Agnes E. Muckley
Agnes E. Muckley, age 85, passed away Friday, August 2, 2002, in the New Dawn Retirement Center in Dover, Ohio, following an extended illness. Born in Selbyville, WV., on March 24, 1917. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Merrill H. Muckley; and two sons, Donald and Wilford Jordan. Survivors include her grandchildren, Lesia Meehan, Mark and Brian Jordan; two step-sons and spouses, Donald Sr. and Edna Muckley of Green, OH., and Kenneth and Blanche Muckley of Strasburg, OH; stepdaughter, Marjory Truex of Bolivar, OH; there are several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Chaplain, David Rodweller officiating. Calling hours at the funeral home one hour before services on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. Cremation will take place following the services.

Frederick J. Bauer
Frederick J. Bauer, age 79, of Beach City, passed away Thursday morning in Union Hospital in Dover. He was born in Canton, a son of the late John and Julia Frederick Bauer and most recently had resided in Mission, TX and Beach City. He was a 1940 graduate of Canton McKinley High School and had attended Ohio State University. Mr. Bauer was the owner/operator of Motor Delivery Construction Co. He was an avid amateur ham radio operator and was a member of the Elks Lodge in McAllen, TX and was a former member of Atwood Yacht Club, which he had served as Sec.-Treas. He and his wife, were members of the Family Motor Coach Assoc., and had served as Pres. of the Ham Radio Chapter. He was an avid sailor and had served as Pres. of the Highlander Class Sailing Assoc. Survived by his wife, Marjorie Bauer, with whom he celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary on June 22; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Cherie Bauer, of Lakewood, OH, Bob and Susan Bauer, of Westerville, OH, and Harold and Stephanie Bauer, of Beach City; one sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Merle Spring, of Canton; six grandchildren, Fred, Charlotte, Jessica, Julie, John and Steven. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia, with Rev. Darlene Garber officiating. His cremains will be interred in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 6-7:30 p.m. before the services. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Bauer's memory may be made to Aultman Hospice, 4510 Dressler Rd. NW, Canton, OH 44718.

Gilberta E. Nickels
Gilberta E. Birdie Nickels, age 79, of Canton, died Friday night in Aultman Hospital after a brief illness. A life resident of Canton, she was retired from the Hoover Co. Following that she worked for Sanese Services at Aultman Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Survived by two daughters, Linda Morrow and Sally Dimmerling; two sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick and Susan Dimmerling and Ronald C. Sr. and Thirise May Dimmerling, all of Canton; a sister, Mildred Gill Curry of North Canton; a sister-in-law, Betty Nickels of Canton; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Frederick W. and Myrtle E. Nichels and two brothers, William and Charles Nickels. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Fr. John R. Nentwick as celebrant. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home.

Janet E. Ballantyne
Janet Elaine (Allan) Ballantyne, age 71, of Valley Springs, CA, passed away suddenly Sunday afternoon July 21, 2002, in Mark Twain, St. Joseph's Hospital, San Andreas Ca. Born in Bedford, OH, then residing in Canton, OH for 50 years. She graduated from McKinley H.S. in 1949. She lived the last 21 years of her life in Modesto and Valley Springs, CA. She worked previously as a statistical typist for the Hall Kistler Co. She was a member of the Calaveras County Humane Society, the American Legion Women's Auxiliary 102, and the Kennel Club of the Sierra. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Andrew P. Ballantyne of the home, to whom she was married 48 years. She is also survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws, Robert and Rebecca of Turlock, CA, Michael and Dorothy of Massillon, OH; a daughter, Jill Ballantyne of Valley Springs, CA; a brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Shirley Allan of Hartfield, VA; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A private memorial service was held Thursday, July 25, 2002 at the San Andreas Memorial Chapel with Father Charles Austin officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations were made to the Calaveras County Humane Society, P.O. Box 2065, San Andreas, CA 95249.

