Anne C. Metzger
Anne C. Metzger, age 84, of Massillon, died Saturday morning at the Laurels of Massillon. She was born June 11, 1918, in Binghamton, NY, and had resided in Canton most of her life. She was retired from Ohio Power and attended Calvary Chapel Church in Jackson Twp. Arrangements are pending at Heitger Funeral Service, Jackson Chapel, and will be announced later.
Brian K. Finley
Brian K. Finley, 63, of Alliance, died on Friday, August 9, 2002 at 7:10 p.m., at his home. Born in Alliance, on March 1, 1939, he lived all his life in the Alliance area, graduating from Alliance High School in 1957. A Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Army, he was employed at Whitacre-Greer Fireproofing where he had worked for over 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Marie (Carmany) Finley, whom he married on December 14, 1963; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Jo and Martin Kevin Abbe of Atwater; a son, David Brian Finley of Alliance; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Jim Watson of Salem; a brother, Vernon Scott Finley of Seattle WA; a granddaughter, Savannah Marie Buck; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Kue and Serena J. (Shank) Finley; and a sister, Shirley Ann Lacher. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Peters officiating. Burial, with military honors will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday 7– 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice, 4510 Dressler Rd. N.W., Canton, OH, 44718.

Dillard E. Tolley. Private graveside services will be held Monday morning in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday (tonight) 7-9 p.m. in the Waltner-Simchak Funeral Home.
E. Garland Tullius
E. Garland Tullius, age 77, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly on August 8 in her home. Born in Canton, she was raised in New Athens, OH, then moved back to Canton in 1947. She was a private duty nurse early in her career and then became an industrial nurse retiring from the Hoover Co. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. Tullius in 1978 and a son, David A. Tullius in 1990. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ron Thompson of Sarasota, FL; a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Alane Tullius of Canton; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Lamiell Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call one hour before the service.

Frank A. Pauly, age 81, of North Canton, passed away Saturday, in Mercy Medical Center. Arrangements pending with the Wackerly Funeral Home.
Frank J. Bihary, Jr.
Frank J. Bihary, Jr., age 77, of Massillon, formerly of Green, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2002, at the Laurels of Massillon after a brief illness. Born in Canton, he was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy. A 1943 graduate of Timken High School and a graduate of Bowling Green State University. He was a retired school teacher after 38 years of service, teaching at Akron East High School, Goodyear Junior High School and the American Technical Institute. A member of Calvin Presbyterian Church where he served as clerk, served on the Session, a member of the Co-Weds and the Thirty-Niners, all of the church. He belonged to Amvets Post #6 in Massillon, Timken Alumni Association, and he was a scorekeeper for the Canton Womens Bowling Association. Preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane (Sabo) Bihary, and his parents, Frank and Mary (Kertez) Bihary, Sr. Survived by two daughers and sons-in-law, Debbie Overholt and Raymond Myers of Converse, IN, Rhonda and David Louis of Massillon; grandchildren, DeAnn Overholt of Massillon, Raymond Myers, Jr. of Indiana, Kirstie Louis of Massillon, Kaitlyn Myers and Sarah Myers, both of Indiana, Nicholas Louis of Massillon, Cassidy Myers of Indiana; two step-granddaughters; great-grandson, Kyle Overholt of Massillon; two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer and Joyce Bihary of Henderson, NV, Eugene and Carol Bihary of Sun City, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11 a.m. at the Welch-Sekeres-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Bays officiating. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Glenna L. Ulm
Glenna L. Ulm, age 83, of North Canton, went home to be with the Lord Friday in the Alterra Sterling House after an extended illness. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren were she was a former choir director, Sunday School teacher and Deaconess. Survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Wayne Yoder of Fresno, OH, Janet and Glenn Kell of North Canton, Mary Beth and John Randall of Jackson Twp.; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Sandra of North Canton, Ronald and Nancy of North Canton, Terry and Becky of Coral Springs, FL, David and Lori of Lebanon, PA; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dawn Holl and Joyce (Kenneth) Sluss, both of North Canton. Preceded in death by her husband, James Ulm on June 3, 1977. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren with Pastor Reid Firestone officiating. Helene (Farnsworth) Reichlin, 41, of Canal Fulton, died Friday, August 9th, at Mercy Medical Center. She was a graduate of Northwest High School, a secretary at SS Philip James School, a member of SS Philip James Catholic Church, Canal Fulton. She is survived by children, Leah, Brooke and Rachel Reichlin; father of the children, Mike Reichlin; parents, Herb and Mary Jane Farnsworth; sister, Darlene (Steve) Geiger; brothers, Enos (Kathy) Farnsworth, Mark (Tammy) Farnsworth and family. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, 10 a.m. at SS Philip and James Catholic Church with Father Robert Hannon officiating. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Canton. James L. McNeely
James L. McNeely, 64, of San Diego, CA, formerly of Canton, died Wednesday, August 7, 2002. He was born April 22, 1938 in Charleston, WV. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1956 and received his Bachelor's degree in business in California. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Joseph; stepfather, Gabe Joseph; grandmother, Ina Yaley; and his wife, Debbie McNeeley. He is survived by three daughters Pamela Rose LaPaige of Washington, Toni Marie Jellick and Jamie Kennedy of CA; three grandchildren, Desiree', Ashleigh and Kelsey Michael J T; two sisters, Connie Joseph Balcarcel and Karen Joseph (Bob) Kroupa; nephews, Angel Balcarcel and Gabe Kroupa; and nieces, Rachel Balcarcel and Kelly Kroupa. The Elks Club in San Diego will hold a memorial service at a later date.
Juanita Fernandez
Juanita Ann Fernandez, age 65, of Canton, died Friday morning in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. Born June 18, 1937, in Canton, to Caesar and Clara Fernandez. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and was recently retired from Embro Manufacturing. Preceded in death by her father, Caesar Fernandez. Survivors include her mother, Clara Fernandez of Canton; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Karen Fernandez of Canton; three sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Ann Mariol of Massillon, Elaine and Robert McLaughlin of Homeworth, OH, and Karen Jane Fernandez of the home; three nieces; three nephews; five great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Patsy Coe Densmore officiating. Calling hours in the funeral home two hours prior to services, 6-8 p.m.

