickie Lynn (Gillis) Carrico; loving father to his children, Stacy Lee Carrico of Chicago, IL, Golda Lee, Randy Wade, Emma Lynn and Spencer Keith Carrico, all of the home; son of Dora (Swiger) Carrico; brother to Sandra S. (Tom) Filliez and Tom (Brenda) Carrico, all of Massillon; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services Friday 11 a.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton) with Pastor Tom Klaserner officiating. Burial in Union Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made in care of the children at First Merit Bank, Manchester.

Velma R. Allen
Velma R. (Mohn) Allen, age 79, was called by the Lord on July 24, 2002. She passed away in her sleep at Hummingbird Care Center in Hesperia, CA. She was born January 10, 1923 in Canton, OH to George H. and Minnie E. (Siegfried) Mohn. Velma attended St. John's and Summit Grade Schools and was graduated from Timken High School in 1941 and moved to California in 1945 with her husband and daughter. For many years Velma was Accounts Payable Supervisor for U.S. Elevator in Spring Valley, CA, while living in Lakeside and San Diego. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Sirk, and her second husband, James Allen. Velma is survived by her daughter, Pamela M. Sirk of Hesperia, CA; and her sister and brother-in-law, Marie F. (Mohn) and jack R. Dougherty of Louisville, OH; many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canton and vicinity. Interment was in Hesperia Cemetery, CA. A Memorial Mass for Velma will b read at 9 a.m. in St. John's Catholic Church Chapel on September 13. Willard C. DeLauder
Willard Cline DeLauder, age 74, of Canton, passed away Monday evening, August 12, 2002 in St. Luke Lutheran Home. He was born February 3, 1928 in Belington, WV to Gay and Grace (Hardway) DeLauder and has been a Canton resident since 1960. Willard was a retired press operator for Canton Drop Forge, was a member of the Steelworkers union and had previously worked for BO Railroad and Phillipi Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Annabell; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Shaw of Canton, Judy and Dale George of Louisville, Barbara and David Dillon of Canton; sisters, Sara Grace DeLauder of Doylestown, Lola Moore of Barberton; brothers, Millard DeLauder of Doylestown, Harold DeLauder of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Shannon and Shawn Shaw, Matt and Steve Dillon; great grandchildren, Michael Dillon, Madison and Zachary Shaw. Funeral services will be Friday 1:00 p.m. in the Arnold Funeral Home with Dr. Robert E. Buckley offficiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service (11-1:00 p.m.).
William W. Green
William W. Green, age 70, went home to be with the Lord on August 11, 2002. Mr. Green was born October 15, 1931 to Roy and Lucy Green in Canton, OH. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1949 and served in the US Marine Corps from 1949 through 1953. He participated in the capture and seizure of Seoul and assault and seizure of Inchon. He fought against enemy forces in South and Central Korea. He received the Korean Service Ribbon and a good conduct medal. In 1953 he received an honorable discharge with a rank of Sergeant from the U.S. Marines. In 1970 he moved to Fort Myers, Florida, and has been employed at Gulf Coast Village for the past eight years. He was a member of New Testament Baptist Church. Mr. Green is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, of 48 years; his three children, Rhonda (Wayne) Carmichael of Jacksonville, Thomas (Jennie) Green of Cape Coral and Rebecca Cheshire of North Fort Myers; his two sisters, Donna (Don) Slagle of Minerva, Ohio and Myrna Slagle of Canton, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Jason Green, Cling Green, SPC John B. Cheshire, Gwen Carmichael, PFC Ryan Cheshire, Emily Carmichael and Elizabeth Carmichael. In addition he is survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. visitation will be held at New Testament Baptist Church on Friday, August 16, 2002, at 11 a.m., Dr. Jim Ellis, senior pastor, will officiate church services at 12:00 noon followed by graveside services at Lee Memorial Park in Garden of Peace at 1:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.