Janet Lois Weisel
Janet Lois (Sweitzer) Weisel, born February 26, 1940, went home to be with the Lord August 2, 2002 following a courageous five year battle with cancer. Janet graduated from Marlboro High School class of 1958 where she was a majorette, member of the band and Homecoming Queen. Sears and Roebuck employed her before becoming a housewife, mother and secretary for the family business, member of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church, active in the choir, Sunday school and was youth choir director for many years prior to her illness. Janet enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed her time with friends playing cards, square dancing and painting but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Preceded in death by her father, Carl Sweitzer. Beloved wife of Dick Weisel with whom she celebrated 40 years of marriage on April 7, 2002. In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Tracy and Lynn Weisel and Guy and Sandi Weisel, all of Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Eric Brotherton of Canal Fulton, OH; grandchildren, Nathan and Rachel Weisel, Lindsy, Michael and Kailey Weisel and Ryan and Hannah Brotherton; mother, Mrs. Dorothy Sweitzer of Hartville; brothers, Jay and (Joanne) Sweitzer of Alliance and Larry (Marsha) Sweitzer of North Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 7, 2002, at 11 a.m. in St. Jacob's Lutheran Church with Pastor Herbert S. Garnes III officiating. Interment in St. Jacob's Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. in the Spiker-Foster-SHRIVER Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW and one hour prior (10-11 a.m.) to the service in the church. Janet was dearly loved by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jacob's Lutheran Church, 1460 State St. NE, North Canton, OH 44721.

Julia M. Dickinson
Julia M. Dickinson, 76, of Massillon, died Thursday, August 1, 2002, in her home following a brief illness. Born August 8, 1925, in Natrona, PA., the daughter of Edward and Anna Goldinger. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harlie Ike Dickinson; a grandson; six sisters; and three brothers. Survivors include her brother, Edward Goldinger of PA; her children, Harlie and Janet Dickinson of Allen, TX., Robert and Judy Dickinson of Massillon, Anita and Kenny Ledger, Lois Gaddis and Roxann and Allen McCune all of Massillon; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Graveside service for family and friends will be at Brookfield Cemetery Friday, August 9th., 10 a.m. Friends and family may call at her hone after services on Friday. Memorial contributions my be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Services, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.

Kenneth R. Thompson Sr.
Kenneth R. Thompson Sr., age 79, of Waynesburg, died early Saturday morning following an extended illness. He was born in Canton, Dec. 25, 1922, to the late Wilbur and Minnie Thompson. A graduate of McKinley High School, he served in the U.S. Navy, South Pacific Theater during World War II. Ken was a lathing contractor retiring in 1984. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Norm Thompson Jr. who died Oct. 13, 2001, five brothers, six sisters. Survivors include his wife, Bea of the home, to whom he was married 57 years; three daughters, Mrs. Don (Bonnie) Finzer, Linda Thompson and Mrs. Pete (Cindy) Olson, all of Canton; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. in the Wackerly Funeral Home. There will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.

Mary Fernandez
Mary Jane Fernandez, age 79, of North Canton, passed away Saturday morning at her home after a year and half illness. She was born in Canton and was a life resident of Canton and North Canton. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, National Council Catholic Women, Catholic Golden Ages and Mayfield Senior Center as volunteer. She was retired from Sears Service Center as clerk receptionist and prior to that she was employed with Ohio Bell as telephone operator. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Ave (Souliere) Racicot and also was preceded in death by two brothers. She is survived by her husband, Louis Fernandez with whom she was married for 53 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rene and Sandra Fernandez of Columbus, OH, Michael F. and Lynn Fernandez of Canton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Zita and Roland Dreussi of North Canton and Tina and Mark Grandville of Raleigh, NC; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Zita Jacobs of Naples, FL. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Little Flower Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Kevin Fete as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday evening 6-9 p.m. in the Rossi Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Alliance Visiting Nursing Assoc., 885 S. Sawburg Rd. Suite 106, Alliance, OH 44601 or Little Flower Catholic Church Grotto Building Fund, 2040 Diamond St. N.E., North Canton, OH 44721. Altar and Rosary Society will hold services Monday at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Mildred Hall
Mildred Sue Sharp Hall, age 79, of New Lexington, died Aug. 1, 2002 in New Lexington. Born July 15, 1923 in Jellico, KY, to the late Albert C. and Biddie Lawson Sharp. She was a graduate of Lehman High School in Canton, class of 1942. She was married to Eber R. Hall, who died Dec. 2, 1989. Survived by one son and four daughters, Russell Hall, Barbara Belz, Linda L. Hahn, Judith A. Waters and Jane L. Perlak; one brother, William Sharp of Canton; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers; seven sisters. Funeral. services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul O'Donnell officiating. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 10 a.m. until the hour of the services.

