Ann Marie Penrod
Ann Marie Penrod, age 55, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2002. She was born in Portland, OR. She had worked for Monarch Rubber in Hartville, Uniroyal Chemical of Painesville and currently for Genvac Aerospace as a Quality Control Manager. She was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in North Canton and the American Chemical Society. Mrs. Penrod is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Wayne Jr. McVey of Stow; and grandchildren Katherine and Ian. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church where the body will lie in state one hour prior to the services, Father Dragan Flipovic officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore. The family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Anthony and Biscan Funeral Home in Green, 4178 Massillon Rd., where a Pomen Service will be held at 7 p.m. Donations may be made to the Ireland Cancer Center, Main Campus at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
George H. Schaeffer
George H. Schaeffer, age 86, of Jensens, SC, died Saturday, August 3, 2002, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. Mr. Schaeffer was born August 27, 1915, in Alliance, OH., the son of the late John and Ethel Fultz Schaeffer. He was a lifelong member of the VFW Post #10420 in Murrells Inlet, SC., lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge (Old Erie #3) in Warren, OH; a member and past Chaplain of B.P.O.E. #1771 in Myrtle Beach, SC., and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #2351 of Surfside Beach, SC. Survivors include his wife, Alice; two sons, J. Peter Schaeffer of Massillon, OH., Craig W. Schaeffer of Cordova, TN; and four grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Sunset Hills Burial Park in Canton, OH. The family request that memorials may be made to the Moose International, Moose Heart, IL 60539-1184. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Gregory L. Pappas
Gregory L. Pappas, age 38, died unexpectedly Friday in Aultman Hospital. He was a life resident of the Canton area and employed by Moser Construction. He attended Canton South High School. He is survived by his mother, Garnett L. Pappas; father, Jack C. Pappas; one brother, Gary Pappas; one sister, Gina Pappas; and one nephew, Steven all of N. Industry; grandmother, Lucille and numerous aunts and uncles. Friends may call Tuesday 7-9 p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. There will be no other services. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Stark Co. Humane Society at 5100 Peach St. NE, Canton, OH 44720.
Janet Lois Weisel
Janet Lois (Sweitzer) Weisel. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 7, 2002, at 11 a.m. in St. Jacob's Lutheran Church with Pastor Herbert S. Garnes III officiating. Interment in St. Jacob's Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. in the Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW and one hour prior (10-11 a.m.) to the service in the church. Janet was dearly loved by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jacob's Lutheran Church, 1460 State St. NE, North Canton, OH 44721.
Mary Jane Fernandez
Mary Jane Fernandez, age 79, of North Canton, passed away Saturday morning at her home after a year and half illness. She was born in Canton and was a life resident of Canton and North Canton. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, National Council Catholic Women, Catholic Golden Ages and Mayfield Senior Center as volunteer. She was retired from Sears Service Center as clerk receptionist and prior to that she was employed with Ohio Bell as telephone operator. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ave (Souliere) Racicot and also was preceded in death by two brothers. She is survived by her husband, Louis Fernandez with whom she was married for 53 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rene and Sandra Fernandez of Columbus, OH, Michael Flory and Lynn Fernandez of Canton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Zita and Rollie Dreussi of North Canton and Tina and Mark Grandville of Raleigh, NC; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Zita Jacobs of Naples, FL. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Little Flower Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Kevin Fete as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday (tonigjt) 6-9 p.m. in the Rossi Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Alliance Visiting Nursing Assoc., 885 S. Sawburg Rd. Suite 106, Alliance, OH 44601 or Little Flower Catholic Church Grotto Building Fund, 2040 Diamond St. N.E., North Canton, OH 44721. Altar and Rosary Society will hold services Monday (tonight) 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
Robert E. Easterday
Robert Earl Easterday, 60, of Dellroy, died Saturday afternoon in Mercy Medical Center at Canton after a short illness. Born January 13, 1942, in Canton, Ohio, son of the late John W. and Florence Beckley Easterday. He was a retired self-employed trucker. Bob loved to show his Haflinger ponies. He lived most of his life in the Dellroy area. He is survived by three sons, Rob Easterday, Jr. of Woobridge, VA., Matt (Angela) Easterday of Waynesburg, Joe Easterday of Louisville; two daughters, Mrs. Fran (Bill) Marker of Minerva, and Shelly Easterday of Palo Alto, CA; seven grandchildren: Joshua, Jamie, Tyler, Ben, Kelsey, Samantha and Andrew; two brothers, John Lee (Pat) Easterday of Dellroy and Dickie Jay (Barb) Easterday of Apache Junction, AZ; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Sandra Kay) Flannigan of Dellroy and Mrs. Thomas (Gloria Jean) Welch of Thornton, CO. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Pastor Rick Chappell officiating. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until service time.