Lawrence Larry A. Smith, Sr., age 40, went home to be with the Lord on Thusday, August 8, 2002. Born April 16, 1962, in Canton, OH. He was formerly employed at Fitness Quest. Preceded in death by his grandfather, William Smith; father, Algie Burt, Jr.; son, Lawrence Antione Smith, Jr. Larry leaves to cherish his precious memories, mother, Mable Smith of the home; brothers, McKinley (Connie) Smith of South Euclid, OH, Steven (Joyce) Smith of Canton; stepbrothers, David, Michael and Peter Burt, all of Canton; stepsisters, Denise, Ruth and Michelle Burt, all of Canton; stepmother, Henri Lou Burt of Canton; adopted sister, Elise Williams; special friend, Klara Lillie of the home; special uncle, Charles (Kandi) Whitley of Canton; special aunt, Beulah Mae Pender of Franklinton, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Nancy A. LeWay
Nancy A. LeWay, age 70, of North Canton, passed away Friday, August 9, 2002. Nancy was born September 12, 1931, at Akron, OH, the daughter of Claude and Gladys (Nidy) Schrantz. She was a devoted wife and mother of five children. A member of Rosary Society Little Flower Catholic Church. Attended East High School. Nancy's other activities included Lady Elks, New Neighbor Club (Imps), McDowell area Rosary Society. She was briefly employed by Kelly Health Care Service. Nancy is survived by daughters, Denise E. LeWay of Seminole, FL and Lora S. LeWay of North Canton; sons, Andrew (Sue) LeWay of State College, PA, Daniel LeWay of Seminole, FL, and Thomas (Kim) LeWay of Canton; sister, Kay (George) Boucher of Arkansas; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, William E. LeWay to whom she was married 43 years, a sister and three brothers. Visitation will be Monday, August 12th, 6-8 p.m. at Karlo Sons Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 13, at 10 a.m.. from Little Flower Catholic Church with Father Kevin L. Fete as celebrant. Interment in Sunset Hills Memorial Garden.
Robert G. Wagner
Robert G. Wagner, 63, passed away August 5, 2002. An area resident all of his life, he worked as an industrial technician and was a member of VFW Post 9904, Orioles, North Canton eagles and the American Legion Post 44. He is survived by his children, Cliff and Russ Wagner Joe Kaylor and Kristy Barry; sisters, Terry Tillman and Kathy Gerken; and five grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Hecker Funeral Home in Uniontown. Memorial donations may be made to the veteran's organization of choice.

Sam Calloway. There will be calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. Additional services will be conducted from the Big Meadows Baptist Church in Newland, NC on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with his son, Rev. Dale Calloway officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before services on Tuesday from 12-1 p.m. Burial will be in the Big Meadows Baptist Church Cemetery in Newland, NC. The Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine, NC will be handling services.

William M. Fowler A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church. The funeral procession will form at the church Monday morning. Raymond J. Blake
Raymond J. Blake, age 90, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Fulda, Noble County, OH on June 30, 1912 to the late Fred and Anna (Noll) Blake. He spent nearly five years in World War II, mostly in the European Theatre, receiving awards such as the Bronze Star, Leaf Clusters, etc. He worked for Superior Sheet Steel, Borger Warner, U.S. Berger, retiring from Union Metal after 20 years. He attended Fairhope United Methodist Church. Raymond was preceded in death by a brother, Carlin and a sister, Cora Cordle. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Freda; two stepsons, Richard Moore of Humble, TX and Carl Moore of Reno, NV; two brothers, Edwin Blake of Tipton, IA and Harry Blake of Baring, WA; four step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Stier-Israel Funeral Home of Louisville with Rev. Charles Graham officiating. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Canton Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 4815 Munson St. NW, Canton, OH 44718.