Milton Nash III
Milton Nash III, was born on July 9, 1934, to the late Milton and Mary (Prince) Nash in Gallion, AL on Wednesday, July 31, 2002, around 9:30 a.m. God saw that his servant was getting weary. He sent an Angel to Beacon Him, saying, Come on, your work down here on earth is done. Mack as he is affectionately known by family and close friends, made preparation to meet his maker at an early age. He accepted Christ as his personal savior, joining Jerusalem Baptist Church in Gallion, AL, under the leadership of the late Rev. Lem Chaptman. On February 3, 1959, Milton and Bertha McPherson were United in Holy Matrimony and to this union seven children were born. Mr. Nash was a former employee of the Timken Company, retiring on January 31, 1996 after 43 years and two months of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Mary (Prince) Nash, son, Milton Maurice Nash, brother, Frank Bo Nash. He leaves to cherish his memories three sons, Anthony (Jean) Nash, Todd (Andrea) Nash, Rodney (Felicia) Nash, all of Canton; three daughters, Betty Jo Nash of Massillon, OH, Eydie Nash of Canton, Kila Nash of Akron, OH; one brother, Moses Nash of Canton; eight sisters, Mary Jackson, Rosie (Phillip) Martin, Ernestine (William) Smith, all of Canton, Elizabeth (Peter) Moore of Cleveland, OH, Dessie Henderson of Birmingham, AL, Leatha (George) Braxton of Detroit, MI, Cylessidine Hill of Demopolis, AL, Mattie Cunningham of Huntington, NY; 16 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Special Friend, Annie Ruth Smith of Demopolis, AL; devoted friends, John Bush and Kelvin Miles, both of Canton. Funeral services will be 12 Noon Tuesday, August 6, 2002, at Mt. Calvary Second Baptist Church, 1000-3rd St. N.E., Canton, OH 44704 with Rev. Anthony Robinson, interim pastor, Rev, Cato Waiters, Eulogy. Interment Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Myron C. Pryor
Myron C. Mike Pryor, age 73, of Canton, passed away August 1, 2002. Mr. Pryor was born in Krumroy and lived in the Akron-Canton area most of his life. He graduated from Hower High School and was retired from the U.S. Army with 30 years of service. He was a member of Victory Lodge #649 F AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Akron and the Cliff Hockley VFW Post. He is preceded in death by parents, Forest and Lavina Pryor; daughter, Cathy Suess. He is survived by wife, Estrue (Boots); step-children, Denise (Mike) Cooper of North Canton, Deborah (Joe) Zabitski of Barberton, Joe (Helen) Gore of Barberton, and Jim Gore; ten grandchildren; and his Pride and Joy Great Grand Daughter, Sydney Grace Monroe; sister, Audrey Hemela of Sebring, FL; brother, Arthur Ben Pryor Sr. of Uniontown; brother-in-law, Ralph Baker; 17 nieces and nephews; and Long Time Friend, Richard Cochran. Funeral Services at the Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd. Monday at 11 a.m. with Dr. Mark T. Ruppert officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Wallace Kirkpatrick
Wallace Kirkpatrick, age 62, passed away August 2, 2002. Born in Cornwall, NY, Mr. Kirkpatrick lived in Matawan, New Jersey and moved to the Uniontown area in 1975. He was retired from the Goodyear Tire Rubber Co. in 1999 with 37 years service and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Beverly; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Susan of Uniontown; son, Thomas of Riverview, FL; grandchildren, Michael, Amber, Jaclyn, Kaitlyn; brother, John of Keyport, New Jersey and sister, Patricia Wentway of Ocala, FL. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Rd., with Father David Halaiko officiating. Dolores Anderson
Dolores Anderson, age 84, formerly of Canton and the Canton Regency, died of cancer on Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at her daughter's home in Winter Haven, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Carl E. Anderson, former President and Chairman of the Board of the E.W. Bliss Company. She was also preceded in death by her son, Captain Carl E. Anderson, Jr., U.S. Army helicopter pilot in Vietnam; and her parents, Wallace and Catherine Leadbeater. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Rowland Judge of Winter Haven, FL, with whom she made her home; and her son, David W. Anderson of North Canton; her grandchildren, Amy (Edward) Judge-Prein of Indianapolis, IN, Kristen (Brian) Judge-Simpson of Vero Beach, FL; and Jennifer Anderson of North Canton; great-grandchildren, Allison and Edward (Bubby) Prein and Samantha and Scott Simpson; and her sister, Evelyn Hollis of Seminole, FL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2002 at 11 AM in Karlo and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Brookshire officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
